GIRLS FOOTBALL

Term 2 of football consisted of the DASSA Knockout Cup and the BSAK 7s tournament. All our teams were determined to win and worked hard throughout the season. Starting off with the U12 team, beating Raffles international school 1-0, they were into the semi-finals. However, they were faced with tough opponents in the semis which unfortunately resulted in a loss to JESS. The U13 team were unfortunately not very lucky this term losing out to DESC in the quarter finals of the cup. However, 5 members on the team had started playing for the U14’s who had an amazing season. The U14’s played two games prior to the knockout cup; they played English College beating them 1-0 and the ADISSA select squad also winning 5-1. When the tournament began, the girls flew through the matches beating teams (English College, Safa and KSAB) with no less than a 2-goal margin. They then reached the Cup Final playing against DESC where despite their hard work and undying efforts they unfortunately lost placing them 2nd in the cup. Additionally, they placed 3rd out of 11 teams in the BSAK 7s tournament. The U16 had a phenomenal season this term. They were undefeated in the matches leading up to the cup final playing WSO (9-1), EIS (2-1) and Nord Anglia (3-1). In the final they faced Gems World Academy and showed them who was boss, by winning the trophy beating GWA with an astonishing 11-0. Finally, the U19s had an interesting season. Winning the plate in the BSAK 7s tournament, we were ready for the cup matches. However, to our surprise nearly all our matches had been cancelled (we like to think it was because they were too afraid of us) This automatically put us into the semi-finals where we played GWA Leading 10 for the majority of the game, we unfortunately lost our chances at the final in the second half knocking us out the cup. Although there have been many wins and losses, I am sad to see the football season coming to an end. Despite this, I want to say a big well done to everyone that participated.
