Since 1985 there has been a steadily-growing cargo throughput of containers, cars, bulk, break-bulk, and general cargo. This we believe, has resulted from the attention and service given to customers offering fast ship loading and discharge, quick turnaround and efficient loading and despatch of transport

Reflecting this confidence, the Company has since 1985 spent £2 million on new handling equipment. Our machinery stock now includes 6-38 ton container handlers with telescopic spreaders and 51 forklifts ranging in capacity from 3 tons to 25 tons. We also invested in a range of special purpose machines and equipment to handle specific cargoes - Bobcats, traxcavators, mechanical shovels, Mafi-tractor units, payloaders, split-arm rotating clamps and 1.5 - 3.0 cu.m, grabs.

The major proposed Port investment programme of £24 million in additional facilities in the Deep Sea area offers the exciting prospect ofan even better service to the customer and increasing cargo volumes.
