DTLR recently partnered with Puma and hip hop star Toosii in multiple cities alongside his “Thank You for Believing” tour. On Nov. 8, Toosii made his second stop in the Midwest at DTLR’s Belmont Plaza location (2000 E. 8 Mile) on Detroit’s 8 Mile Road. Detroit’s meet and greet was promoted on-air by Hot 107.5 Detroit, as well as on the radio station’s Instagram, @HipHopDetroit. Advertisements also ran via DTLR Radio in all stores across the country, and via @DTLRLifestyle and @DTLRRadio on Instagram. The event was hosted by DTLR Radio’s Fadam Got Da Juice, with Hot 107.5’s DJ Twist on DJ control. Customers who purchased any Puma product the day of the event received a free copy of Toosii’s latest album, as well as a wristband to meet and take a picture with the artist.

DARE TO GIVE SEASONS FEEDINGS

In Miami, DTLR took the opportunity to bless families across the Tri-County area with three different food distributions. In partnership with the Miami-Dade Department of Corrections, DTLR gave away more than 500 turkeys at the Gwen Cherry Park in Miami. Residents started lining up at 5 a.m., and along with a turkey, they received nonperishable items, PPE and hot meals.
In Broward County, DTLR joined forces with the Broward County Outreach Center to distribute hot meals, haircuts, PPE and other items to the homeless community in the area. Simultaneously, DTLR partnered with recording artist and Florida native Kodak Black to distribute over 5,000 turkeys to the Tri-County area over a three-day tour with seven stops in the area. Residents in Sistrunk, Sunland, Delray Beach, Fort Lauderdale, North Miami, Little Haiti and Golden Acres, home of the rapper, were gracious to receive the staple for their holiday meal.

DALLAS

In Dallas, we partnered with local nonprofit For Oak Cliff to give away $5,000 in gift cards for 200 Dallas families to purchase turkeys for Thanksgiving. All gift cards were donated by DTLR as part of our ongoing “Dare to Thrive” health initiative to provide families in need with nutritious food. During the gift card giveaway, which was part of For Oak Cliff’s Heart of Harvest gift card and food box giveaway, community members also received donations of other food items in preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday. The giveaway took place at the Glendale Shopping Center in South Dallas.

In Detroit, we partnered with local professional boxer Tony Superbad Harrison and his gym, which is located in a neighborhood considered to be a food desert, to give away 200 turkeys and donate 20,000 pounds of fresh produce and nonperishable food items to families in need in Detroit, just in time for Thanksgiving. All of the turkeys and fresh produce were donated by DTLR. To ensure the safety of volunteers and those receiving food, all DTLR staff and volunteers wore masks and gloves and placed the food boxes directly into the cars of each recipient.

In Baltimore, we continued our longstanding partnership with the Bea Gaddy Family Center for their annual donation drive to provide Thanksgiving meals to Baltimore families in need. During the event on Nov. 23, volunteers from DTLR, Bea Gaddy Family Center and other organizations collected canned goods and other donations from the public and sorted the items in preparation for the food giveaway to community members, which took place in Patterson Park Recreation Center on Thanksgiving Day. DTLR also donated $1,000 and fresh produce items to the effort, and DTLR Radio was on-site to broadcast live from the meal-packing event.
