SOWING SEEDS
Jesus said that God’s word is seed (Mark 4:14). And like all seeds, God’s word is full of life, and whenplantedasaseed,italwaysbearsfruit.
Throughoutmyfourdecadesofministry,wehave receivednumerouscallsandnotesfrombelievers describing the impact the messages have made intheirlives,especiallyamongtruckdrivers
In the early 1980s, the ministry began delivering boxes of cassette tapes and later CDs to truck stops A group of four truck drivers – Ronnie, Billy, Nathan,andBillbecamesowersoftheseed.They would pick up boxes of CDs at DSM and leave themattruckstopsacrosstheUnitedStates.This group of men would approach fellow drivers at thetruckstopsandengagetheminconversation, asking if they wanted to hear God’s word. Sometimes, they would even trade their cassette or CD with another driver who had a different message.
Due to his involvement with the truck ministry, Ronnienowownsamen'srehabfacilitythathelps menovercometheiraddictions.Herecentlycalled toexpresshisgratitudeandletusknowhowDSM hasimpactedhislife.
Many retired truck drivers have become Impact Partners,supportingDSMtosharetheGoodNews of the Gospel, while others have been called into full-timeministry.
Anotherretiredtrucker,Ralph,pickeduponeofmy CDsatatruckstopandprayedthesinner'sprayer with me at the end of one of my messages while sitting in his truck. "My life was tremendously transformed,”Ralphsaid.“IwenttoBiblecollegefor eightyears,andDuanehasbeenmyinstructor.”
