Causes of A Heart Attack During Diwali and Its Precautions

A heart attack refers to a medical condition where the heart’s activity is blocked due to blockage or blood is clogged in the arteries due to plaque formation. This causes interrupted blood flow leading to failure in the working of heart muscles thereby causing myocardial infarction. Pollutants present in the air which deteriorate the air quality have detrimental effects on the heart as well. Cases of heart attack increase anyways in winter; Diwali is the time of swing in the climate. Particulate matter, i.e., solid, or liquid droplets present in the air, also affects the air quality. There is a direct relation between PM exposure with medical conditions such as heart diseases and respiratory problems such as asthma. An increase in daily PM also increases the risk of such ailments.
