Gingerbread House Contest & Display Create your own Gingerbread House and join the fun! Houses are displayed at the Mathews Welcome Center and will be judged with prizes awarded in the several categories. www.matthewschamber.org

Breakfast With Santa Bring your camera and take your picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Enjoy breakfast and make a take-home holiday craft. Recommended for ages 2 to 8. For information call 704-321-7275.

Hometown Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration A traditional smalltown holiday celebration. An afternoon filled with activities, entertainment and a tree lighting with lots of surprises! You won't want to miss it! www.matthewsnc.gov Noon Year’s Eve Party Celebrate New Year’s Eve with your family inside the Fullwood Theater. Enjoy music and entertainment. A DJ will countdown to 12 NOON and a balloon drop. Recommended for ages 4 and up. Tickets are $7 per person. www.matthewsnc.gov

Cool Vibes Winter Concert Series A new concert series featuring two unique performances in the historic Fullwood Theater in the Matthews Community Center. It’s the talk of the town, with a cool, speakeasy vibe! www.matthewsnc.gov

Healthy Living Week of Wellness A week long event held in April full of Health & Wellness for the entire family. Enjoy fitness demonstrations, informational sessions, and free health screenings. www.matthewschamber.org

A Labor Day weekend celebration dedicated to the support of local non-profit organizations through music, arts and community involvement. The festival is a grand, four-day family event. Expect to see more than 150 arts and crafts vendors, 30 food vendors, one of the largest parades in the Southeast, and the Kids Connection interactive area, as well as a fantastic Midway full of games and rides for all ages and four stages of free entertainment all weekend. www.matthewsalive.org

Auto Reunion Classic Car & Motorcycle Show

This family-friendly event features all makes and models of cool cars, trucks and motorcycles. This judged event with awards (Best of Show, Sponsor’s Choice and18 Best In Class winners) is held annually in September, rain or shine. www.matthewschamber.org Musica Matthews Bring a chair or blanket and celebrate Hispanic Heritage at Stumptown Park.
