Open the Excel Workbook provided in the “Excel Assignment” file located in Topic 3. Enter your first and last name in cell A1, type “UNV-504” in cell A2, and “Topic 3 Excel Assignment” in cell A3. Activate the Data Analysis Add-in by following the tutorial linked in cell B6 of the Excel Tutorial Links. Rename Sheet 1 to “Title Sheet”.

In Sheet 2, label cell D1 as “Total Unit Sales”. Use Excel formulas to calculate total unit sales for each product based on price per unit and units sold, displaying results in column D. Enter “Average” in cell A12, and in cell B12, insert a function to compute the average price per unit; in cell C12, insert a function to compute the average units sold. Update the price per unit of weed spray to $26.06 and units sold for plastic buckets to 359. Enter “Total Sales” in cell F4, and in G4, insert a formula to sum all total unit sales. Rename this sheet “Garden Store”.

In Sheet 3, create a pie chart using data from columns D and E. Add data labels showing percentages and the instrument family, following the tutorial linked in cell B15. Rename the sheet “Symphony”.

In Sheet 4, create two line graphs: one for Northeast and Southeast sales, the other for Northwest and Southwest sales, using the data provided. Use the tutorial linked in cell B16 for guidance. Rename this sheet “Division Sales”.

In Sheet 5, create a scatter plot from the provided data, following the instructions in the tutorial linked in cell B17. Rename this sheet “Drinks”.

In Sheet 6, create a new tab. In cell A1, write about the most challenging part of the assignment; in cell A2, describe something new learned. Name this sheet “Last”. Save the workbook and upload it to your Topic 3 Excel Assignment drop box.

Paper For Above instruction

The Microsoft Excel assignment for Topic 3 guides students through a comprehensive set of data management and visualization tasks designed to enhance proficiency with Excel tools. These tasks encompass data entry, formula application, chart creation, and sheet management, backing foundational skills necessary for advanced data analysis and reporting.

Initial steps involve customizing the workbook by entering personal details and activating the Data Analysis Add-in, a crucial feature for performing complex data computations. Renaming sheets

strategically sets the stage for organizing various datasets and visual representations. The first substantive task on Sheet 2 involves calculating total unit sales for each product by multiplying unit price and units sold, utilizing Excel’s formula capabilities. Such calculations are fundamental in business analytics, enabling the evaluation of sales performance across product lines.

The assignment further requires calculating averages for price and units sold, adding a layer of statistical analysis fundamental for assessing sales trends. Modifying specific data points, such as adjusting the price of weed spray and the units for plastic buckets, teaches students the importance of data accuracy and manipulation. Summing total sales demonstrates aggregation functions critical in summarizing large datasets for managerial decision-making.

Creating a pie chart on Sheet 3 provides a visual distribution of sales or other categorical data, with labels that display meaningful percentages and categories to facilitate quick insights. This visual tool supports data storytelling, an essential skill in data presentation. Moving to Sheet 4, students learn to generate line graphs for sales data across different regions, helping illustrate trends over time or comparisons among regions. These line charts are central in identifying seasonal patterns or regional performance differences.

The scatter plot on Sheet 5 introduces analysis of relationships between variables, vital in correlation studies and advanced statistical analysis. Proper labeling and data management are emphasized to produce clear, interpretable charts.

The final sheet, Sheet 6, emphasizes reflection and meta-cognition; students document challenges faced and new learnings, fostering critical thinking and self-assessment skills. The task culminates with saving and submitting the workbook, integrating technical competence with organizational practices essential for professional data analysis workflows.

Overall, this Excel assignment encapsulates core competencies in data entry, formula use, chart creation, and presentation, equipping students with practical skills to perform data analysis efficiently. These skills are applicable across industries, underscoring the importance of proficiency in Excel within the realm of business intelligence and data-driven decision-making.
