Our annual arts festival for children and families, that will thrill, engage, excite, create cultural experiences and facilitate learning for young people aged 2-12yrs. In our Centre, in our schools and in our library, there will be fun, creativity and lots of giggles.
THE DIG | PAUL CURLEY Wed 2 Oct | 10am & 12pm | â‚Ź6 (Teachers go free) | Age: 6+ All his life Mac has wanted to be an Archaeologist, to be an expert in finding things and working out what they mean. But in a world where facts and figures mean so much more than fairy tale and fantasy, Mac has to dig deeper to prove what he finds is what he thinks it is. JACK AND THE BEANSTALK | LYNGO Sat 5 Oct | 3pm | €7/€6 | Age: 3+ Fee Fi Fo Fum! It’s a giant of a show, we’d love you to come! This classic fairytale now gets the Lyngo treatment so expect lots of surprises and beautiful images as Patrick Lynch (from Cbeebies) tells the gripping story of Jack who sells his cow for 5 magic beans and finds himself in the land above the clouds. UNDER D’BED | TAILTIU THEATRE COMPANY Produced by Tailtiu and Droichead Arts Centre Wed 16 & Thu 17 Oct | 10am & 12pm | €6 (Teachers go free) | Age: 8-12 It’s late, your room is a mess, your friends want to go late-night exploring, and you can hear your mother’s footsteps on the stairs. Do you: - Jump into bed, turning off the lights? - Begin to tidy up? - Make a break for it out the window? Tailtiu Theatre Company will give the audience control as they present the premiere of Under D’Bed, a new choose-your-own-adventure play. Part theatrical experience, part interactive game, join our plucky protagonist as he goes on a fantastical adventure, where YOU determine the outcome.
THE QUIET TREE | CEOL CONNECTED Wed 23 Oct | 10am & 12pm | €6 (Teachers go free) | Age: 2-6 The creatures of Whistleberry Forest have discovered a little oak tree growing deep in “A wonderful, magical, the woods. However, there are no birds singing, no leaves rustling, and no animals absolutely enchanting and scurrying around its trunk. This delightful beguiling work... a real treasure” music performance takes children and - Ellen Cranitch, Vespertine on accompanying adults on an adventure RTÉ Lyric FM through the forest where they explore musical soundscapes, sing, dance, and help Oran the owl, Sorley the snail, and Faolán the frog bring the little oak tree to life through music.

KIDS WANNA DRUM WORKSHOP Tue 29 Oct | 10am-12pm, 1pm-3pm | €10 | Age: 8-12 Explore rhythm, pulse, tempo, tones and traditional Afro-Brazilian call & responses in these Samba Drumming and Percussion workshops led by Kieran Gallagher.
PUNCH LION COMEDY WORKSHOP Wed 30 Oct | 12pm | €10 | Age: 9-12 Learn a variety of comedy performance skills, from stand-up and improvisation to sketches, comedy acting and silly storytelling. A confidence-building workshop that is fun, positive and a great laugh! Facilitated by Aoife Moore.
In Our Schools FREE OUTREACH PROGRAMMES FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS! Storytelling | Dates: 7-11 & 14-18 Oct | Ages: Junior Infants - 1st Class Bilingual workshops told through movement and song, delivered by singer and songwriter Triona na Dhuibhir. Visual Arts | Dates: 21-25 Oct | Age: 2nd – 6th Class Our team of six visual artists will allow children to explore and experiment with different creative mediums.
