The Health Care Industry Is Constantly Evolving Its Evolution Is Driv

The health care industry is constantly evolving. Its evolution is driven and affected by new and improved technologies. As technology is developed and improved upon, the health care industry can use it to improve patient experience. Patient experience can have an impact on several aspects of the health care industry, most importantly facility revenue. Complete the Technology Used to Improve Patient Experience chart.

Identify five technologies that can improve patient experience. You can choose from the examples below or research some of your own to use: Communication methods, Patient records, Patient portals, Telemedicine/Online medical care, Devices, Patient care. Describe the five technologies you identified. Explain how each selected technology improves patient experience. Include an artifact that represents each technology selected (e.g., an image, video, or article of the selected technology). Cite at least 3 peer-reviewed, scholarly, or similar resources.

Paper For Above instruction

The continuous evolution of healthcare technology plays a pivotal role in enhancing patient experience, which in turn positively influences healthcare outcomes and facility revenue. This paper identifies five key technologies that have significantly contributed to this advancement: Telemedicine, Electronic Health Records (EHRs), Patient Portals, Mobile Health Devices, and Communication Platforms. Each of these technologies is examined for its role in enriching patient interactions and outcomes, supported by scholarly literature and relevant artifacts.

1. Telemedicine

Telemedicine refers to the delivery of healthcare services through remote communication technologies, such as video conferencing and remote monitoring systems. It bridges geographical barriers, enabling patients to access healthcare providers from their homes. This technology enhances patient experience by providing convenience, reducing travel time, and allowing timely medical interventions (Dorsey & Topol, 2016). For example, during the COVID-19 pandemic, telemedicine became a critical tool in maintaining continuous care while minimizing infection risks. An artifact representing this is a screenshot of a telehealth consultation platform, illustrating real-time virtual physician-patient interaction.

2. Electronic Health Records (EHRs)

EHRs are digital versions of patients' paper charts, providing comprehensive and accessible medical information across healthcare providers. This technology improves patient experience by ensuring accurate, up-to-date information is readily available, reducing errors, and facilitating coordinated care (Hillestad et al., 2015). EHRs enable faster diagnoses and streamline administrative processes. An artifact could be a sample EHR interface showing detailed patient history, medications, and lab results accessible to authorized personnel.

3. Patient Portals

Patient portals are secure online platforms that allow patients to access their health information, schedule appointments, and communicate with healthcare providers. This technology fosters transparency and empowers patients to participate actively in their care, leading to increased satisfaction and adherence to treatment plans (Ancker et al., 2017). An artifact might include a screenshot of a patient portal login page and features like messaging systems and test result access.

4. Mobile Health Devices

Mobile health devices, such as wearable fitness trackers and remote monitoring gadgets, enable patients to track vital signs, activity levels, and symptoms outside clinical settings. These devices enhance patient experience by providing real-time feedback and promoting engagement with personal health management (Kitsiou et al., 2017). An example artifact could be an image of a smartwatch displaying heart rate data or an ECG monitor used remotely by patients and providers.

5. Communication Platforms

Modern communication platforms, including secure messaging and video conferencing tools, streamline communication between patients and providers. These platforms improve accessibility, reduce waiting times, and facilitate clearer, more frequent interactions (McGonigle & Mastrian, 2018). An artifact could be a video interview or a screenshot of a secure messaging interface used for consultations and follow-up communications.

Conclusion

The integration of these five technologies—Telemedicine, EHRs, Patient Portals, Mobile Health Devices, and Communication Platforms—has transformed the healthcare landscape. They collectively enhance the efficiency of care delivery, improve patient engagement, and elevate overall patient satisfaction. As

healthcare continues to evolve, ongoing technological innovation will remain essential in meeting patient needs and sustaining healthcare facility revenue.
