Aya Mori Aya Mori is a Japanese-born and trained ceramicist, transforming wheel-thrown pots into complex sculptures. The artist’s traditional rounded bases are exaggerated through her process of adding, subtracting, and blending new elements: slicing planes, adding walls, and laying clusters of ceramic pedals. Mori’s forms blend traditional ceramics and the man made products of craft with the untethered organic forms of nature. Mori continues to live and produce artwork in Japan, with a studio and workshop in Aichi.
