This month’s Community Champion initiative featured founder of the Chicagoland nonprofit, Gyrls in the H.O.O.D. Foundation. The organization hosted its Grand Opening event with grocery giveaways, community resources and more, along with a closet giveaway event where community members are invited to “shop” for free clothing, shoes, household items and more.
To the founders surprise we attended the events with donations of baby items, groceries, shoes and apparel from DTLR and volunteers to help where needed. We also presented a check to the organization, recognizing the important work they are doing in and for their community.
