01 Eastside Infusion Center

Senior Capstone: Design Development and Communication

The goal of this project was to utilize interior design theories and research to develop a space that inspires human connection while providing comfort to patients. Eastside Infusion Center allows patients to be part of a community while receiving treatment that works best for them. Having control over their treatment allows patients to carry on with their day-to-day life while they are on their journey to recovery.

Infusion treatment is an isolating and time-consuming process. Patients often feel secluded and struggle to find comfort in a typical hospital environment. This leads to low morale and confidence which can directly impact patient recovery and their overall mental health during this process.

The City of Savannah Visitors Center

Graduate Architecture Design

Fundamentals: Human-centered Design

The goal of this project was to create a visitors' center that told the story of Savannah, Georgia. With a population of 147,780 Savannah serves an important role as an industrial center and seaport. Today, Savannah's port and tourism are the main drivers of the economy.

Two questions that lead this design were what do the people need, and how can we connect with the foundational elements of Savannah? It became apparent that Savannah's tourists need a place to rest and find shade while they are exploring the city. Exposed steel framing and use of industrial materials resonate with Savannah's roots and the elements of the city.
