Welcome Home! During the past three years, our journey as a young company has allowed us to meet people from all over the country who have a mutual love of American crafts. Some find happiness in keeping alive an art form passed down through the generations. For others, the joy comes in taking a piece of this craft home and giving it a place of honor there as a reminder of their travels and journeys. We are family and gathering with each other is in our DNA. From grandparents to grandchildren, from cousins to family reunions. Exploring small town main streets and discovering connections is part of it all. It’s been challenging for the past few years to gather. We relish being together more so than ever before. It’s time to gather again. Visit us in Dresden. Our doors are open and we’re ready to catch up. If you can’t make it to our favorite little village, get together with one of our Proprietors across America to learn more about our story. We hope you’ll want to join us in our mission of “Life Made Better.”

Proudly Crafted In America! Sustainability is key in Dresden & Company’s basketmaking operation, starting with our reliance on hardwood maple veneer that has been harvested from responsibly managed forests and carries the important Forest Stewardship Council certification. Our wood vendors also use the entire tree in their manufacturing processes. In our Workshop in Dresden, we carefully manage every step of the process, including cutting and staining every weaving strip before the basketmakers create their masterpieces with our innovative designs.

WE BELIEVE IN GIVING BACK The Arlington Basket is designed to help the children of our country’s fallen service members continue their education. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the basket set and lid goes to the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation to help with college scholarships and education counseling. It is a cause we believe in and are honored to support with this basket that symbolizes the hallowed ground of Arlington National Cemetery on the outside and the patriotism of the fallen service members on the inside.

“When we launched Dresden & Company three years ago, our mission was to preserve Dresden’s basketmaking heritage and put talented artisans back to work. They collectively had hundreds and hundreds of years of experience. Their expertise and the pride they take in their work ensures we provide the highest quality baskets to our valued Customers, Hosts and Proprietors. Every time we place a basket in a box to ship out of Dresden, we know it’s something we can be proud of.” — Jim Lepi, Founder
MASTER BASKET HANDLER! When you grab one of your Dresden & Company baskets to carry a casserole to the family reunion, you’re holding a work of art from the weaving all the way to the handles. Randy Beach loves working with wood and is a master at shaping the handles that we use. For 34 years, he has been crafting basket handles, making each one with pride. In his spare time at home, he makes clocks. Like many of our basketmakers and support team, he has been involved in this craft for his entire career and is proud to be part of the movement that has brought basketmaking back to Dresden. He and everyone else on the team is looking forward to your visit to Dresden.

IDEAS FOR PARTYING THE CHARCUTERIE WAY Making an epic charcuterie board to entertain your friends is like painting a canvas with food. It can be as bright and colorful as you want, bursting at invisible seams, and enticing in every bite. Dresden & Company has many of the elements you need for your masterpiece, starting with our serving trays and cutting board. Add in our gourmet foods and our ramekins. Creating your board involves choosing the foods you want to serve, envisioning the ebb and flow of the river of meats, cheeses, fruits, crackers, condiments, olives and nuts, and then staging the board. Consider a bagel or pancake board for brunch, a more traditional meat and cheese charcuterie for happy hour, or a dessert board with brownies, fruit, cheeses and nuts. Create and enjoy!

“Made in the USA … that’s one of the things I most appreciate about Dresden & Company! When I first saw our wonderful Beech Bowls and learned that they are made right here in my home state of Michigan, I fell in love with Dresden & Company. These Bowls are definitely the reason I decided to join as a Proprietor. I keep my 12” Beech Bowl close so I’m ready at any time to share my D&Co. adventures!”
— Pat, Proprietor, Michigan
FOURTH GENERATION BOWL MAKERS! D&Co. proudly partners with Holland Bowl Mill for our exclusive Beech Bowls, beautiful examples of American craftsmanship handed down through the generations. The artisans at the mill in Michigan craft each bowl from a single piece of American wood in a process that takes almost a month to complete. It is the way the bowls have been made for more than 100 years. No two bowls are alike because of the grain of the wood. Use them to serve dinner or as a decorative piece for your home. dresdenandcompany.com
