Classic cars and pin-up beauties—a combination that has been proven to get your heart racing. Ken Block is beyond amazing, and what he’s doing with rally racing is off the charts! I’ve been to the last two X Games just to see him compete in the Rally X races and can’t wait for his next Gymkhana video. Oh, and and now he can add “game developer” to his list of cool jobs ’cause of his DiRT 3 stint, which is, like, a dream job of mine! That cover of his is hilarious! And here I thought he was a quiet and serious guy…obviously not.

Your piece on Game in Issue 73 shed light on what seems like a more mature Game. I just wonder how his new mentality on life, music and everything else will affect his music? I’ve been a fan since his debut album and am curious to see what the new R.E.D. album has to offer. I just hope he never goes soft on us ’cause no one else is reppin’ as hard for the West Coast as he always has. Oh, and I’ve been watching “The DUB Magazine Project” on MTV2, and Game’s actually a good host.

The memorial feature in the last issue did a great job of depicting what type of guy he was thanks to his closest friends. I can only imagine how hard it must have been for them to open up like that. CHEVY ANNOUNCES NEW 2012 CAMARO “TRANSFORMERS” SPECIAL EDITION WWW.GM.COM

To celebrate the release of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Chevy created a “Transformers” limited edition Camaro that is a $3,000 add-on package for its 2LT and 2SS coupes. Calling it the “Transformers Special Edition 2012 Camaro,” it features a “Rally Yellow” exterior color with black stripes, some cool Autobot emblems and 20-inch alloy wheels (customers can also choose to order a ground-effects package and 21-inch alloy wheels). The inside has black leather upholstery, yellow contrast stitching and embroidered headrests.

The Hoverbike Concept by Australian Chris Malloy just might be the future of transportation… literally! After about two years of hard work aside from his mechanical design job at an optical engineering firm, Malloy created an aerial vehicle that’s a lot like a motorcycle. Measuring about 10 feet in length, 4.3 feet in width, 1.8 feet in height, the bike weighs in at only 231 pounds thanks to its Kevlar reinforced carbon fiber chassis. such as a twist on the right grip handle that increases thrust and a left grip that controls the pitch for moving forward or back. Two parachutes will guide the Hoverbike to the ground in case anything happens while hovering. While Malloy is still testing everything out, in the works are a gyro-base control system and computer override to prevent a rider from tipping over. Malloy is now looking for investors or donors to help him take the Hoverbike from concept to production for consumers. He’s estimating that each one will cost about $40K…a price we wouldn’t mind paying for that machine!

Aston Martin teamed up with Paris fashion house Colette to design a special edition Cygnet City Car, with only 14 units released worldwide. The car features a “Lightning Silver” exterior with a race-inspired front bumper and hood livery, while Colette also added mirror caps and diamond turned wheel rims. The interior includes stainless-steel badges for the door handles, quilted leather door and seat inserts, quilted Alcantara sun visors, special key chain as well as ‘Cygnet & Colette’ badging throughout the cabin and exterior. The special edition Cygnet can be ordered through the Colette store in Paris, with deliveries scheduled for the end of the year.

W

hen Pro-Line Extreme Fabrication was given free reign on a Nissan Titan from one of their clients, they quickly turned to VIBE Audio to transform the truck into a true Titan of sound. Unveiled at last year’s SEMA Show and used as the centerpiece for VIBE’s display at the 2011 CES, it’s currently traveling the country as the audio company’s demo car.

The custom truck, owned by David Fuentes of L.A., features more than $100K in modifications, with Pro-Line Extreme Fabrication in Azusa, CA, to thank for an impeccable build that took a total of eight months to design, fabricate and perfect. All done up in fiberglass inside and out, it was then sprayed in a custom House of Kolor shade of an uncharted candy/pearl combo that resulted in a vibrant red color. California Upholstery also contributed their touch of comfort by wrapping and stitching pieces all throughout the interior and truck bed. The Titan’s carefully crafted fiberglass enclosure includes four 12-inch Space dual 2-ohm subwoofers powered by a BlackBox Stereo 4 amplifier, all fine-tuned to deliver the best possible bass performance. Five pairs of Space 6 3D speakers and two pairs of Space 5 3D speakers all provide the Titan with audiophile quality sound, while two pairs of BlackDeath QB69 6”x9” and a pair of LiteAir 5-inch Speakers round off the audio install. All speakers are powered by four of VIBE Audio’s BlackBox Bass 5 amplifiers. For gaming on the go, an Xbox 360 was built into the fiberglass center console, while seven 7-inch LCD screens in the driver’s compartment (two in the center counsel and five in the headliner) and a 42-inch Samsung Ultra Thin plasma in the rear enhance in-car entertainment. Every single wiring and installation accessory used was provided by Tsunami and Metra Electronics to ensure the best possible voltage transfer and cleanest audio signal, while Shuriken Power cells support the intricate electrical system of the Titan.

For exterior enhancements, Pro-Line owner, Alex Sinclair converted the Nissan Titan’s front end to that of an Infiniti QX56 and added a Strut grille originally fitted for Range Rovers, in addition to some custom-fitted Strut side vents. A hydraulic actuated flatbed cover in a special zigzag cut opens up to reveal the marvel that is VIBE’s sound system. A strut bag suspension system with chrome air tanks, compressors, and 28-inch massive chrome Estrella Wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Zero 295/25R28 tires provide the finishing touches. Having already been to a pre-Super Bowl party in Texas earlier this year and winning trophy after trophy at numerous car shows, the Titan will return to its owner at the end of the year. Despite an extensive list of mods, Pro-Line Extreme Fabrication did mention that the owner is tossing around the idea to customize the truck’s undercarriage…but we doubt anyone will be noticing that when its system and fiberglass customizations steal the show!

back in the ’80s and ’90s, shopping at your local sports store. The ring doubles for women's mud wrestling at night, so it was a win-win…kidding. We had a huge space and needed a filler and thought a boxing ring was the perfect fit and it flows seamlessly with the whole vibe. Why call it And Still? The idea behind the name was the announcement after a title fight…"And Still" heavyweight champion of the world… What types of items do you carry? We specialize in vintage deadstock sports apparel from the ’80s and ’90s, but also carry most brands from that era. Anything from Starter, Zubaz, Chalk Line, Sports Specialties, Salem Sportswear, Champion, DeLong, The Game, T&C, Vuarnet, Nike, Adidas…you name it we have it. How do you go about finding your vintage gear? If I had a dollar for every time someone asked that question I'd be swimming in money like Uncle Scrooge! Any highly prized vintage scores? One of my all time favorites was a vintage Cosby Show Adidas crewneck that we found last year. I've been told only a dozen, if that, were made for the 4th season (1987) cast and crew. So yeah, it’s pretty rare and sold quick.

Raiders hat on eBay last week for $550. I'm waiting for Guinness World Records to call me back. Do you ever keep for yourself? I keep stuff all the time. The last thing I kept for myself was a pair of OG Sand Knit Celtics "short" shorts. You know, the real short ones that Larry Bird used to wear. I was gonna wear them to the ESPYs after party back in July, but there was a dress code. What’s the most requested item you always get asked about? We always get asked for stuff that *insert rapper(s)* came in and bought for their music video. I try to give people a heads up on the blog, but by the time they realize it’s dope, it’s usually already sold out. What's the craziest request you've ever had? We once got asked to find a pair of game-worn Jonny Kilroy shorts! Why do you think sports gear is so fresh? "Fresh" makes it sound like a trend, and I see sports apparel as timeless. There are some crazy designs that should never be brought back, but most of the stuff is classic in my eyes. A Starter jacket, script hat or a logo tee will never go out of style and as long as sports are being played, people will support their team!

First opening its doors back in May 2008, co-owners Jeremy Shapiro and Kirk Tilton found a prime location for their vintage goodies, positioning themselves along the famed streetwear-oriented boulevard and landed a spot next to UNDFTD. Accessorizing the store with loads of hard-to-find gear, the two also added a mini boxing ring (that doubles as a shelf) in addition to various old school posters of all of your favorite ’90s athletes and hip-hop icons. And for those who don’t live in the area, the guys have so graciously set up an eBay page, sharing their stash with the rest of the world! What made you want to create a vintage sportswear shop? It came out of love for the product but also filled a void. There was no shop in L.A. (or anywhere for that matter) whose sole purpose was bringing back the vintage sports gear that we all wore and loved growing up. What went into the aesthetic of the store and why did you decide to put a mini ring in it? Who are some of your celeb clients or notable repeat customers? Too many celebs/athletes/musicians to name but on any given day you could run into someone. Most recently Kevin Connolly (“E” from “Entourage”) and Tyler the Creator (Odd Future) were in the store shopping. I usually post pictures of such occasions on the blog www.forall2envy.blogspot.com. What’s the most expensive item you've sold or still have for sale? You ever hear of the vintage Santa snapback? Google it. Up until last week the most expensive snapback we sold was the Raiders metal Shield snapback that Ice Cube wore in Boyz N the Hood. We sold it for $500 last year, but I still regret it because it’s the only one I've ever seen, EVER! However we just sold a vintage

Ultimately, what would you like the store to be known for? We are the only store in the world specializing in vintage deadstock sports apparel. ou first met Ami James as one of the many colorful tattoo artists on TLC’s “Miami Ink,” and now he’s back with his own shop, show and rules. Set in New York’s SoHo district, “NY Ink,” the Israeli-born skin artisan has his eyes set on becoming the Tattoo King of NY and is ready to take on the challenge of being the boss man—all the while concentrating on his next best tattoo piece. How did tattoos become your interest? I grew up in the real punk days, so tattoos have almost always been my thing. Fortunately, I got to live the true punk rock era of the ’80s. I have been doing it since I was 12 [laughs]…NOT! I’ve been tattooing since I was 19.

meant success. So, [notoriety] was something I thought about, but I tried not to focus on it. What’s your tattoo style preference? Asian is my style, but I enjoy doing black and grey, too. My favorite type of pieces to do would have to be large Japanese pieces since I really enjoy Asian style the most. But I definitely don’t think I’ve perfected my tattooing skills in any way. I think as an artist you always need to want to improve.

What was your first piece? Hmmm, my first tattoo… I was 13 years old, it was at my house and I did it myself. It said “Miami Punk.” All I could think was, “How bad is this? I wish I actually had a real tattoo machine.”

Who are your tattoo inspirations, pioneers you look up to in the industry? Other tattoo artists, such as Don Ed Hardy, Sailor Jerry, Bob Roberts, Horiyoshi II, are inspirations to me and my work.

What was the journey to becoming a well known name in the industry like, and what’s it like to be considered “famous?” The journey was very hard and very broke. At times I made a lot of money, but most of the time, I made no money. It’s definitely been a financial roller coaster over the years. I never thought I would have so many haters...no not really. But I just really wanted to put the word out and enjoy the experience. I knew getting my name out there

Do you have a favorite piece that you’ve done? The funny thing is I’m never happy with the tattoos I do because I always strive to do something better. So I guess it would have to be a tattoo I have not done yet; it’s always like that for me. What about your own ink? Any favorites? I have one large tattoo at this point. My favorite portion of that piece is the portrait of my beautiful wife on my ribs.

What was it like being on “Miami Ink,” and did having cameras around affect your tattooing? Absolutely, sitting in a room for four years with film crew is not necessarily what I signed up for. Especially, when you think of a career as a tattooist. I think the whole experience of being on the show killed it for me, temporarily anyway. So how did “NY Ink” start? Right now, my favorite shop that I’ve worked at is

my own shop in New York called Wooster Street Social Club. I wanted to create a shop people can walk into and get an amazing piece. I hope that I will have success with this shop like I have always wanted. We are not the custom shop some people may think. To find long term success within that concept would make me happy. Since I’m both an owner and an artist, it’s tough to juggle the business end of things. But after a while you get more experience and it gets easier. Right now, the wait for a tattoo with me really depends on my schedule but I try to make time each week to tattoo. Any cool ink experiences with celebs? don’t like to talk about what a celebrity they are. I guess that’s why I like to tattoo football players. I don’t know much about that sport, so they usually don’t try to tell me too much about it. Has their been a change in tattoo culture since you first began your craft? I think the words “taboo” and “tattoo” are starting to separate after a long marriage and that is a huge change for the culture. Have you done any crazy tats? I was asked to tattoo eyebrows on a lady once. She couldn’t take the pain, so she ended up with only one brow, which obviously looked weird. Do you ever say “no” to clients’ requests? I do not do negative tattoos. What’s been your most challenging tattoo to date? Absolutely, I struggle with every tattoo I do. Not every design makes for a good tattoo. I have to find that happy medium every time I draw something up, and that is a struggle in itself. Anything else besides tattooing you’d like to try your hand at? Painting! I want to go back to my roots—painting and photography. Any last words or advice to others hoping to follow in your footsteps? Be careful for what you wish for....

orn and bred in the L.A. electronic culture, John Dadize, is a musical chameleon. First infiltrating the scene as drum and bass phenomenon “Infiltrata,” he’s since then transformed into 12th Planet, an ode to the mythological planet popularized by author Zecharia Sitchin. Quickly becoming known as “America’s First King of Dubstep,” 12th Planet is ushering in a new era of electronic music as he tours with fellow dubstep extraordinaire Skrillex. Quite the quirky and loquacious character, he graciously took time from his practically never-ending schedule to talk about what keeps 12th Planet in orbit! How did you land on “12th Planet” as your dubstep moniker? It comes from the first creation story [from Babylonian/Mesopotamian mythology] that was ever written called the “Enuma Elish.” It’s about this planet that lives in two solar systems. Once every 3,600 years it crosses into ours and throws the Earth off of its axis and causes crazy stuff to happen. I’m heavy into mythology and was into the fact how this one planet that comes once every blue moon can totally f*ck sh*t up on Earth. It’s like a metaphor to what I do with music. What’s your musical history? I’ve always been interested in music as a kid. My first record was “Bad” by Michael Jackson. I would play it on my Sesame Street record player, as well as Kool Moe Dee. I started listening to electronic music in 8th grade and that started with the deep house movement that got big in L.A. From there I got into hardcore when I was 14 and after I went to my first show, I was hooked. I loved the vibe of the culture and started to DJ, which later transformed into production, so I’m doing both now.

How did you become known as one of the premiere dubstep DJs of today? I didn’t discover dubsetp until I was on tour in England, where I got to see the movement firsthand, about five years ago. I got tired of producing and playing drum and bass as “Infiltrata” and needed something new. It was a very niche scene here in the U.S. and very underground. Back then house and trance were huge here. What caught my attention was how much it sounded like drum and bass, but with a new bpm and just a whole new vibe. Who inspires you the most? People like Skrillex. He’s one of my peers and is like a brother to me. Man, that kid doesn’t stop working. He’s catapulted to success this past year, and he’s the same person from before all of this stuff cracked off for him. He’s on tour practically the entire year and makes music on his computer every single day up until the moment he has to be on stage. That’s just mind-boggling to me, but that’s the mindset and the type of devotion it takes to succeed in this business. All I can do is try to work as hard as him. The same can be said for others like Rusko, Skream and Diplo; they’re nonstop and always working. It might seem by all our tweets that we’re always partying, but we’re really working hard behind the scenes!

music and it didn’t always come easy. What’s your musical creative process like when busting out your remixes? It’s random and absolute chaos. I don’t have a method to my madness. I do what I want and feel. If I wake up in the morning with a feeling to make some hip-hop, I’ll just do it or whatever. When there’s a song or remix I’m vibin’ on, I definitely get into the zone and block everything out. Performance is a different mindset, though. I’m kind of an introvert, when I perform and pretend it’s just me out there behind the decks. I’m playing songs I want to hear or like, and it just so happens that other people like them, too.

What type of dubstep legacy would you like to leave behind? I just want to be mentioned and hope my music had an impact on the fans and the culture if I died tomorrow. I’ve just been trying to push dubstep everywhere and want to be respected for my efforts since I was one of the first guys to push it in America. I really love production as much as I love DJ’ing. I wouldn’t trade in either for a million-dollar job… ever! I don’t see myself doing anything else. They are both just aspects of what I love the most, which is music! Obviously, you’re incredibly successful. When was the moment you realized it? I haven’t had that moment yet. I actually feel like I’m just getting started and it’s been like that since I was 16—which is a motivational factor to be the best and succeed in making music and DJ’ing. I don’t think I’ll ever have that true feeling of accomplishment because I’m the type that will always work harder and keep going. So what’s a MUST in terms of equipment for you to do your magic on? A must is a Pioneer DJM-900 (or even 800) mixer, two Pioneer CDJ-2000s, a microphone and a steel deck ’cause I like to stand on top of the turntables and dance and stuff. Oh, and I need a big front row and someone who can catch and support 160 pounds of weight ’cause I’m jumping on your ass if you’re in the front row for sure! Tell us about SMOG? It’s a record label/event company I co-founded with some friends of mine. At the time, there were only a handful of us who knew what dubstep really was, so we wanted to spread the word about it and created SMOG. It started with one dubstep party, which then turned into many parties, eventually became a record label two years ago. Those parties are still poppin’ off in L.A., and we have since then grown into a bigger entity and had more people join the crew! When can we expect an LP by 12th Planet? t’s been a hot minute since hip-hop has heard anything from former Bad Boy artist Black Rob, whose last release was 2005’s The Black Rob Report. Known for his 2000 hit single “Whoa!,” Black Rob has re-emerged in the game, after being lockedup for four years (and is ready to pick up where he left off! No longer with Bad Boy, the veteran lyricist has signed with indie hip-hop label Duck Down and is bringin’ the heat with his latest batch of fresh joints on Game Tested, Streets Approved.

What went into making your latest album? Really, man, there was a need for it on the streets. It just talks about a lot of situations I’ve been through and the caliber of the album speaks for itself. I did it on my own without a major label behind me, so that was different. We had leeway to do so and just went in and did it. It’s just filled with the feelings of Black Rob. How is it different from prior releases? I feel like every album I made I stepped my game up in some sort of way, whether it was through creativity or delivery. And I felt like The Black Rob Report got shelved since I went to jail, so I couldn’t really promote that joint. So now, this album is a step above. I had to come better than the last album. I had the time to think about it and enough time to write. tracks. On this album, “Celebration” is like my “Whoa!,” you feel me? Everything I did, I tried to pit against tracks from my other two albums. If I was on a major, this album would cause pandemonium right now…trust me. Has being locked up influenced your sound? Prison is what you make of it. If I would have sat on my ass and said f*ck it, f*ck rap, I would have come home and worked a nine-to-five; that would have been my loss. It’s the same circus now, but just different clowns. Everybody makin’ music, but let’s see who comes out on top. I just kept my mind in the streets as if I was never locked up. So my mind was in the streets at all times, which kept me going and got me to where I’m at now. Music has definitely changed since you first started out in it. What are some of the major changes you’ve noticed? It’s all good. I respect it. I don’t have no problem with it because one thing I got that a lot of people don’t got is longevity. So I’m able to go anywhere in the world and make a nice piece of change. This album is gonna set me off. But I will tell you this, there’s a whole lot of singin’ goin’ on now. Everybody wants to sing and a lot of these n*ggas album be like R&B, like they can get an award for R&B/hip-hop. I can’t get that award. It’s not my fault, I just rap. I also don’t need a bunch of people on my album to be like, “Yo, that sh*t is hot!” either. I already know, man…real talk. Black Rob is a brand. He’s not somebody who hasn’t made sufficient amount of noise in the game; I’m not a new artist. Some people might feel that way right now but I’ve got that edge still. After your song, “Whoa” became hot in the streets. Are you coining any other slang terms soon? I got some new slang on my new album, but I’ve always came strong with my own words. For this album, I talk directly to you; like, I’m standing right in front of you, as I’m there tellin’ my story. And that’s how I am on stage. I’m an ill presence, man. I’m a force to be reckoned with. If I got hit records out, it’s a wrap. It’ll be hard to come in behind me. What was it like being part of Bad Boy during its “golden era?” Bad Boy was Bad Boy. Music today is more like Bad

Boy back then ’cause it’s all singin’ and dancing,’ poppin’ bottles in the club…we did that. It’s still all the same sh*t. You gotta keep official in the streets cause that’s where niggas getting’ made or broke. That’s why this album is called Game Tested, Street Approved. Streets been approvin’ my sh*t and they gonna keep approving.’ You also have your own independent label, Box and One. How did this project form? I wanted to start my own label and have it pop off so tremendously, so I didn’t have to go lookin’ for no deal; they’d be comin’ to me with a deal. It’s time to get back in the game, and we have enough music to drop albums for four more years after this. After I pop this off, you’ll be hearing a lot about my artists and those I got on deck. We just movin’ ahead and stepping up in everything we do. The general went down and the team held it down but they couldn’t do too much. So now I’m back and my sh*t is pickin’ up. It ain’t gonna sound like nothing out there. What do you look for in artists? First off, if you a rapper, you got to be better than G-Dep and Petey Pablo, man; two totally different kinds of rappers. G-Dep is so lyrically inclined he can bust five words and crush a whole microphone, while Petey can make anything be hot…real talk. You gotta really show me your skills and be nasty…only way we gonna make an imprint and impact on this game. What do you have going on for the rest of the year? Workin’ some more even though we already got the next album ready to go. I did so many tracks for this album, we got another album ready to go. If I can drop it back-to-back, I will. We goin’ on tour and just gonna keep workin’ some more… it’s all good.

lways a force to be reckoned with on the court, Shaq announced his retirement from basketball back in June after 19 seasons in the game. Walking away with four rings, 28,596 career points and a slew of other accomplishments, the 39-year-old Shaq "Diesel” won’t be too far from the action. A month after he announced his retirement, he revealed plans to work at Turner Sports as a full-time analyst, joining Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley as part of TNT’s “Inside the NBA” studio show. The former basketball player has also been keeping us busy over the years, working with DUB on several of his past vehicle projects. While each of his rides were all highly custom builds, it’s his widebody Ford Mustang—that appeared on the first episode of MTV2’s “The DUB Magazine Project”—that's at the top of the list. “This car is probably some of the best work they’ve done for me,” he compliments. “I’ve always loved Mustangs, but I could never fit into them. So when Myles asked me, ‘What kind of car you want?’ I told him I was tired of the Bentleys, the Ferraris and all the sports cars. I just wanted to be normal, so I said, ‘Hook up one

of those new Mustangs. Can you make me fit? and he said, ‘Sure,’ and I was like, ‘Let’s do it!’”

With only one request about the car’s color, he left everything else up to the team at the DUB Garage! In the dark throughout the build, a couple of his friends ended up seeing the finished product before he did, which resulted in numerous calls to “Superman.” “I was getting calls from some of my friends who saw it, telling me it’s the fattest car ever and how the color was something they’d never seen before. So everybody was seeing my car but me!”

And perfect is what we like to hear! House of Kolor Brandywine was used to get that much loved burgundy color Shaq wanted, while we had the rear of the Mustang was brought out by 5-inches, and the front came out by 2-inches to provide a tough widebody stance. We then used Eibach Pro-kit Performance lowering springs so that when coupled with the widebody mods, the Mustang would have an aggressive posture and the ability to accommodate 22x10 front and

When asked what kind of car best describes him, Shaq first replied a Rolls-Royce Phantom drophead, but quickly changed his mind and pointed to his Mustang. “When you look at me, you might not see a regular guy but I am. When you look at that car, it’s so beautiful and so nice that you have to turn your head and say, ‘Wow!’ So I would be that car right there. I wouldn’t be a fancy car ’cause I’m not a fancy guy.” The DUB Garage team enjoyed working with Shaq throughout the years, and always look forward to seeing what transpires next as he embarks on a new chapter of his life—and customizing whatever car he has his eyes set on next!

We heard you shipped some of your cars to Brazil. What kinds of cars do they have over there? It’s getting to be more like the U.S. We are starting to see more Hummers and Ferraris around in Brazil.

Can you describe how your custom Camaro fits your personality? The car is full of surprises, like a Transformer, it adapts to each situation perfectly.

How do people drive in Brazil compared to America? I think that in Brazil people drive faster.

Which parts of the design were your ideas, and which parts were West Coast Customs' ideas? I asked them to include my “Bee” logo on the car, and the rest was pretty much up to the West Coast Customs team.

What kind of music do you like listening to when you are relaxing and driving? I love R&B, and have been listening to Ne-Yo lately.

What do you like best about your car? It’s hard to say because I like it all. It’s an amazing car and it turned out so great. How does your driving style compare to your fighting style? I drive defensively, but fight offensively. When you are training here in America, do you like to stay in Vegas near UFC headquarters or here in Southern California? L.A. is a second home to me. I love Redondo Beach and the South Bay area. When I am in Redondo Beach I feel like I am in a small town; it’s very peaceful. Rio de Janeiro is a big, noisy city. What do you like best about America? What about Brazil? The U.S. has great infrastructure like the airports and the freeways; everything works perfectly. In Brazil some things are different, but they are definitely getting better.

I like singing [laughs]. I would love to test myself with boxing—it’s a personal wish that I have. How much longer do you want to keep fighting? For as long as I am still healthy to be fighting. Fans know you as being an unstoppable force in the cage. What are some things they would be surprised to learn about you? I’m just a regular guy. I like to have fun, be with my friends and my family, and play video games or paintball. Any final words for your fans? Thanks for all the support through these years! What about when you're preparing for a fight? I’ll listen to the same stuff—some R&B and some hip-hop. You actually danced on stage in Vegas with the JabbaWockeeZ. How did that happen? The guys from JabbaWockeeZ are awesome. They have a great show, and I always go see them perform when I’m in Vegas…we’re good friends. It helps to have good rhythm when dancing. How does having good rhythm help you with your standup and grappling techniques? Rhythm is important—it keeps your flow going.

How do you feel when people call you the greatest fighter in the history of the sport? I am proud of my own efforts throughout the years. I love my job and thank God everyday for being healthy and able to do what I love. How does the crowd reaction to you affect you (when your fans cheer for you and when haters boo you)? I respect the fans and understand how they feel. It’s not always possible to please everyone, but I understand

We remember in your PRIDE days, when you used to come into the ring dancing like Michael Jackson. Why haven't we seen you come to the Octagon like that? Fans would love it! I’m not sure. I don’t like repeating things like that, but it was fun when I did it. How did you meet and start training with Steven Seagal? Training with Steven Seagal is an honor. mber Rose is a modern-day sketch of the classic, post-WWII era pin-up girls – beautiful, curvaceous and oozing with sex appeal! And just like famous pin-ups Bettie Page, Marilyn Monroe and Betty Grable, Amber has joined their ranks to become a bona fide sex symbol.

However, the statuesque exotic dancer turned model is pretty modest about her status. “It’s weird to look at myself as that because, for me, which is a far cry from the prototypical models we see in magazines and television. “I just represent women with real curves. I have real boobs and a butt, and am all about natural beauty, which is why I think a lot of women relate to me,” Amber proudly exclaims. Dressed in ’50s-style glam (complete with pin curls), Amber’s charismatic and bubbly personality lit up the studio and produced smiles on everyone present at the photo shoot.

I’m just Amber from South Philly,” she explains. “I guess it’s pretty cool and a big compliment that men think I’m sexy.” But it’s not only men that are enthralled by Amber’s beauty. Enlisted to join Amber at the shoot was Oscar Nunez’s 1956 Chevy Bel Air. This ’56 Chevy isn’t your run-of-the-mill Bel Air that was dusted off and given a shiny paint job. What started off as a clunker dug up from a car graveyard was resurrected to an immaculate American classic. This Bel Air came to the shop without a motor, interior or moldings. A frame-off restoration was necessary to bring this beauty back to life, requiring the entire vehicle to be disassembled with all parts, nuts and bolts cleaned, and all missing accessories replaced. A three-year restoration project, the ’56 Chevy kept its nostalgic exterior, but also received

modern upgrades to keep up with the times. A sophisticated 4-link rear suspension, LS1 Corvette motor transplant, Baer big brake kit and a set of 20-inch/22-inch Forgiato Ritorno forged wheels wrapped in Toyo Tires, were some of the modifications done to revitalize the Bel Air. It seems like this classic beauty will never show her age. Despite such elaborate modifications, it was the Bel Air’s radiating two-tone House of Kolor Root Beer Brown with Tangelo Orange paint scheme that our personal pin-up for the day loved most. After the shoot, she hopped in the driver’s seat to take it out for a spin. “It was like driving

around in a boat,” she gushes. “This is definitely a car you’d want to cruise Hollywood in! I was a bit scared to drive it at first because I didn’t want to mess it up or anything…but the whole experience was the sh*t!” The former East Coast native and now Angeleno also gave us the lowdown on her dream car, a ’64 or ’67 Lincoln Continental, which she has yet to get her hands on now that she’s in a driving city like L.A. “Once my life settles down a bit, I’m gonna get an ill whip like a Continental. I’ve always loved that car since I was a little girl. I used to watch West Coast music videos like Dr. Dre and Ice Cube with all their old school rides and knew I’d get myself a fly ride that would be different from what you normally see on the streets. You don’t see that in Philly, so I was, like, ‘When I get older, I’m going to get me one of those hot cars.’ But I wanted one in bright pink back then; now I’ll take one in black. But I have to admit; I’m also feeling Oscar’s Bel Air. I love big cars!” Amber’s schedule has become a bit chaotic since immersing herself in various projects. In typical Hollywood fashion, Amber has already landed her first acting role in a Sci-Fi thriller and is also filming a reality show—where she’s out to show the world who the real Amber Rose is despite many misconceptions flying around about her persona in the media. Everybody knows about her high-profile relationship with one of hip-hop’s biggest names, which brought about many headlines referencing her as a fame chaser.

“Really, fame isn’t my goal in life,” she asserts. “It isn’t a drug for me and was just something that came along. But I don’t need fame; I just like to do what I like to do and if things happen, great. If not, oh well. It wasn’t something planned or anything.” In fact, everything in Amber’s life has been unplanned. Her rags-to-riches story began when an agent in NYC approached her about being in music videos. Not really into it at first, she decided to take on one job, which later led to cameos in numerous videos, including Young

While a great launching pad for her modeling career that blossomed when she signed with Ford Modeling Agency, you won’t see her in any more videos unless it’s for her boyfriend, rapper Wiz Khalifa—who has been a huge inspiration as she adjusts to her newfound celebrity status. “He makes me happy and also teaches me a lot and always says, ‘Babe, the only thing that matters is that you have people that love you, so

the people that hate or judge you don’t matter because you have genuine people around you who love you and know who you are.’ And that’s how I live life now.” Aside from her big screen and TV endeavors, Amber is also recording tracks for an upcoming album she plans on releasing when the time “feels right.” She’s also hosting her own show on Jamie Foxx’s “Foxxhole Radio” on Sirius/ XM radio with a couple of girlfriends, as they “shoot the sh*t” on women’s topics. But that’s not all, as the ambitious model looks to launch a sunglasses and make-up line in the near future. “I want to do things that make me happy,” Amber says about all her projects. “I’m not out to be

I just want to be a successful entrepreneur and mogul and just keep building my brand.” As she builds her brand, Amber would also like to inspire young fans she tenderly calls her “rose buds.” “I struggled growing up,” she reveals. “I was a stripper at 15, I’ve been homeless and have been through a lot of sh*t. I want to empower and inspire young girls and don’t want them to live the same life I had. I don’t want to tell them, ‘Be like me and date somebody who’s super famous, and then you’ll become famous, and your life will be okay.’ It’s not really like that in reality, you know? What happened to me was one in a billion, and it all happened by chance. I want my fame to be a positive impact and be used for good, which is why I’m working hard and still being real while doing it all.” While Amber may embody the essence of a retro pin-up with a present-day twist, she’s not going to let that define her and is out to expand her image into a fortified brand to inspire an entirely new generation of pin-up girls.

ot too many people are afforded the opportunity to live out their childhood dreams as their profession. But Large of Bowtie Connection Miami is one of those exceptions. He saw his first Lowrider at 14, when a Monte Carlo and a Grand Prix pulled up in front of his school and hit the switches. “What the hell is that?” he exclaimed. At that moment he knew that he had to build and own one. His introduction to Lowriders while in junior high school sparked a fascination that later became his lifestyle, passion and calling. At 17, he bought a 1978 Monte Carlo and started wrenching on it. Having no money for a hydraulic suspension, he and his friends took off the coil springs and began Lowriding. “I would sometimes leave school early and if I couldn’t, I would leave last out of the parking lot just so no one would clown me if I got stuck [on a speed bump],” Large laughed. It wasn’t until 1999 when he started his classic Lowrider masterpiece, using a 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS as his blank canvas. The Impala quickly became one of the baddest cars on the streets of Miami despite only having a custom paint job, wire wheels and hydraulics. A few years later, Large decided to do a complete makeover, which resulted in numerous magazine features that acknowledged the craftsmanship and creative inspiration involved to complete this work of art.

The opportunity to open a shop in Miami, Florida came up when John Kennedy of Bowtie Connection Los Angeles asked Large to carry on his shop’s respectable name and raise the Bowtie Connection banner among the Lowriding community in the South. The opening of Bowtie Connection Miami brought the third makeover of the 1964 Chevy Impala SS. The car that once graced the pages of magazines was again pulled apart, stripped down to bare metal and received a frame-off restoration. Thus began the Impala’s transformation into another magnus opus, with Large orchestrating the build and fellow builders Ben Federico and Chris Stull at his side. With the frame reinforced and suspension parts chromed and installed, the Impala was ready to receive a custom-painted chrome and gold Chevy LT1 motor transplant. To finish off the project, the Impala was given a HOK magenta paint job. Leather and suede upholstery, interior fiberglass work, custom audio system, freehand pinstriping, airbrushed artwork and intricate engravings complete the detailed modifications that make this Lowrider sit at the apex of car customization.

More than happy with his handiwork, Large wanted a name for the masterpiece that would set him apart from the competition and elevate him to the forefront of Lowriding history. In celebration of the creativity, blood, sweat and work involved with the project, the 1964 Chevrolet Impala was named “Certified Gangster”—a magenta, chrome and goldengraved beast that not only wins “Best of Show” awards, but also cruises the streets of Dade County, Florida. When asked why magenta was chosen as the primary color for the Lowrider, Large replied: “Everyone always uses the same old colors and I am not like everyone else. I go against the current and do things that the older guys do not look at as traditional. I am a trendsetter, and I changed the game forever.”

bit of change is always a welcomed trait. Just ask Jay Ivey, owner of the Texasbased shop, Branded Customs (formerly Hack Shack). We first introduced you to the customization shop known across the industry for their superior abilities to slam any car to the ground or provide a bit of height to some of Texas’ monstrous trucks. But Ivey wanted to change the image of his business from only specializing in suspension to becoming known as one of the Lone Star State’s premiere full-service customization shops. After 10 years of being Hack Shack, Ivey decided it was time to evolve into Branded Customs and officially made the change back in October 2010. “I wanted new and old clients to see the shop as more than just being able to do great suspension jobs and felt it needed a name change to do so,” Ivey explains. “While we still do excellent suspension work, we also do a number of other car customizations like high-end audio systems,

superior wheel and tire packages, custom interiors— basically, the works. As Branded Customs, I felt we’d be able to change the way people thought about the shop and see us as a one-stop place for all their car customizations needs.” Since the change, requests for custom suspensions are still high, but Ivey has seen an increase for custom audio/video installations. “I would say it’s now 50/50 between those two, in terms of what Branded Customs specializes in now,” he comments. “But, we literally get requests to do it all.” What hasn’t changed at all is the quality of work they put into each of the cars that enter the shop. “We have the same team, with a few additions here and there, so expect nothing but superior service and nothing less than the best in terms of results. Branded Customs only employs knowledgeable, experienced and certified employees.” Always on the look out for new talent, Ivey only wants those that possess the three aforementioned qualifications to work on their

Currently, the guys at Branded Customs have ve seen a rise in the number of people bringingg in their Dodge Challengers for some upgrades, es, including full-out audio/interior/wheel builds. ds. Ivey admits that the shop always sees at least ast one Challenger a week, noting one occasion where the guys in the shop were working on n five at once. “The Challenger has been out for or a while now and people are finally spending the he money to get them all worked on.” They’ve also had a rise in the number of exotic cars, with Lamborghini Gallardos being the top model. “We’re hoping Hack Shack’s transformation to Branded Customs will not only get the attention of local car enthusiasts, but also peak the interest of those around the nation looking for unique creations.” And as Ivey promotes his “new” shop, he’s already looking into future changes, such as adding paint and body to his extensive list of in-house services, as well as moving to a larger location and at some point, expanding Branded Customs to include numerous locations. “Change is always welcomed here, but only if it’s for the better!”

I

n their 10-year existence, Nokturnal has become one of the nation’s largest and most notable car clubs. They’re also slowly working on their global presence with chapters overseas. Founded in Los Angeles in 2001 by a bunch of friends from various clubs who wanted to form a larger car club, Nokturnal has evolved into the respected club its become thanks to the guidance of its centralized elite council—who have rejuvenated club dynamics and sparked the

enthusiasm for stepping up their car game with eye-popping customizations. Tony “Scooby” Reyñaga —president of the Bakersfield, CA, chapter, elite council member and the catalyst to the club’s outward expansion back in 2006—along with current L.A. president and elite council head Hector “Zacatecas” Esquivel oversee the entire club’s operations and are the two behind what they consider “the renovated and enhanced

Nokturnal.” Reshaping the club’s inner workings three years ago, Scooby and Zacatecas are proud of the club’s accomplishments and look to take Nokturnal farther than the streets it grew from and the numerous car shows they dominate into becoming a mainstream lifestyle brand. What made you guys decide on joining Nokturnal? Scooby: I’ve been in the club for six years now. Before Nokturnal, I was

a part of a Lowrider crew and a truck club. I had seen the guys at various car shows and would hang out with them. They’d always try to enlist me, until finally I decided to join them. They’re just cool guys and I felt I fit along with them really well. Zacatecas: I've been part of this club for five years now. I’ve always liked custom cars and, like a lot of people, started in the Lowrider scene. I also belonged to a Lowrider club when I was younger. I spotted Nokturnal at

club. Each chapter then has their own council that’s in charge of their members, but still has to go through the elite council when they want to do things. What’s the process of becoming a member of Nokturnal? Zacatecas: It’s really simple, despite some stories out there that say it’s extensive. Basically you have to have heart, commitment and be able to attend meetings. It takes four meetings before we even consider looking at your car. After that, a person is on probation status, but once they get three body modifications on their car, they get a side window sticker. Once you have

a DUB show in 2006 and with the persistence of Hector "Paisa," joined one the best clubs around. How did the club get to be where it’s at now? Zacatecas: It started like any other small club does, on the streets. We got the name out there and would cruise a lot. After the name became recognized in the streets, we took it to the next level and started doing car shows, as well as enlisted more members. We had a lot of builds that put us on the map like Raider’s “Maggi” Magnum, Sinister’s Chrysler 300 that was shown at the 2006 SEMA Show and, most recently, Edgar's “Massive Destruction” SUV that was on the cover of DUB last year. Then Scooby came in 2005 and helped expand the club outside of L.A., which sparked all our new chapters. Now we’re just looking to stay on top and keep winning at all the shows.

When was the transition from the first council to this new one? Zacatecas: When the club first started in 2001, everyone was very young and had a lot of time to devote to the club. As we grew in chapters, those on council had more responsibility. A lot of the original elite council members started to retire given they were starting families or busy with their day jobs, making it difficult to continue on the club’s council. At that point, we as a club decided that it was a great opportunity to inject new blood into the council. I was voted to Nokturnal’s elite council in 2008, taking over Luis “Raider” Barrios’ position that he held since 2001. How many chapters are there now? What about potential ones you’re working on? Scooby: Right now, there are 15

How does the club operate? Zacatecas: There are 10 council members in Los Angeles since we are the mother chapter and make a lot of the club’s decisions and oversee all the business, chapters, etc. We vote on everything as a council, so there’s never only one person deciding on things for the club. We’re currently the second council in the club’s 10-year history. Before, each council member would hold their position until other club members didn’t think you were doing your job properly, but now we have a system where the club votes every three years for its head council.

chapters, including Japan. We’re all over California, in Las Vegas, Texas and Arizona. There are three potential ones that are in the process of becoming full-fledged Nokturnal chapters, which are Chicago, Virginia and Spain. We make sure we visit each potential chapter before making them official. We aren’t a club that starts new chapters right away; we take our time in the whole process. We don’t want people who don’t want to be in it for the long run, and want to make sure we have dedicated people as part of the

five body modifications, a person is eligible for full member status, which we vote on, and then they get a front windshield sticker. The highest thing we can award a member is plaque status, which happens once you have seven body modifications and you’ve been in the club for at least a year and a half. Scooby: You have to have a good attitude to be a part of Nokturnal. Everybody gets a chance to be a part of the club, even with those who don’t have cars that we call “shot

gunners.” They might not have a car, but they help out any way they can like supporting us at shows, helping set up or clean the cars, etc. Some of these members go all out, more than even some of the full-fledged members. We treat them the same as we treat any other members. How has the club evolved throughout the years? Zacatecas: We like to take our cars

to the next level so that they don’t look like anything out there. We’re definitely going in a positive direction and are getting bigger. At the last L.A. DUB show, we took “Best Car Club” and had three “Best of Show” cars, so that proves what kind of club we are. Our members are tailoring their cars more and taking that extra step to make their rides wild. We’re after those “Best of Show” trophies, which requires a lot more work on the

cars. It’s going to happen, but we just have to be patient because of the economy right now since a lot of the guys aren’t spending as much money on their cars. What are the club’s future goals? Zacatecas: Our goal is to have a chapter in every state, but we’re currently happy with how many we have at the moment. We’d also like to expand Nokturnal into a brand

and come out with club memorabilia like shirts, videos and stuff like that. Scooby: We just want to stay on top and win “Best Club” at all shows! F

or the past 17 years, bike enthusiast Brian Boudreau has built five custom creations, with his latest endeavor a totally one-off Bagger. “Big wheeled bikes are the next thing,” he comments. “Ten years ago, Jesse James came out with the chopper look and everybody had to have one. Now it’s all about Baggers, which is why I decided to build one.” A Bagger is a Harley-Davidson bike with rear bags and full front fairing. “It’s as if you’re taking an old man’s bike and making it young!” Boudreau laughs. Although he didn’t personally build the bike himself, Boudreau did come up with the ideas and design for it all, stating he’s developed “an eye for what’s new” when it comes to motorcycles. Taking six months to fully complete, the Canyon Lake, CA resident enlisted several different shops to help bring his Bagger vision to life.

“IT’S AS IF YOU’RE TAKING AN OLD MAN’S BIKE AND MAKING IT YOUNG!” With his first Bagger build, Boudreau added a 26-inch front wheel, integrated an iPad into the dash, and powder-coated everything. “The level of detail put into this bike sets it far above my other builds,” he explains. A week after it was done, Boudreau showed it off at the annual Laughlin River Run this past April (the largest motorcycle event on the West Coast). With the intention to turn heads, Boudreau actually got an offer for the bike he couldn’t refuse and decided to part with it. 2012 ASTON MARTIN VIRAGE NEVER JUST “ASTON”

A

ccording to one of professional sports’ occasional truths, sometimes the greatness of an athlete is less defined by his own traits than his ability to match an equally powerful rival. Simply put, the greatest competitors are often defined by their adversaries as much as themselves. While this is somewhat true in team sports (think Celtics/Lakers or the Braves/ Yankees match-ups of the ’90s), it is particularly relevant in an individual sport like boxing, where an off night cannot be overcome by the efforts of a teammate. Would Muhammed Ali have been “the greatest” without Joe Frazier? Ray

Leonard as “Sugar” without Roberto Duran? And as indestructible as he currently is, was there not a more dramatic flair to Manny Pacquiao during his ferocious battles with Erik Morales? In that great tradition, the latest grand touring offering from Aston Martin, the Virage, deserves a foe worthy of its powerful V-12, dynamic handling, and poster boy good looks. Which is exactly what Southern California’s Angeles Crest Highway

provided for the 3,935-pound, Gaydon, England-born 2012 Aston Martin Virage. The 66.87-mile stretch (sporting brand new asphalt) in L.A., CA is the infamous stretch of California Route 2, for our nonAngeleno readers out there. Long treasured by local motoring enthusiasts for its non-stop switchbacks through the San Gabriel Mountains, the Angeles Crest Highway was closed following the 2009 Station Fire, which destabilized the soil around the road, causing mass erosion when the inevitable rainy season arrived. Fortunately, the road was recently repaved and finally opened for public use this past June—just in time for twelve rounds with the

pedigreed Aston Martin. The Virage’s tale-of-the-tape requires slightly less explanation. If you’re familiar with the DB9 or the DBS, then you already understand what makes the Virage tick. Like those other cars, the Virage is envisioned as a grand touring Aston Martin (even though its rear seat is suitable for little more than a carry-on bag), as opposed to the smaller, less luxurious but more overtly sporting Vantages that also inhabit the current model line-up. Placed between the DB9 and the DBS price-wise, the Virage employs the same 5.9-liter V-12 as those cars, though in a state of tune halfway between the comfortoriented DB9 and the balls-out DBS (which was James Bond’s most recent

console, the DSC function can be held down for four seconds to engage Track Mode, the system’s most encompassing and sporty setting. As an indication of just how serious Track Mode is, the digital speedometer within the beautiful jeweled analog gauges disappears, replaced with an announcement that Track Mode has been activated. Though Aston Martin claims Track Mode merely delays electronic assist in the technologically astute suspension, it actually felt lower and more in touch with the road. Communicativeness is an overused term in the description of sports car suspensions, but it’s warranted here, so pronounced is the difference from the default mode. Truly brave souls can go all the way with a second push of the DSC button, which turns the system off entirely. “Not necessarily recommended,” as the delivering vehicle handler told me, and while I was later looking down huge gorges couldn t with little room for error, I couldn’t

agree more. Nevertheless, if you can get the car out on the safety of a track, there’s no harm in trying to throw the rear end out a little, though good luck with that, given the Virage’s literally perfect front/ rear weight distribution of 50/50. As the fight wore on, Angeles Crest’s series of jabs and counterpunches were of little effect on the Virage’s impregnable defense. Only once did I feel the need to tone down my speed a little, while trying to pursue a rabid Porsche GT2 that was clearly as eager as I was to tear up the highway’s new asphalt. The Virage gamely hung with the Stuttgart track star for a few miles (there’s nothing like finding yourself in the company of fellow fight fans!) before I remembered whose car I was driving. In addition to the howling GT2, the highway played host that day to caravans of whining Japanese crotch rockets, tricked-out tuner car convoys, and a delightful spate of vintage Austin Healeys out Austin-Healeys for a rollicking tour. When the final bell sounded, it

Developing 490 horsepower at 6,500 rpm, the Virage rage also features the DBS’ intricate stability control programming, with its adaptive damping and springing, as well as a number of suspension modes that range from positively luxurious to daringly sporty. So how would the agile looker, which wears a new fascia derived from the untouchable One-77 supercar, stand up to the challenge of the dangerously curvy and freshly paved chutes that make up the Angeles Crest Highway? (And just to clarify, dangerous is no exaggeration—the road claimed three accident fatalities within as many weeks after re-opening!) In the first round, so to speak, the Virage came out flying. Aston Martin claims the car reaches 60 mph from standstill in just 4.6 seconds, and it felt at least that fast as the car leapt into the foothills that preface the highway’s rise into the mountains. Eighty-five percent

of the Virage’s 420 lb.-ft. of torque is available at only 1,500 rpm, translating into gobs of butterfl ybutterflyinducing acceleration. Drivers can enact a series of features that tune the car to increasingly sporty plateaus. Primarily, the dashboard-mounted glass button marked “S” activates a Sport mode that stiffens the suspension and revises shift points of the default automatic transmission setting of the 6-speed Touchtronic 2 gearbox. Not enough? Then just a tug of either of the column mounted paddle shifters will seamlessly put the car in a manual transmission mode, allowing for lightning quick shifts, complete with automatic throttle blips. With the exception of a downshift to 1st gear, perhaps, there’s no transmission lag or lurch to be found here. But if that level of driver involvement isn’t quite enough, the Dynamic Stability Control button beckons. As another of the ornate glass buttons on the dash

became clear the Virage had earned a majority decision. Never ruffled and certainly not bloodied, the new V-12 Aston presents as impeccably as its stable mates, with comfortable 10way electronic sport seats, Alcantara headliner, and exquisitely jeweled analog gauges that impart both sophistication and tradition. Top-of-the-line Bridge of Weir leather and a 1,000-Watt, 13-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system round out a list of options that complement stellar new standard features, like walnut fascia trim, single bi-xenon headlamps, and rising swan-wing doors that have been lifted from the Rapide sport sedan (great for preventing curb rash). Perhaps tale-of-the-tape dissections and round-by-round breakdowns were never necessary to determine the nature of this match-up, for the winner was already clarified in the young challenger’s name: Virage – French for “bend.” If there’s any truth to the phrase, “fight fire with fire,” than what better way to conquer the bends of Angeles Crest than with a car named “bend.” The dangerous Angeles Crest Highway may not literally be a Joe Frazier-like rival to the Virage’s Ali, but if the car were to suddenly go into verse about how it’s the greatest, no one would disagree.

n May 14th, the Charlotte Convention Center was the happening place to be, as the 2011 DUB Show Tour took over the city. The Rim Shop killed with their jaw-dropping line-up of cars and took home the crown for “Best Booth.” Auto Extremes went home with the “Best Retail Shop” trophy for providing some serious eye candy for all. The Green Hornet’s

“Black Beauty” in Sony’s booth was a crowd pleaser, while fans lined up to get autographs and take pictures with UFC Bantamweight fighter Brain Bowles at UFC’s display. The Monster Energy Zone was the place to hang out, get free beverage samples and scope out thier Monster Show cars and bikes. Besides all the thumping bass

coming from many of the custom rides and interactive booths, Charlotte’s concert stage was booming with excitement thanks to heavy-hitting performances from artists like Juve, Hillside Boyz, Rebel Gang, ID TYcoon, King Carter and Bettie Grind, while Kia Shine, Ace Hood, Young Joc, Waka Flocka came out to close and killed it!

exas got a double dose of the DUB Show Tour when we landed in Houston’s Reliant Center on May 22nd for the eighth stop of this year’s tour. The city’s car game just keeps getting better and better every year we visit, and this year was the biggest yet! Nokturnal Car Club made the trek all the way from L.A and took home second and third place “Best of Show” trophies, while the Texas Chapter of Swift Car Club took home “Best Club.”

Boost Mobile’s display had the most buzz with tons of visitors trying to win loads of free stuff and get their picture with Trae the Truth, who had one of the longest signing lines of the day! UFC’s booth provided some competition, as UFC fighter Leonard Garcia stopped by to greet fans. Shaq’s widebody ’Stang was not to be missed, while Meguiar’s raffled off some 20-inch Savini wheels and gave away free samples! Pioneer’s display had their one-off Scion tC and

n Saturday, July 16th, it was Chi-Town’s turn to experience DUB culture, as we visited the McCormick Place for the ninth stop of our 2011 DUB Show Tour. Car crews came out strong this year and really showed us who runs car culture in The Windy City! The “DUB Magazine Project” booth was packed all day with people waiting in line to cop one of the new shirts. UFC fans got their fix, as fighter

Miguel Torres signed autographs in the UFC booth, and Toyo Tires featured Anthony Pettis at their display. Ford’s display showcased what happens when we customize new rides like the new Fiesta, while Concept Motorsports showed off their wide selection of custom wheels and some of the coolest T-Rex’s around.
