Robotic Surgery

Mobile Infirmary was the first hospital in the region to introduce robotic surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System. Surgeons use the robot to perform complex surgeries with added precision. With the most comprehensive robotics program in the region, the robot is available for patients with prostate, endometrial, cervical or kidney cancers, as well as those needing cardiovascular, thoracic, gynecologic, pulmonary, bariatrics and general surgical procedures. Sleep Disorders Center Awards

Through the Sleep Disorders Center, physicians diagnose and treat patients with complaints related to sleeping and waking functions. The newly renovated center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and is equipped to address the full spectrum of sleep and alertness problems.

Women’s Services

Mobile Infirmary is dedicated to delivering the highest quality comprehensive medical care for women throughout all stages of life—from child-bearing to post-menopausal years. Advanced gynecological medical and surgical treatments are available for women of all ages. A family-centered and baby-friendly birthing experience includes childbirth education, nutrition counseling, pre- and post-natal fitness programs, renovated birthing suites, and the only Mothers’ Milk Depot in our area. This program gives lactating mothers a drop-off location for donations of much-needed breast milk and provides breast milk for the Mothers’ Milk Bank of Alabama. Designated as the area’s first and most comprehensive surgical weight-loss program, the Bariatric Center team helps patients gain control of their weight and health. The program is an accredited center through the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP).

Infirmary Fitness Centers are Cancer Care among the first facilities in the nation to offer the Fit3D ProScanner, an innovative imaging technology that enables you to track your Infirmary Cancer Care patients have access to the most progressive progress by seeing exactly how your body is changing. Infirmary’s Center for Wound Healing offers evaluation and treatment of chronic, non-healing wounds. The staff works to find the underlying cause of wounds and provides advanced therapies tailored to meet specific needs. In addition, we offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which helps speed the wound healing process.

Heart Care

Operation Bounce-Back introduces medically supervised exercise, education and counseling to patients with cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. The program assists patients in leading productive and active lives. Bounce-Back is the first program of its kind in Alabama.

A hospitalist is a medical specialist who provides quality medical treatment to individuals while they are in the hospital. Because hospitalists don’t maintain a private outside practice, their time is devoted solely to caring for hospitalized patients.

Infirmary Health hospitalists specialize in all aspects of a patient’s care from admission until discharge. Hospitalists manage and coordinate the entire inpatient care, working closely with the patient’s primary care physician and any specialists involved.

Diabetes Education

Mobile Infirmary’s Diabetes Education and Resource Center provides tools for patients to manage diabetes and enjoy a normal quality of life. DERC, recognized nationally by the American Diabetes Association, is staffed by registered nurses and dietitians certified in diabetes education. Both individual and group diabetes education sessions are available and designed to meet your specific needs. Topics include diabetes overview, healthy eating, medication instruction, exercise benefits, blood sugar monitoring, behavior change, complication prevention and stress management.

Digestive Health

At Mobile Infirmary, a state-of-the-art endoscopic imaging system helps doctors diagnose diseases in the upper and lower gastrointestinal (GI) tract.

The American College of Gastroenterology reports that more than 95 million Americans experience some kind of digestive problem. The E.A. Roberts Alzheimer’s Center was the first day center in south Alabama designed specifically for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Located on the campus of Mobile Infirmary, the 8,000-square-foot facility includes living areas, a kitchen, rest areas, enclosed courtyards with fountains, screened porches, and a large fenced yard complete with a walking path and putting green. Emergency Care

Physicians and nurses are available 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week to care for you and your loved ones. We provide accurate and rapid diagnosis and treatment for emergencies ranging from minor injuries and illnesses to life-threatening trauma. Six cardiac exam rooms have continuous patient monitoring systems to detect early signs of heart attack.
