Traumatic Injuries to Rehabilitation: The Complete Clinical Pathway A Multidisciplinary Symposium Saturday, October 17, 2026
Oral and facial trauma cases can be unpredictable and often overwhelming, presenting unique challenges in the general practice setting. In those critical moments, what you do—or don’t do— can permanently impact function, aesthetics and patient outcomes. This immersive, multidisciplinary symposium brings together experts—from pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, orthodontics and restorative dentistry—to deliver a clear, step-by-step clinical roadmap for managing trauma from initial injury through long-term rehabilitation. Demystifying the Zygoma Implant Concept: Cadaver Hands-on Workshop Saturday, March 6, 2027
Many potential candidates for implant restoration of the fully edentulous maxilla are primarily interested in a fixed restoration as opposed to a tissue supported over denture. Pneumatized maxillary sinuses usually prohibit the placement of implants for posterior support for a fixed prosthesis following the immediate load graftless solution concept. Tilting of distal implants to avoid anatomic structures or anchorage in the zygoma bone using the zygoma implant are the options available following Edmond Bedrossian the graftless concept. Considering the graftless approach allows for reduced treatment time, single-stage surgical reconstructions and immediate loading, it eliminates the need for transitional dentures, therefore, increasing treatment acceptance by patients. Led by an experienced clinician and renowned author in implant dentistry, the comprehensive lecture portion of the program will explore the essential factors for delivering fixed implantsupported restorations for edentulous patients. Dr. Bedrossian will emphasize the biomechanical principles of zygomatic implant placement and examine the rationale behind the various design features of zygomatic implants. Following the lecture, participants will engage in a hands-on workshop to practice zygomatic implant placement on cadaver models, enhancing their practical skills and clinical understanding. You Will Learn ■ To conduct pretreatment evaluation and determination of the final type of fixed prosthesis ■ To understand prosthetic and surgical protocols for treatment of the edentulous maxilla ■ To implement surgical protocols for placement of zygoma implants ■ To administer the conversion protocol for patients’ dentures to a fixed
provisional, immediate load protocol
■ To employ postoperative management of immediate load patients ■ To examine final prosthetic designs and protocols ■ To establish long-term, follow-up care for patients with zygomatic implants
to ensure optimal outcomes and address potential complications

COURSES Elevate Your Daily Direct Resin Composite Restorations Marcos Vargas, DDS, MS
As patient expectations for aesthetic and conservative dentistry continue to rise, general dentists are increasingly seeking restorative solutions that are predictable, efficient and practical for daily practice. Modern composite resin materials—with expanded shade systems, varied opacities and improved handling characteristics—provide clinicians with the opportunity to consistently deliver functional, highly aesthetic restorations in a productive and cost‑effective manner for both anterior and posterior teeth. When properly selected and applied, today’s composite systems can produce restorations that blend seamlessly with natural dentition and aesthetically defy detection. This clinically focused lecture is designed for the busy general dentist and emphasizes materials and techniques that work reliably in real‑world practice. Core principles of adhesion, composite selection and simplified clinical workflows will be reviewed through clinical cases to help clinicians achieve consistent, dependable outcomes with confidence. Multiple placement techniques will be presented to allow practitioners to select the approach that best fits their clinical style and restorative challenges. Sleep Apnea: Wake Up to the Problem Erin E. Elliott, DDS
Did you know that dentists play a key role in treating sleep apnea? Left untreated, sleep apnea can cause high blood pressure, stroke, heart conditions and diabetes. Did you know there could be hundreds of undiagnosed patients in your practice suffering from sleep apnea? Dentists have a unique opportunity to detect and treat this debilitating condition in patients who may never have sought help. This interactive lecture is designed to educate you on dental sleep medicine and how you can improve your patients’ overall health and quality of life while building your practice. Attention is given to the four steps to successful implementation: awareness, diagnosis, financials and treatment. Immediate Implant and Full-Arch Reconstruction: A Graftless Approach to Predictable Care Edmond Bedrossian, DDS
A paradigm shift in implant dentistry has positioned graftless surgical approaches as a predictable and efficient solution for tooth replacement. By reducing treatment time and enabling singlestage surgery with immediate loading, clinicians can deliver streamlined care that improves both clinical outcomes and patient acceptance. Dr. Bedrossian will provide a practical framework for immediate implant placement and provisionalization following extraction, with a focus on preserving hard and soft tissue architecture for more predictable results. For full-arch rehabilitation cases, whether terminal dentition or fully edentulous, participants will review key anatomical considerations in both the maxilla and mandible that influence treatment planning. The lecture also covers optimal implant number and distribution for fixed prostheses, including the use of axial, tilted and zygomatic implants, all presented through a DIGILOG workflow that integrates digital planning with proven analog techniques to enhance precision and predictability. 16

41st Annual Charles A. Sweet, Sr. Pediatric Dentistry Memorial Lecture Saturday, April 17, 2027
Optimal Use of Minimally Invasive Approaches for Caries Management in Pediatric Dentistry
Although traditional operative dentistry treats caries and restores form and function, it is invasive, technique sensitive, costly and requires significant cooperation from the patient. Many patients are unable to receive this treatment because they are too young, anxious, have medical conditions that limit their cooperation or lack the resources to access care. New scientific concepts, techniques and materials have allowed the introduction of minimal intervention Yasmi Crystal approaches to manage carious lesions that enable us to give patients alternative options. Dr. Crystal will discuss the optimal use of silver diamine fluoride, intermediate therapeutic restorations (ITR), atraumatic restorative technique (ART) and Hall-style crowns as minimal intervention approaches in the management of caries in pediatric dentistry. Pulp Therapy Redefined: Biologically Driven Protocols for Primary and Permanent Teeth
Recent breakthroughs in pulp biology and its healing capacity— coupled with the advent of biocompatible materials—have fundamentally shifted how we treat pulpal disease in children and adolescents. Moving away from aggressive, traditional treatments, current guidelines now advocate for a minimally invasive, tiered approach that prioritizes preserving pulp vitality. This presentation will outline practical, evidence-based protocols for diagnosing pulpal status and managing deep versus extremely deep carious lesions. Dr. Crystal will explore the clinical application of modern bioceramics and discuss how integrating these latest recommendations can elevate patient outcomes in a contemporary pediatric practice. Navigating Remineralization: Separating Cariology Facts from Marketing Fiction
The dental market is flooded with new "remineralizing" agents, each claiming superior efficacy in halting and reversing early carious lesions. For the practicing clinician, cutting through the marketing hype to find evidence-based solutions can be a daunting task. This lecture bridges the gap between foundational cariology and modern clinical practice. We will review the essential micro-anatomy of enamel and dentin, dive into the biochemistry of the oral microbiome and break down the precise chemical dance of demineralization and remineralization. You will learn how to critically evaluate the claims of emerging products and gain the confidence and clarity needed to make evidence-based product recommendations that genuinely improve patient outcomes.
