You Have Reached The Mid Point Of the Course So It Is Important To Be

You have reached the mid-point of the course, so it is important to begin organizing the content for your Final assignment that is due in Week 5. For this week’s assignment, you will complete the Final assignment Preparation Assignment worksheet. This assignment is designed to help you get started on your Final assignment. Restate the social problem you are working on and the two disciplines you are using to examine that social problem. You did this in your week 1 discussion.

Identify two sources from each discipline you are examining. Remember, you reflected upon one of these for your Week 2 Research Checkpoint last week. Summarize the sources and explain how they examine the social problem. What does this article tell you about the social problem you chose? What research methods were used to gather the information? Reflect upon how each discipline approached the social problem.

Develop a working introduction and thesis statement for your final assignment. Please use in-text APA citations within your worksheet, as well as full APA references at the end of your worksheet. If you need APA assistance, review the APA Style resources. Select the blue headings to expand the text in each section. Formatting and Citations Must utilize academic voice. See the Academic Voice resource for additional guidance.

Must include a working thesis statement. For assistance on Writing a Thesis Statement, refer to the Writing Center resources. Must use the four scholarly sources from the library. The Scholarly, Peer-Reviewed, and Other Credible Sources table offers additional guidance on appropriate source types. If you have questions about whether a specific source is appropriate for this assignment, please contact your instructor. Your instructor has the final say about the appropriateness of a specific source for a particular assignment.

To assist you in completing the research required for this assignment, view this Quick and Easy Library Research tutorial, which introduces the University of Arizona Global Campus Library and the research process, and provides some library search tips. Must document any information used from sources in APA Style as outlined in the Writing Center’s Citing Within Your Paper guide. Must format references in APA Style. See the Formatting Your References List resource in the Writing Center for specifications.

Paper For Above instruction

The mid-point of any academic course serves as a pivotal juncture for students to synthesize their learning and prepare effectively for final assessments. In the context of this course, the initial step involves clearly restating the social problem under examination along with the two disciplinary lenses applied to analyze it. This foundational step ensures clarity in subsequent research activities and writing. For example, if the social problem is "income inequality," the student might choose disciplines such as economics and sociology, each offering unique perspectives and methodologies for analysis.

Identifying two credible sources from each discipline is crucial for a comprehensive understanding of the social problem. These sources should not only describe the problem but also explore its underlying factors, implications, and potential solutions. Summaries of these sources should highlight their main arguments, research methods, and how each discipline approaches the problem differently. For example, an economics article might focus on income distribution models using quantitative data, whereas a sociological study might examine societal impacts through qualitative interviews or ethnographic observations.

Furthermore, students must develop a tentative introduction and a working thesis statement that encapsulates their central argument or perspective about the social problem. This thesis will guide the final paper’s focus and structure. Incorporating APA citations throughout the worksheet demonstrates scholarly rigor and adherence to academic standards, providing evidence for claims and situating the research within existing literature.

Utilizing library resources, such as scholarly journal articles, peer-reviewed publications, and credible online sources, enriches the research foundation. The assignment emphasizes the importance of evaluating source credibility and relevance, which can be guided by the library’s recommended source criteria. Assistance with APA formatting and citations is essential to avoid plagiarism and maintain academic integrity. The tutorial and guidelines provided by the university’s Writing Center are invaluable in mastering these technical skills.

Overall, this assignment functions as a strategic blueprint for the final paper. It consolidates the chosen social issue, disciplinary perspectives, key sources, and a clear thesis—forming the backbone for a well-supported, scholarly final submission. Building this groundwork early ensures a coherent, compelling argument and thorough exploration of the social problem in the final course assignment.
