Welcome to Hampton Court House Early Years | Prep | Senior | Sixth Form Achievement with Heart Choosing a school is about finding the right place for your child to learn, grow and discover who they can become. At Hampton Court House, we believe that education should do more than prepare young people for their next set of exams. It should inspire curiosity, build confidence and independence, nurture ambition and, above all, help every child feel known, valued and happy. Welcome to a school that does things a little differently. Set within a beautiful historic house and nine acres of parkland beside Bushy Park and Hampton Court Palace, Hampton Court House is an extraordinary setting for an extraordinary education. Yet it is our people and our approach, rather than our surroundings, that truly define us. Our ethos of Achievement with Heart brings together academic ambition with a genuinely individual approach. We know our students well, understand what makes them tick and encourage them to discover and pursue their own interests. We want every child to achieve highly, but we also want them to enjoy the journey. A school where relationships matter One of the things families notice when they visit HCH is our sense of openness and informality. Students wear their own clothes and address staff by their first names. This is purposeful informality: an approach designed to remove unnecessary barriers and build relationships based on mutual respect, trust and openness. It creates an environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas, taking intellectual risks and finding their voice. Student voice is not simply something we encourage; our students are active participants in the life of the school and in shaping their experience.
Achievement with heart.
An education that goes beyond the classroom At Hampton Court House, learning is not confined to a classroom or a textbook. Our students benefit from a rich programme of experiential learning, specialist teaching, trips, cultural experiences, outdoor learning, sport, the arts and opportunities to explore the world around them. Our historic campus includes specialist facilities, sports pitches and courts, art and science spaces, an amphitheatre, community garden and Forest School. From the earliest years through to Sixth Form, we encourage our students to be curious about the world, to try something new and to develop interests that may stay with them for life. Small enough to know every child. Ambitious enough to challenge them. As an all-through school for children from 2 to 18, we offer continuity at every stage of a child's education, while retaining the close-knit feel that allows individuals to be genuinely known.

Our personalised approach means that we can recognise each child's strengths, interests and potential, supporting them to make the most of their abilities while encouraging them to stretch themselves further. And our academic ambition is clear. Our 2026 GCSE results saw 24% of grades awarded at Grade 9, 43% at Grades 9–8 and 62% at Grades 9–7, with performance increasing across every measure. Our 2026 A Level results further reflect this ambition, with 45% of grades awarded at A*–A and 76% at A*–B. But success at HCH is not defined by grades alone. We want our students to leave us as confident, capable young people who are ready to make their mark on the world. Preparing for life, not simply the next step This philosophy is particularly evident in our Sixth Form, where our award-winning Preparing for Life programme complements academic study with opportunities to develop leadership, wellbeing, cultural awareness, community engagement and the practical skills young people need beyond school. It reflects something fundamental about our approach: we are preparing young people not simply for university, but for life. A warm welcome We know that every family arrives at this point with different hopes, ambitions and questions. Perhaps you are looking for a school where your child can flourish academically. Perhaps you want them to grow in confidence, discover a passion, develop their independence or simply feel that they belong. Perhaps you are looking for all of those things. Whatever brings you to Hampton Court House, we hope you will take the time to discover what makes our community special. Come and meet our students. Talk to our teachers. Explore our classrooms and grounds. See the relationships, energy and curiosity that make our school what it is. We would be delighted to welcome you and your family to Hampton Court House. With warmest wishes,
Achievement with heart.

Interviews From Year 3 upwards your child may be invited to an interview. Interviews at Hampton Court House are an informal conversation with a member of the school leadership team that usually last between 15 - 20 minutes per candidate. Interviews are an informal and relaxed opportunity for candidates and the school to learn more about each other. Occasionally we will also run a short group activity session immediately prior to individual interviews.
Offers At this stage of your admissions journey, offer letters will be issued. Hampton Court House is academically selective; the issuance of an offer letter is at the sole discretion of the school and subject to the candidate successfully meeting the eligibility criteria and requisite assessment grade if applicable, in addition to a satisfactory interview.
Acceptance & Deposits Acceptance of your offer is required by 7 March 2027 accompanied by your deposit paid in full (or within 10 days of offer for Pre-Nursery and Nursery in-year admissions).

Hampton Court House pupils enjoy small class sizes, typically around 18 or fewer. Consequently, school places are limited and highly competitive. We therefore highly recommend early return of your offer acceptance and deposit to secure your child’s place at Hampton Court House.

Further Information and FAQs What do pupils wear at Hampton Court House? We do not have a school uniform because we believe that learning to dress appropriately is an essential part of a well-rounded education. We hope that our students will develop a sense of style that suits them and suits their environment, and prepares them well for professional life. To that end we have a dress code which we believe sets an appropriate tone without being too prescriptive. Clothing and footwear must be clean, well-fitted and in good repair. Outdoor wear, including coats, hats and fleeces, may be worn outdoors but not indoors. Sportswear, including tracksuits, may only be worn on designated sports days, and our PE kit is worn for off-site PE lessons in the senior school. For further detailed information, please refer to the Dress Code which can be found on our website under Parent Information. How do you get to Hampton Court House? In addition to our school bus service, the details of which can be found on our website, Hampton Court House is well served by a variety of TFL transport links, enabling our older students to travel safely and independently to school, learning to manage their time and schedules effectively and developing their confidence ahead of their higher education journeys. Bus Hampton Court House is a short walking distance from the Chestnut Avenue and Hampton Court Green bus stops, served by bus routes 111 (Heathrow Central), 411 (West Molesey) and 216 (Staines) to and from Kingston Station. Additionally, the R68 route goes directly to and from Richmond Station. ~10 mins

Further Information and FAQs Cycle Many of our students opt to enjoy the scenery and safety of the cycle lanes from Hampton, Teddington, Hampton Wick, Kingston, Molesey and beyond. There is a dedicated area in the driveway where students can leave their bicycles securely throughout the day. Will you offer more subjects in future? Given our tailored approach to education at Hampton Court House, students enjoy a wide range of resources with personalised attention. Our diverse, expert teaching body is one of these key resources, and if there is enough demand for a subject will we be able to consider adding it to our options. Please speak to your child’s school section lead for further information (see key contacts on page 7). How does the French Immersion Pathway work in the Prep School? Between Years 1 - 4 , 20% of the curriculum is taught in French. The French Immersion Bilingual programme is completed at the end of Year 4. With the exception of Language subjects ,all lessons from Year 5 upwards are conducted in English by subject specialists, many of whom teach all the way up to A-Level. We believe that the French Immersion pathway from Year 1 - 4 offers children a unique advantage, not only in terms of being bilingual, but it has also been proven to have other cognitive learning benefits. However, for new families joining in Year 3 or 4 only, who do not wish their child to follow the French Immersion pathway, we do offer an ‘English stream’ pathway, where all lessons other than French language are taught separately from the rest of the class in English.
Achievement with heart.
How do students move up to the Sixth Form? The majority of our students stay with us through to Sixth Form. We offer a wide range of subjects and leadership opportunities including EPQ. Entry requirements: students will need to achieve a minimum of Grade 6 in their English and Maths GCSEs, Grade 7 in any GCSE subjects being taken at A Level, and a Grade 8 in Maths GCSE if students are electing to take Further Maths at A Level.
