Site Information: Port Covington is currently an underutilized industrial area in Baltimore that is now being master planned by Sagamore Development.

The master plan includes a mixed-use community where people can work, live, and shop. The demographics of Baltimore allow for this site to be easily accessible by bike, car, bus and light rail. The site has great features such as beautiful waterfront opportunities and open public green spaces.

CONCEPT

Orthopedics has to do with bones and muscles. After a patient has surgery they need to get out of bed and move.

When moving, you are bending your joints which is a curved motion. This curved or scallop shape embodies this movement and helped form the shape of the hospital.

INTERMEDIATE REVIEW • Create a connection to Founder’s Park • Create open public Green Spaces • Create more private green spaces for Patients and Visitors • Include separate areas for all patient, staff and service use
