Hvem er De Studerendes Erhvervskontakt (DSE)?

Who are Students’ Business Relation (DSE)?

DSE står for De Studerendes Erhvervskontakt. DSE er en selvstændig, upolitisk og økonomisk uafhængig studenterforening, som holder til på Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU) og Aalborg Universitet (AAU). DSE opstod i 1989 på baggrund af et ønske om at give ingeniørstuderende de bedste muligheder for at klare sig godt i erhvervslivet både under og efter studiet. Kort efter, i 1994, blev en søsterafdeling oprettet på AAU, og med fusionen mellem DTU og IHK i 2012 fulgte kort efter et satellitkontor i Ballerup.

Gennem de sidste 33 år har vi som studerende arbejdet utrætteligt for at kunne guide vores medstuderende igennem udviklingerne i industrien.

DSE is an independent, non-political and non-profit association of students in the subjects engineering, natural science and health science. We are located at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and University of Aalborg (AAU).

The association was founded at DTU Lyngby in 1989 through a desire to give engineering students the best opportunities to do well in the business community both during and after their studies. Shortly after, in 1994, a branch was established in Aalborg, and with the fusion of DTU and IHK in 2012, a satellite office in Ballerup soon followed. Through the past 33 years, we as students have been working tirelessly to guide our fellow students through the ever changing industry.

Vores første produkt var Pejling; en håndbog i ingeniørvirksomheder og jobsøgning. Pejling udgives stadig hvert år, og indeholder artikler om emner, vi som studerende selv har interesse i at læse om; guides til at skrive det gode CV og ansøgning, tips til jobsamtalen, samt et katalog over relevante ingeniørvirksomheder - farvekodet til din studieretning.

Our first endeavour was Pejling; a handbook on engineering companies and job search. Pejling is still published every year, and contains articles on subjects we ourselves want to read about; guides on how to write a good CV, articles on job seeking, tips related to job interviews and a catalog of relevant engineering companies, colour coded for your convenience.

DSE indså hurtigt, at der ud over Pejling også var behov for direkte kontakt med repræsentanter fra ingeniørvirksomheder. Derfor oprettede DSE i 1991 DSE Messe. Den blev afholdt i Lyngby og havde 15 deltagende virksomheder. I dag afholdes der årligt Messe på både DTU og AAU, og de har vokset til at rumme mere end 200 virksomheder tilsammen.

Derudover afholder DSE også Fokusaften, hvor virksomheder fra en specifik disciplin deltager for at præsentere deres arbejde og netværke med jer.

Vi er kendt blandt ingeniørvirksomheder for at levere et højt serviceniveau, og for at sætte dem i kontakt med de bedste kandidater, nemlig jer! DSE’s mange tiltag giver de studerende gode muligheder for at få kontakter i erhvervslivet, som de kan bruge under og efter studiet. Virksomhederne, der deltager, får mulighed for at profilere sig og skabe interesse for netop deres virksomhed. I kampen om at få de bedste job og dygtigste kandidater handler det om at skabe dialogen og kontakten så tidligt som muligt.

DSE quickly realized that there was a need for having direct contact with representatives from engineering companies.

Hence, DSE established the DSE Fair in 1991. It was held in Lyngby and had 15 participating companies. Today, job fairs are held at both AAU and DTU and they have grown to host more than 200 companies combined. In addition, we host DSE Focus Night in the autumn, where we invite companies within a specific discipline to present their work, and network with you.

We are known to the industry as professionals delivering a high level of service, and contact with the most qualified candidates for jobs, namely you! The many initiatives of DSE provide students with opportunities to make contacts in the business community which they can use during and after their studies. The participating companies get to profile themselves and create interest for exactly their company. It all comes down to creating the dialogue and contact as early as possible in the battle for the best job and most qualified candidates.

Who are S-Huset?

Frivillig organisation.

Som frivillig i DSE kan du udvikle dine personlige og faglige kompetencer inden for projektledelse, IT-udvikling, økonomistyring, grafisk design, salg, kommunikation, planlægning, ledelse, markedsføring og samarbejde. Via det frivillige arbejde gør du en stor forskel for andre studerende, og du får styrket dit CV.

Kaffestuen, S-Hus Cafeen Ballerup og PF-Cafeen: As a worker in the S-Hus cafes with the daily operations of the cafe.

This means a lot of customer contact, resulting in a great possiblilty for meeting a lot people and becoming part of the great S-Hus community, getting to know a lot of great people.

Du får desuden kontakt til forskellige virksomheder og gode muligheder for at få et stærkt og bredt netværk. Hvis du har lyst til at påtage dig ansvar og få praktisk erfaring med opgaver, som normalt er forbeholdt færdiguddannede, så giver DSE dig muligheden!

I DSE prioriterer vi det sociale sammenhold meget højt. Det styrker de indbyrdes relationer og samarbejdet om de forskellige opgaver. Vi har mange sociale arrangementer og fester. Vi dyrker fællesskabet og den hyggelige stemning på kontoret. På den måde opbygger vi venskaber på tværs af årgange og studieretninger, som styrker alles fremtidige netværk.

Vores kontor ligger på PF-gangen over kantinen, hvilket er vores primære mødested. Der ligger ofte møder hver 2. - 3. uge, hvor mødetid er kl. 17.30. Midtvejs i mødet eller efter mødet får vi lidt god aftensmad.

Bartender: As a bartender in the S-Hus bars you’ll have a lot of freedom. It’s in general some great working hours, with loads of customer contact. In addition to that it’s basicly free and up to the bartender themselves, which events that happen on the nights of your shift.

PR Group is a communication thread between S-Huset and students. Our main tasks is to prepare a graphical materials – members of our group have a various experience and use everything from PowerPoint to InDesign.

We also are in close contact with photographers who capture the best moments of S-Huset parties.

Indkører: As an in-driver you are responsible for the storage and filling of this, meaning you are main responsible for the functionality of the daily operations of S-Huset. In addition you get a lot of responsibility for the larger S-Huset events.

This means that it’s a great job opportunity if you are not afraid of responsibility and like working independently.

Booking: They are volunteers in S-Huset and are responsible for booking and artist treatment. In addition to that they get to work with a lot show management, sound and lights.

Hvem er Polyteknisk Forening (PF)?

Who are Polyteknisk Forening (PF)?

Polyteknisk Forening, i daglig tale PF, er studenterforeningen ved DTU, som repræsenterer alle 11.500 studerende på DTU og er skabt af studerende, for studerende. PF blev stiftet i 1846 og er derfor en traditionsrig forening, der er stærkt forankret i DTU’s kultur og har stor indflydelse på universitetet. Vi er uafhængige af partipolitik. Foreningens arbejde og politik bliver bestemt af de aktive i PF’s udvalg hvor alle medlemmer er studerende. PF har en årlig omsætning på 19 millioner kroner. Polyteknisk Forening er organiseret omkring de 21 studieråd bestående af 600 studerende, som er de studerendes direkte stemme på DTU. Studierådene repræsenterer en eller flere studieretninger og indstiller repræsentanter til PF’s øverste organ kaldet Fællesrådet. Fællesrådet nedsætter en bestyrelse, som er ansvarlig for den daglige drift af foreningen. Derudover består PF af en række råd og udvalg med forskellige funktioner, som normalt opdeles i socialt, fagligt og politisk.

Polyteknisk Forening, usually PF, is the student association at DTU, which represents all 11,500 students at DTU and created by the student, for the students. PF was founded in 1846 and is therefore an association with a long tradition, is strongly anchored in the culture at DTU and has a lot of influence on the university. We are non-partisan. The work and politics of the association is decided by the people active in PF’s committees, who are all students. PF has a yearly turnover of 19 mio. Danish kroner.

PF er den eneste studenterforening på DTU som engagerer sig både fagligt og politisk, og har derfor også stor indflydelse på DTU som en organisation. Vi har 2 repræsentanter i DTU’s Bestyrelse, 3 repræsentanter i DTU’s Akademiske Råd, samt 120 pladser i DTU’s institutstudienævn, hvor de studerende arbejder for at sikre uddannelseskvaliteten på DTU. På den måde kan PF videregive de studerendes holdninger, når der tages beslutninger, som påvirker deres studieliv. Nationalt arbejder PF politisk med at repræsentere de DTU-studerendes holdninger. Dette gøres ved at deltage i bl.a. Folkemødet på Bornholm og ved at være en medlemsorganisation i Danske Studerendes Fællesråd, hvor PF sætter vores dagsorden som ingeniørstuderende på landsplan.

PF giver de studerende mulighed for at forbedre det sociale liv på DTU. PF arrangerer events, såsom koncerter, skitur, studiecaféer, faglige oplæg og revy. S-Huset er PF’s studenterhus og består af 150 ansatte. S-Huset driver 3 caféer med studievenlige priser på mad og drikke, som dagligt har ca. 3500 besøgende. I S-Huset kan man låne spil, spille billard, bordfodbold og bordtennis, eller blot hyggesnakke i de lange rækker af sofagrupper. S-Huset arrangerer koncerter og de fleste større fester på DTU, samtidig med at de driver barerne Verners Kælder på Ballerup Campus og Kælderbaren på Lyngby Campus. I PF har de studerende også mulighed for at være en del af en af de eksisterende 13 klubber eller selv oprette en klub. Det kan være alt fra Afdelingen for Træ og Metal til raketbyggeri i danSTAR. Studiestarten udgør rygraden i de 2500 førsteårsstuderendes sociale liv på DTU og arrangeres af PF. Den består af 30 Koordinatorer af Bachelor Studiestarten (KABS) som ansætter 250 vektorer (rusvejledere). Studiestarten arrangerer rusture, hytteture, sociale og faglige studieretningsarrangementer, ugentlige infomøder for nystartede samt meget mere.

I stil med KABS, koordinerer de 7 Master Student Coordinators (PF MSC) over 80 buddies (vejledere), som er med til at introducere de lokale, nationale og internationale studerende til hinanden og til DTU, i forbindelse med kandidat og udvekslingsstudiestarten. Polyteknisk Forening is organized around the 21 study councils, made up of 600 students, which are the direct voice of the students at DTU. The study councils represent one or more study lines and send representatives to the highest authority in PF, the Joint Council. The Joint Council elects a board, who are responsible for the daily running of the association. Aside from this, PF consists of a number of councils and committees fulfilling different functions, and who are normally split into social, academic, and political.

PF is the only student association at DTU engaged both academically and politically, and thus has a lot of influence on the organization of DTU. We have 2 representatives in the board of DTU, 3 representatives on the Academic Committee of DTU, as well as 120 spots in the Institute study boards of DTU, where students work to ensure the quality of education at DTU. In this way, PF can pass on the opinions of the students whenever decisions affecting their student lives are made. Nationally, PF works politically to represent the opinions of the DTU students. This is done, among other things, by participating in the People’s Political Festival at Bornholm and by being a member organization of the National Union of Students in Denmark. Here PF sets our agenda as engineering students, at the national level. PF gives the students the opportunity to improve the social life of DTU. PF organizes events such as concerts, skiing trips, study cafés, academic presentations, and a student revue.

S-Huset is the student house of PF, consisting of 150 employees. S-Huset runs 3 cafes with student friendly prices on food and drinks, which see around 3500 visitors daily. In S-Huset, you can borrow boardgames, play billiards, table football, and ping pong, or just talk with friends in the many sofa groups. S-Huset organizes concerts and most of the major parties at DTU as well as running the bars Verners Kælder at Ballerup Campus and Kælderbaren at Lyngby Campus.

In PF, the students also have the opportunity of joining one of the existing 13 clubs or creating a new one. This can be anything from wood and metalworking in ATM to building rockets in danSTAR. The study start is the major part of the social life of the 2500 first year students at DTU, and is organized by PF. It consists of 30 coordinators of the bachelor study start (KABS) who hire 250 Vectors (tutors). The study start organizes introduction trips, cabin trips, social and academic study start events, weekly info meetings for the new students, and much more. Similar to KABS, the 7 Master Student Coordinators (PF MSC) coordinate over 80 Buddies (tutors) who introduce both local, national and international students to each other and DTU during the master and exchange study start.

Crew

KABS22 - Coordinator of the Bachelor Study start

Volunteer Crew is a voluntary group of students from all study lines at DTU. Our work consists of helping at events organised by S-huset or PF. It includes helping both before, during and after the events, with for example setting up stages or helping at the bar.

We have meetings every Friday at 12.15-12.55 at Kælderbaren (except at holidays and exam periods).

It is not mandatory to attend these meetings, as it is not mandatory to help at events.

If this sounds like something for you, just attend a meeting and see if you want to become a part of crew.

Volunteers and PF sub-department We are 31 coordinators who represent all bachelor study lines and are responsible for coordinating the rustrips and other social gatherings related to the study start. This is done through the use of vectors (tutors) who help the new students whenever they are in need of help with things related to their studies and DTU in general .

If you want to be a part of the studystart then you should apply for vector! When you are a vector you will be getting mandatory education and have weekly meetings with your fellow vectors and the assigned KABS. After the rustrips you will have weekly meetings (so-called cake meetings) with the new students that you have been assigned. Here you will share information with them about the current events and DTU in general.

The meetings are held at DTU Lyngby, DTU Ballerup or at one of the team members’ home.

PF Vagt Paid position PFsecurity er Polyteknisk Forenings eget vagtværn.

Vores vigtigste formål er at være der for de studerende og skabe trygge rammer ved fester på DTU. Vores vagter adskiller sig markant fra almindelige dørmænd, idet vi finder vores vagter blandt egnede DTU studerende, og derefter giver dem den officielle uddannelse og certificering.

Hvis du er tålmodig, empatisk, og god til at kommunikere på dansk, er jobbet måske noget for dig. Vi måler vores vagter på, hvor mange smil de spreder og ikke på størrelsen af deres overarme ;-) hvis du mener, at jobbet måske er noget for dig, kan du skrive til PFvagtchefen Emre på PFvagt@gmail.com

Msc - Master student coordinators Paid position and members of PF Msc is a team of students who are employed by DTU and PF to plan and organize the Introduction Week for new students who will pursue a Master’s degree or exchange semester at DTU. Introduction Week takes place twice per semester, January and August, in the week prior to the start of the new semester. Introduction Week is organized by MSC but a ‘Buddy’ is an essential part of the entire structure. A ‘Buddy’ is an existing student at DTU who facilitates the events planned during Introduction Week and social bonding for a group of new students. The ‘Buddy’ is on a contract with PF and DTU as well. Both positions are volunteering positions with a fixed set of job responsibilities over an entire semester. A small token of money will be paid out for the work done as a Buddy or MSC. Meeting place: PF group rooms and DTU Meeting Center.

GAUSS

PF Humor

GAUSS is the master student council for anybody who studies something related to space, geoscience, mapping, or remote sensing. If you’re searching for a place to meet new people, have a great time and make a difference along the way, this is the place to do it!

As a master student council, we focus our efforts on: • Representing students at DTU Space • Making social & networking events for students • Improving the study environment at DTU Space • Inviting relevant companies to do talks and other events at DTU • Representing master students in PF We have meetings of approximately 1-2hrs once a month. We have dinner together before each meeting.

Volunteers and PF sub-department Every year, PF Humor creates a revue about life on DTU. Whether you want to be on stage or off stage, you are more than welcome, as we are groups of both actors, dancers, technicians, singers, musicians, designers and hyggicians (people who make the food at the rehearsals, and who know how to hygge), to put together a great show! We’re not a club with year-round weekly meetings. From the auditions in early October to the middle of February the following year, we rehearse once a week, and a few weekends. By the end of February, it all culminates with four performances. We rehearse in the meeting rooms allocated by PF in PF GANGEN (above the secretary), and depending on the group, it is optimal, but not mandatory, to attend every rehearsal.

WESA Volunteers and PF sub-department We are WESA, the Wind Energy Student Association. We represent students from the Wind Energy and Sustainable Energy MSc programmes but are open to any green energy enthusiasts! We not only organize professional events such as conferences and company visits but also social ones, like bar crawls, BBQs, and a Christmas dinner.

Besides this, we represent students at the Wind Energy and Energy ISN board, where courses are assessed and decisions regarding study programmes and individual classes are taken. So, join us on this adventure!

Meeting on DTU campus, once a week for the board, once a month for constituent members. Attendance is not mandatory but expected.

PF Wine Tasting PF Wine tasting is a social and educational PF club in which we host monthly wine tastings. In the regular wine tastings, we usually taste 4-5 different wines. The tasting lasts for about 2 hours. The wine tastings are open to everyone, however if you become a member of PF Wine Tasting you will get a discount.

Where do we meet: Meeting rooms in the PF hallway at DTU Lyngby. Find more information by joining the Facebook group PF Wine Tasting: https://www.facebook.com/groups/241446169869668 When do we meet: Once a month at 17:15, the day is decided by a vote in the Facebook group.

How much does it cost: The wine tastings cost 50 kr for members and 80 kr for non-members. You pay 60 kr per semester for a membership.

How do you become a member: Join the Facebook group and sign up for one of our wine tastings.

At PFantasy Dôme we have an enormous collection of board games spanning from popular party games, like Secret Hitler, to more expansive games, such as Terraforming Mars, and lots in between, all collected over many years. Membership grants you access to the clubs’ facilities and our shared community where you always can ask for help to brew, regardless of your skill level.

We aim to have monthly joint and open brewing sessions where participation is optional, this will be the best option for you, if you want an introduction to brewing, and to see what the club is about.

Polyteknisk Radiogruppe PF under-afdeling. Kontingent pr semester: 60 kr (studerende) eller 100 kr (ikke-studerende) I PRG har DTU studerende mulighed for at arbejde med elektronik og amatørradio. Her kan studerende hjælpe og få hjælp af hinanden og fra andre mere erfarne færdiguddannet medlemmer, med forskellige projekter som indebærer alt fra at designe og producere hjemmelavet PCB’er, fremstilling og test af radio enheder, 3D print, antenne design og fremstilling og andre projekter i samme regi. Derudover er der mulighed for de studerende i samarbejde med DTU’s institutter kan tage nogle valgfrie ECTS points i udbudte projekter eller egne projekter.

ATM (Department of Wood and Metal) PF sub-department. Membership per semester: 150 DKK The ATM club is a large and well-equipped workshop located at DTU for both wood and metal working.

As a member of the ATM club, you have access to a large collection of tools, machinery, and materials that you can use to build your personal projects. The friendly atmosphere of the ATM club will surely inspire and help you with your next wood or metal project. The club hosts introductions to the machines, but otherwise they are free to use at any time.

PF Dorm Cooking

BEST - Board of European Students of Technology

PF Dorm Cooking is volunteer-based and without a membership fee. We are a PF club and being a PF member or a DTU student is a requirement to join the club.

The purpose of the club is to make knowledge about cheap, easy and at the same time delicious food more available to students. We do this through sharing recipes on google drive and through different cooking events/social “cookouts”.

We want to create an open community about making and enjoying food. We will of course still have a few bar-crawls, but the main idea is to have fun cooking and eating i.e., focusing on cosy and inclusive aspects rather than partying.

Meeting places will usually be on or around DTU Lyngby without mandatory attendance. We are still a new club, so we have primarily functioned as a platform for food-happy students to find each other and cook together. International student union, volunteers, BEST Copenhagen is PF sub-department We aim to further develop students in areas which traditional education does not address, training soft skills such as presentation, leadership, project management, time management, motivation, and negotiation. We organize many types of events, such as engineering competitions, hackathons, and seasonal courses. Mostly, this is done in cooperation with companies.

With us, you can among other strengthen your soft skills and establish an international network with people all over Europe. IAESTE Volunteer The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience is an international non-profit organisation that provides paid internship exchanges on a global scale within technological and scientific educations. For IAESTE Denmark that means among others to raise jobs and social activities for the interns coming to Denmark. We offer our volunteer members experiences on national and international level and valuable possibilities to connect with Danish employers. We have our offices at the PF-hallway in 101. PF Auto PF-Auto er en forening af DTU-studerende og –kandidater. Vi råder over et veludstyret bilværksted, hvor vi kan udføre de fleste reparationer på en bil. Her er bl.a. lifte, svejseapparater, drejebænk og sprøjtemalekabine.

Vi er over 500 medlemmer, så der er næsten altid liv på værkstedet og hjælp at hente, hvis man vil kaste sig over noget, man ikke har prøvet før.

FAKU (Forpersonernes Aktivitets- og Koordinerings Udvalg)

Diagonalen

Volunteers, PF sub-department FAKU/COCOA (Council Of Charmen for Organisation and Activites) is a committee under the jurisdiction of PF that consists of the different chairmen and vice-chairmen of the different councils. It is a place where the chairmen can be trained in their duties, but also exchange information, tips and tricks with each other. The main duty of FAKU/COCOA is to delegate the money that is set aside for the FAKU fund as well as the Bookstore fund. Both can be read more about on the fund page on https://www.pf.dk/en/about-pf/foundations.

We meet every 1-2 months (depending on academic calendar) and it is only obligatory to come to every 2. Meeting, which are the meetings where we delegate the money from the two funds. To become a member of this committee, you have to be a chairperson or vice-chairperson of a student council.

Volunteers Its Friday and you have just finished your super boring math class, the only thought in your head is: “What do I have to do to get a beer?” Well… You can just go straight to Diagonalen!

We start the party every Friday in Building 116 at roughly noon and keeps it going to 21 in the evening. Beside the usual good time, bigger parties are sprinkled all over the year. So, there are plenty of opportunity to enjoy a beer and a dance. If you are interested in helping us out, you’re more than welcome to sign up for a test shift behind the bar. Being a volunteer in Diagonalen consists of some shifts behind the bar and some internal events, the time requirements are to some extent up to yourself. Diamanten

Hegnet

Frivillige Diamanten er en forening der har til formål at skabe en cafe/bar fredag eftermiddag og aften. Vi har åbent hver fredag 1221 i 13-ugers perioden, hvor vi serverer øl og andre drikkevarer for vores kunder, og holder sometider events med åbning til kl. 3. I Diamanten bestræber vi os på at sprede god stemning for de studerende og for Diamantens medlemmer. Vi har et godt sammenhold - vi holder interne events og ses i fritiden. Vi mødes i ”Diamanten” mellem bygning 413 og 414.

Vi mødes om mandagen i frokostpausen, og vi står bag baren mellem 12 og 21. Man har typisk fire vagter af fem timer i løbet af semesteret. Der er også mulighed for at bytte vagter intern. Vi forventer et vist engagement, men man skal ikke nedprioritere studiet. Man kan ansøge om medlemskab ved at skrive en besked til ”Diamanten” på Facebook. Man skal gå på bacheloruddannelserne ”Produktion og Konstruktion”, ”Maskinteknik”, ”Design og Innovation” eller ”Strategisk Analyse & Systemdesign” eller tilsvarende kandidater for at blive medlem.

Volunteers (member bonuses), PF sub-department Hegnet is a voluntary bar stationed in the Canteen at building 342 at DTU Lyngby. We have regular openings from 14:00 to 21:00 every Friday, and sometimes we throw bigger parties until 3 am.

We are a group of people having a few major things in common: we love to hang out together, drink beers and play Beer Pong. We are a family of bartenders of around 30 people, bachelors and master students of DTU. If you become a part of Hegnet, we do require at least helping in the bar 2 times per semester of “regular openings” and both of the “long openings” organized each semester. There is a monthly meeting for all bartenders.

Become a bartender of Hegnet by writing an email at hegnetdtu@gmail.com or apply via our google form where you can attend the “trainee day” on the 26th of February, a day where many applicants are participating. You do not need any experience, we will teach you everything you need.

DTU Fitness

DTU Sport is an association which is responsible for sports activities at DTU. On DTU Sports website you can find a summary for all the clubs associated with DTU Sport, and which sporting facilities we offer.

DTU Sport offers rental of our sports halls, promotes healthy lifestyle and even help and financing in starting a new club with enough interest.

Membership fee: 200 DKK each month (25% student discount) DTU Fitness is a 400 m2 fitness center located at the balcony of building 101b. The center is open all year round from 05:00 AM – 22:45 PM. We offer a wide variety of free weights, weightlifting machines and cardio machines to suit all your needs.

A DTU Fitness membership is eligible for all students of DTU, faculty staff and other employees working at DTU. Access is given through your DTU access card. Subscription can be done on www.dtusport.dk.

Badminton Membership fee: 400 - 800 DKK (half or entire season) You must buy your own shuttles for matches. Used shuttles for training are available. We have 3 teams in total: Advanced (Tuesday 18:15-20:15), intermediate (Tuesday 20:15-22:15) and beginner (Wednesday 18:00-20:00). All three teams are coached by one of you great coaches! Thursdays from 20:15-22:15 we offer open training for all that wants to play where we mainly play matches. We have one tournament team for the advanced team which plays a couple of times during the year. We also host different social events.

DTU Exiles R.U.F.C Volunteers, membership fee: annual or biannual, DTU Sport The Exiles is a strong social club, with lots of activities, where we play the sport of rugby. We have both a men’s and women’s team in the Danish 1. Division. Everyone is welcome at our practices no matter their level of skill, and we are more than happy to teach anyone new the game. During the season there will approximately be matches around every other Saturday with both home and away games. raining is every Tuesday and Thursday with the location varying depending on the time of the season (the pitch near B230, DTU sports hall, Lyngby Stadium). There’s practice twice a week with games every couple of weekends. We also hold social events and watch the major tournaments and test matches together. Our seasoned coaches and members are here to make you the best player that you can be, and after practice you’ll likely find us all in S-huset unwinding together and having a laugh. DTU Climb DTU Sport, membership fee: 400 DKK per year (250 DKK for 6 months), day ticket: 20 DKK DTU Climbing is a volunteer-based climbing club under DTU Sport. We have bouldering facilities located in the sports complex in building 101 on Lyngby Campus. A membership at DTU Climbing works much like a fitness gym membership – by paying the membership fee you get access to the training facilities where you can climb anytime on your own or with friends. At the moment we have training sessions with an instructor every Monday that are free for any member to join.

No previous experience in climbing is needed to start climbing at DTU. We rent out climbing shoes for free and are happy to introduce new climbers to the wonderful sport of bouldering. For more information about the club and membership options check out dtuclimbing.dk !

DTU Basketball DTU Sport, membership fee: per semester DTU Basketball club runs more than 50 years by dedicated volunteers. Our club consists of DTU and non-DTU members (students and non-students) and it is open for all genders, ages and nationalities.

We currently have 6 basketball teams: 2 Female teams (Division 2 and Series 1) and 4 Male teams (Division 3, Series1 and Old boys). Our club is based at DTU building 101 court 8. We also use other court facilities in Trongårdsskolen (nearby DTU) for our practices.

We appreciate committed players. All teams are practicing at least twice a week and we play games during the weekend.

SDG Ambassadors

The Society for Biological Engineering at DTU

Volunteer, student-run, membership fee: 30 DKK (annual) or 15 DKK (biannual) Our vision is to see every student in Denmark know and apply the SDGs during and after the student’s academic career.

We seek to create an active interdisciplinary community with a sense of belonging, which empowers students to become the next generation of changemakers. This includes enforcing the SDGs in own actions and engaging in a critical discourse about the SDGs with the industry, politicians and society. Only jointly can we achieve the goals before 2030. The purpose is to share and develop ways to bring sustainability into our daily, student, and professional lives.

DTU Skylab is where we essentially host our gatherings, but we also get creative by collaborating with like-minded partners. You become a member by joining one of the monthly meet-ups and sharing our passion for spreading the news about SDGs. All members are expected to participate in the monthly workshops and the general assembly twice per year.

SBE.DTU is an organization for students with an interest in biotechnology. Our primary objective is to integrate biology, engineering, and innovation, while creating national and international networks between students, universities, and industry. The amount of time people use on SBE work varies a lot from person to person. You choose which events you want to be a part of and how much you want to be involved. But it is mandatory to help with at least 1 event per semester. Usually, all SBE activities is put on hold during the exams and holidays - we are all students! If you want to integrate biology, engineering, and innovation, as well as build networks with your fellow students and/or within the biotech industry, then SBE.DTU is ready to welcome you as a member!

Feministisk Forum Volunteers, independent student association DTU Feminist Forum hosts open conversation forums, where everyone – regardless of gender – can join. The forums are themed and will be opened with an inspirational talk or a similar arrangement with the purpose of sparking ideas and thoughts. Afterwards, a discussion will be conducted, and the participants will be able to engage in conversations with their fellow students. The initiative is part of a goal to increase awareness of the challenges which the lack of gender equality at DTU can entail.

Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Volunteers ESN DTU is a section of Erasmus Student Network with the motto “Students helping students”. We create events, trips and campaigns to bring the local and international students together and help international students during their stay in Denmark. Surprisingly, even though “Erasmus” is in our name, we aim to reach full-time students as well as local students that want to be part of an international community.

Where? DTU Lyngby Campus, Building 101, or in BaseCamp Lyngby.

When? Every two weeks, on Sunday afternoon. Aside from the meeting, we organize events or workshops for our volunteers at least once a month. Roskilde Festival powered by DTU Students

EuroTeQ Engineering University

A voluntary collaboration between Roskilde Festival and DTU. Every year 100 DTU students participate in Roskilde Festival to improve the festival with engineering solutions to a broad range of areas within the festival. The festival will serve as a living laboratory where you can put your academic skills to work while solving real-life problems. Regardless of your study line at DTU you can participate with your own project at Roskilde Festival 2022! You have the opportunity to get ECTS credits or you can make a project just for fun. You will receive full access to the festival, funding and much more.

There are events throughout the semester working on improving the project, pitch training, and social events. The workload will be heavier in June up till the festival. Information about application for project ideas is found on our social media and website. You can find the project coordinators in the office in the pf-hall, room 6.159, in building 101 DTU lyngby. Tuesday 9 am -1 pm and Thursday 9 am - 1 pm

EuroTeQ Engineering University is an alliance between the leading European technical universities with an aim to provide DTU students 1) mobility opportunities to connect and create networks across Europe via courses and other physical & virtual exchange opportunities 2) entrepreneurial and innovation collaboration learning platform called the ‘Collider’ - mini innovation sprint developing student ideas that tackle the grand challenges of society in areas such as foods, energy, health, and climate.

Carbon DTU Carbon is a Team created by International Student Services, led by two coordinators (Anya and Anja). We also have volunteer corps “Electrons” who help organize Carbon events. Carbon organizes events, activities and trips for both international and Danish students, with the aim of creating an inclusive campus at DTU and combating loneliness and isolation. Some of the events we organise are Movie and Debate Nights, Quiz and Board games nights, but we also collaborate with international students and help them share part of their culture with other students at DTU. Joining our trips, students have the opportunity to travel around and learn more about Denmark! We organize trainings and team building events for volunteers once per semester. Volunteers are required to participate in at least one Carbon event.

Hultz Prize Volunteers, all activities are for free Hult Prize is the world’s largest student social entrepreneurship competition. This year’s call to action is about creating a business that will employ at least 2,000 people by 2024 while creating a positive impact on the world, then pitch it to a panel of judges. The winning team will be invited to the second phase of the Hult Prize competition and get closer to winning the $1,000,000 global startup prize as its anchor activity.
