Explanatory Notes
General
• The score is transposed
• Quarter tones: Woodwinds
Flutter tongue
Glissando is always preferably played with embachoure only, and not with fingerings change (it is always a half step downwards / upwards).
Air sounds should always sound like a gust of wind. Use your instrument to project the air sound.
Use your house keys as a percussion instrument, shake them to produce a the desired dynamics, feel free to choose the speed. Don’t make it too theatrical please, keep it purely musical.
Brass
Con sord. - for trumpets I was imagining a metal straight mute, but anything nasally would work. For the horns, please use the good old stop mute for a very metallic sound.

Percussion
Instruments:
• 1 Timpani tuned to G2
• Snare Drum
• Darbukah
• Rain Stick
• Hanged Cymbals
• Wind Chimes
• House Keys
• 5 Wood Blocks
• Glockenspiel
When a Darbukah is not handy, or not possible play it’s part on the snare drum.
Please position the Glockenspiel and the Wood Blocks close to each, as you will have to play them simultaneously once.
Strings
Play the highest possible sound. Aim for something that sounds more like white noise than like a defined pitch. It should sound like a migraine.
Aleatoric notation. free improvisation on these pitches - in every possible order. play as fast as possible please. feel free to trill... it should sound like a vibrating cluster.
