Events for the littlest library-goers focus on building a solid reading foundation with songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and learning activities.

Baby & Toddler Storytime, Weekly 20 minutes of simple stories and fingerplays for infants to 3-year-olds, with a grown-up.

Meet in the Youth Services area.

Every Wednesday 10:15a Preschool Storytime, Weekly 30 minutes of stories, songs and fingerplays for 3-to-5year-olds. Grown-ups may attend or may treat this as a first independent activity for their preschoolers.

Every Wednesday 11:15a Special Halloween Storytimes with Costume Parades Join us for Halloween-themed storytimes; both will be followed by a costume Trick-or-Treat parade through the library! Meet in the Youth Services area.

Arthur Zar’s Amazing Zebras Join us as we hunt for hidden letters in zebra stripes! Local author and illustrator, Amy Lucas-Peroceski, reads the story of Aurthur Zar’s Amazing Zebras, then create your own zebra drawings with help from the artists.

October 6 11:00a-2:00p Plaza 2:30p Green Room Crafts with Creativity Tank Kids are invited to drop in anytime to create artwork with the Creativity Tank. Crafts include watercolor painting, papermaking, shrinkydinks, and zentangle drawing!

Recommended for kids in kindergarten to 5th grade.

Drop in anytime and create at the library! We will have a variety of craft and art supplies for kids to use. A few sample crafts will be available for those that want a project to do or just let your creativity flow. For kindergarten to 5th grade.

December 1 11:00a-2:00p Green Room Family Game Day Drop in anytime between 10:30- 2:00 to play games with your family. We will provide a Wii U, Wii, and Board Games appropriate for a wide range of ages or you can bring your own.

December 29 10:30a-2:00p Green Room Halloween Crafts & Movie Kids, get ready for Halloween at the library! Make spooky crafts, and personalize your own trick or treat tote bag! Stick around for a spooktastic showing of Coraline at 3 pm.

October 27 1:00-2:30p Green Room 3:00p Gold Room Lake Superior Zoomobile From deserts to rainforests, kids will discover what adaptations animals have that help them survive in incredible natural places. Come early to watch Zootopia at 10:15!

November 10 1:00-1:45p Green Room 2:00-2:45p Green Room Learn to Code with Ozobots Ozobots are tiny robots that you can code using colored markers. Learn the basics of how they work and how to make them do what you want with this introductory course.

We will be giving away an author signed copy of the graphic novel “Secret Coders” by Gene Luen Yang. For kids in grades 1-5 that are new to using Ozobots.

Noon Year’s Eve Kids want to party like it’s 2019 too! Kids 2nd grade and younger are invited to celebrate the coming New Year at noon instead of midnight! Drop in anytime for a dance party, crafts, snacks, games, and a noon countdown to a shower of balloons.

From peppermint to lavender, to lemon and tea tree, learn about their many health benefits and how to safely use them.

In this class, local artisan Lanae Rhoads will show you how to combine essential oils to make scent blends, health boosting blends and home cleaning blends.

Learn how to understand ingredient lists, determine safe vs. dangerous chemicals, and how to make it all work together. Everyone can take home a 4oz bottle of lotion.
