Mobile Infirmary is one of only three Alabama hospitals to be granted accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) and is also accredited by the Commission on Cancer — both programs of the American College of Surgeons.

Heart Care
Operation Bounce-Back introduces medically supervised exercise, education and counseling to patients with cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. The program assists patients in leading productive and active lives. Bounce-Back is the first program of its kind in Alabama.

Since then, our top physicians have kept up with the pace of technological advances, and we offer the latest procedures to help patients reclaim their cardiovascular health. The American Heart Association proudly recognizes Mobile Infirmary with the Get With The Guidelines®–Resuscitation: Gold Achievement Award Hospital and Adult Patient Population Recognition. From cardiovascular workouts, strength training and swimming in our indoor pool to rigorous boot camp, we offer a variety of ways to improve your physical health, build strength and increase flexibility. Infirmary Fitness Centers are among the first facilities in the nation to offer the Fit3D ProScanner, an innovative imaging technology that enables you to track your progress by seeing exactly how your body is changing. The Fit3D ProScanner uses a camera to take pictures and construct a 360-degree, three-dimensional model of your body. Additionally, Operation FitKids, an eight-week program offered to children ages 7-11, is designed to educate children and their families on the benefits of regular physical activity and proper nutrition. Our Kids Zone, a fun play area for children six months to 11 years old,
Diabetes Education
Mobile Infirmary’s Diabetes Education and Resource Center provides tools for patients to manage diabetes and enjoy a normal quality of life. DERC, recognized nationally by the American Diabetes Association, is staffed by registered nurses and dietitians certified in diabetes education. Both individual and group diabetes education sessions are available and designed to meet your specific needs. Topics include diabetes overview, healthy eating, medication instruction, exercise benefits, blood sugar monitoring, behavior change, complication prevention and stress management.

At Mobile Infirmary, a state-of-the-art endoscopic imaging system helps doctors diagnose diseases in the upper and lower gastrointestinal (GI) tract.
The American College of Gastroenterology reports that more than 95 million Americans experience some kind of digestive problem. Our medical team includes board-certified gastroenterologists, pulmonologists and nurses. A hospitalist is a medical specialist who provides quality medical treatment to individuals while they are in the hospital. Because hospitalists don’t maintain a private outside practice, their time is devoted solely to caring for hospitalized patients.
Infirmary Health hospitalists specialize in all aspects of a patient’s care from admission until discharge. Hospitalists manage and coordinate the entire inpatient care, working closely with the patient’s primary care physician and any specialists involved.
E.A. Roberts Alzheimer’s Center was the first day center in south Alabama designed specifically for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Located on the campus of Mobile Infirmary, the 8,000-square-foot facility includes living areas, a kitchen, rest areas, enclosed courtyards with fountains, screened porches, and a large fenced yard complete with a walking path and putting green.
