Duca Walking is the result of 50 years of experience in the footwear industry. Our founder, Frank van Wezel, always had a strong interest in walking as a sport and simply as a daily activity to keep yourself healthy and focused. After 50 years in the footwear industry, he is still driven and focused; focused to help people live a healthy lifestyle through walking.
After 45 years of running the multi-faceted sports brand HiTec Sports and becoming one of the biggest outdoor brands in the USA, he felt it was time to take walking in a different direction with Duca Walking. Instead of presenting the apirational dream of climbing mountains, he wants to inspire young people to simply go outside for a walk and connect with the neighbourhood and the people around them. Or simply take a walk to free your mind and reflect on daily life.

The AW23 collection is our first foray into crossover walking shoes that take us from nature to cityscape. The trialled and tested Vibram Rolling Gait System (RGS) sets the standard to what we believe is the key to enhancing the perfect gait cycle. The technology sets the tone for all future explorations in design and functionality. Our curiosity towards the hybridization between nature and city life is our main drive behind our design ideas and provides the context to our AW23 product catalogue.
Vibram Rollingait System® SOLE TECHNOLOGY
Vibram is a renowned sole manufacturer from Italy. For over 80 years, since the creation of the first rubber sole for mountaineering, Vibram has been a guarantee of quality and performance, innovation, and design.
The Vibram RGS sole technology has been specially developed to enhance the natural roll of the foot. integrating form and flexibility. The sole doesn’t have a straight longitudinal section but offers a radius of curvature that varies according to the functionality of the foot.
Usually at the first touch-down with the ground, the centre of plantar pressure moves from the heel to the metatarsus and toes.
