Supplies: 1 Athletic Sock • 1 Fluffy Sock • Rice • 3 Rubber Bands • Fuzzy Beard Material • Flannel or Felt for Hat • Fiber Fill • Hot Glue Gun & Hot Glue • Wood Bead (Optional)

Step 1: Fill the plain sock with rice, close off the top of the sock with a rubber band.

Step 2: Cut out a “U” shape with the fuzzy beard material. It should be the length of your fuzzy sock, and the width should go from one side of the sock to the other. Think ear to ear.

Hot glue the top edge of the beard onto the sock. Make sure it is tucked under the nose, and the sides are curved upward slightly, so that the hat will cover the sides of the beard. Press and hold the beard in place allowing the hot glue to dry.

Step 3: Cover the plain sock with the fuzzy sock. Place the heel where you would like the nose to be. Add some fiber fill to the heel and tie it off with a rubber band to create a big round nose. Alternatively, you can choose to hot glue a wood bead on for a nose instead. Close off the top of the fuzzy sock with a rubber band.

Step 4: Roughly measure around the gnome for the width of the hat. Add a couple of inches as it is easier to cut it down if it is too big. Cut out a simple triangle in the hat material to match the width of the gnome.

Step 5: Hot glue the hat onto the gnome. Start by gluing the base of the hat to the gnome. Make sure to tuck the center of the hat under the top of the nose. Make your way around the base of the hat gluing it into place. Hold it in place a few minutes to allow it to dry.

Hot Glue all the way up the back edge of the hat gluing both sides of the triangle together. If you would like the hat to stand up, place fiber fill (stuffing) in it as you go.
