As we step into Punta Mita's 25th winter season, it is with immense joy and gratitude that we welcome you back to our cherished paradise. The journey we've embarked upon together has been one of evolution, shared experiences, and continuous enhancement.

In the spirit of progress, we're elated to announce the forthcoming Montage Punta Mita & Pendry Punta Mita hotels.

This milestone signifies not only a new chapter in our story but also a testament to the world-class destination we've become.

With each passing year, our Master Plan edges closer to its final form, promising an even more enriching and immersive experience for our cherished visitors.

As a testament to our dedication, the new Club House is well underway and set to grace our landscape next season.

The El Encanto III residences are nearing completion. Simultaneously, the Porta Fortuna Villas are making remarkable progress, promising elevated living spaces that harmonize with the natural beauty that surrounds us. Our Beach Clubs have expanded capacities as well as select new Food & Beverage offerings. We are also beginning a second phase of El Surf Club which will be ready for next season. We are committed to ensuring that our growth is accompanied by an increase in the variety of amenities we have on offer in the destination, enabling us to continue to offer the world class experiences that we are acclaimed for.

These past years have been nothing short of extraordinary, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our supporters who've been instrumental in making our dreams a reality. Carl Emberson es originario de las Islas Fiji y se educó en Australia. Es graduado de la Swiss Hotel Association Management School Les Roches, con una carrera que abarca casi 40 años en más de 10 países desde Fiji y Australia hasta Europa y poco más de 30 años en América Latina entre Argentina, Uruguay, Brasil y México. Ahora reside en México en su cargo actual como Director de Marketing y Operaciones de Punta Mita. En estos últimos años, Carl, un ávido golfista, ha sido un apasionado promotor y embajador de Punta Mita, uno de los principales destinos de lujo de América.

He is a graduate of the Swiss Hotel Association Management School Les Roches, with a career that spans nigh 40 years in over 10 countries from Fiji & Australia to Europe and just over 30 years in Latin American between Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, & Mexico. He now resides in Punta Mita in his present role as Director of Marketing & Operations of Punta Mita. For over a decade now Carl, an avid golfer, has been a passionate promoter and Ambassador of Punta Mita, one of America’s leading luxury destinations.

John McIntyre

John McIntyre brings decades of knowledge to his role as Director of Punta Mita Golf Club. Leaving a career practicing law in Colorado and California to pursue his true passion for golf, he gained a wealth of international experience including time as the PGA Director of Golf for Frost Creek Country Club in Colorado and as the PGA Director for TPC Cancun Country Club.

Since November 2017, John has overseen all golf operations and programming for both Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses in Punta Mita.

John McIntyre aporta décadas de conocimiento a su papel como Director de Punta Mita Golf Club. For Lynne Bairstow, Mexico has become more of a home than her native United States. She currently lives in Mexico City, however over the past twenty years she has spent most of her time in Puerto Vallarta and the Punta Mita region. As the author of the Punta Mita book by Assouline, nine books about Mexico including the Frommer’s and Dummies guidebook series, she has developed a deep affection and respect for the customs, culture, and natural treasures of Mexico. Her travel articles on Mexico have appeared in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and various national magazines. Punta Mita is home for Lynne, where she enjoys her ideal lifestyle of startups and surfing.

Nacida en Argentina, licenciada en Comunicación y experta en contenidos y branding durante más de una década tuvo la oportunidad de vivir en países andinos (México, Perú, Chile y Argentina), donde profundizó su interés y conocimiento en culturas ancestrales, cuántica y espiritualidad. The community of Punta de Mita is the heartbeat of this land. And for Fundación DINE Punta Mita, the collaboration with, and well-being of, this community are the epicenter of its work. Since its inception, the Foundation has been committed to supporting educational, health and employment projects.

One of the Foundation's most notable achievements is its collaboration with PEACE Punta de Mita for the construction of Campus de Mita. This ambitious project spans five years and three phases, with the goal of creating a vital learning center in the community of Emiliano Zapata. Phase I included the construction of high school classrooms and technical workshops, along with the necessary infrastructure. Phase II comprised the reconstruction of the secondary school and sports facilities on public land. Finally, Phase III envisions an advanced learning center, administrative facilities, and teacher housing. DINE, Punta Mita's developer, donated the initial land for the construction of Phase I, and Fundación DINE Punta Mita is committed to continuing to raise resources for the completion and maintenance of the Campus.

Throughout the year, the Foundation organizes events that not only raise funds for its projects, but also provides the opportunity to share its important work with the community.

Health is a priceless treasure, and Fundación DINE Punta Mita understands this perfectly. It works in close collaboration with the Punta Mita Hospital Foundation, whose team forms health brigades that serve the community at nominal or even no cost in areas ranging from geriatrics and pediatrics to dentistry. In addition, an emergency assessment committee is responsible for evaluating cases requiring hospitalization or surgery, which are provided at no cost to the patient.

Punta Mita is a paradise where nature unfolds in all its splendor. Fundación DINE Punta Mita, in collaboration with the Banderas Bay Turtle Camp and Network (ICSAS AC), strives to protect one of the most significant species in the region: sea turtles. These majestic reptiles come to the beaches surrounding Punta Mita to nest, and thanks to the hard work of the turtle network and Punta Mita's trained personnel, their eggs are safeguarded until hatching and then released onto the beaches with all the safety measures in place to promote their survival.

In 2022, more than 2,800 sea turtle hatchlings were released over a three-month period, a tangible testament to the Foundation's tireless work to preserve marine life within its natural environment.

Fundación DINE Punta Mita is a testament to what is possible when a community comes together for the common good. Over the years, the Foundation has woven a network of support that has positively influenced the lives of people who call Punta de Mita home, but its work does not stop there; its commitment to the community and the planet is unwavering, and the future promises even more accomplishments and successful projects.

he beautiful calm is broken only by your ball being launched into one of the generous Jack Nicklaus fairways. It feels very close to golf perfection.

The elegance of the moment owes to both the amazing peninsula of land on which Punta Mita sits, as well as the luxurious coastal terrain Jack Nicklaus and his team were allowed to utilize for the routing of both our golf courses.

In an era when developers reserve nearly all significant coastal lands for residential development –to be enjoyed by only a lucky few– the developers here assured that some of the most exclusive views and experiences would be enjoyed by all golfers in perpetuity. It remains true today, and always, that the Pacifico course boasts eight truly oceanside holes, while Bahia presents nearly as impressive a number at five coastal holes.

Both the Pacifico and Bahia courses remain among Golfweek Magazine’s Top 10 courses in Mexico, Caribbean, Atlantic Islands, & Central America, with Pacifico ranked #5 and Bahia ranked #9, respectively, in the 2022 report.

Meanwhile the anecdotal evidence from hundreds or even thousands of conversations with members and visitors reveals that our golfers enjoy many different aspects of the courses, rather than a singular refrain pointing to the views. I constantly hear about how “fun” the courses are, how different one is from the other, and how wide a variety of shots is required of each golfer.

One recent project receives wide and constant praise –Pacifico’s restoration work. Completed in 2021, the Pacifico’s new greens and surrounds fully matured by late 2022. The greens complexes, bunkering, and zoysia surrounds offer wonderful playability and aesthetics– and have returned the overall experience to a genuinely worldclass level.

dditionally, the past several years have seen multiple projects to restore the sublime Pacific Ocean and Banderas Bay views from our most prized ocean holes. More than ever, an early start on either course opens the door to some of the most gorgeous moments available to any golfer, as these ocean holes become flooded with early morning light. The famous island hole –Pacifico 3b– is often awash in bright sunlight while you the golfer remain comfortably in the early morning shade. Bahia’s shortest par 5 –the par 3 3rd hole– is framed by early sun and offers views of still waters and the occasional early morning standup paddleboard enthusiast paddling gently towards Sufi pier.

A major clubhouse addition began earlier this year (expected completion late 2024), and in conjunction with that project a new outlet sprung to life near the Pacifico 1st tee area.

When combined with continued enhancements to the golf courses, these additions create a sense of renewal and revitalization for our golf enthusiasts. As Punta Mita enters its 25th year of operations, there has never been greater energy and excitement permeating the property.

Member’s Clubhouse Casa Club para Miembros

he marquee expansion beginning Summer 2023 is the new Member Clubhouse. As the rendering below shows, this building will be adjacent to the existing Pro Shop, Tail of the Whale restaurant, and the rest of the original clubhouse areas. The existing areas will continue to provide service and support to all our hotel guests and renters, much the same as the past 24 years. The new facility and all its amenities will be available only to our Punta Mita members and their guests -and will include a restaurant, bar and patio area, men’s and ladies locker rooms, administrative offices, enlarged pro shop, meeting rooms, and other future expansion opportunities.

nitially conceived as a constructionrelated alternative to enjoying breakfast or lunch at Tail of the Whale restaurant during loud, dusty construction days, this new outlet has the potential to offer a popular location for post-rounds drinks and snacks, member events, movie nights, and private parties.

THE DECK is also being considered for pre-round provisions to calm nerves, slake thirst, and/or bring along some snacks to stave off hunger until golfers can enjoy their post-round world-famous fajitas from Chef Bertha at Tail of the Whale.

The location promises a gorgeous view corridor towards the Pacifico 16th green and 17th hole, with the Pacific Ocean framing the entire setting. With an outdoor grille, semi-circle bar area, and large covered patio, THE DECK will undoubtedly become a favorite for members and guests alike.

Playing golf with Jean Van de Velde in the Annual Punta Mita Pro Am -we had a blast. I had played a Pro-Am with Jean at Carnoustie circa 2001, I believe, so it was great to see each other here in Punta Mita.

When did you start golfing and who introduced you to the game?

I started golfing at the age of 4, with my father.

Chef Héctor Leyva shares his exclusive recipe for Grilled Octopus, a dish that captures the essence of the Mexican Pacific and celebrates the freshness of the sea with a touch of creativity.

El chef Héctor Leyva comparte su exclusiva receta de Pulpo a la Parrilla, un platillo que captura la esencia del Pacífico Mexicano y celebra la frescura del mar con un toque de creatividad.

Ingredients | Ingredientes • 1 medium size octopus (2/4) • 200g. of cambray potatoes • 150g. of cauliflower • ½ kg. parsnip • 100g. butter • 1/2 onion • 2 carrots • 1 stalk of celery • Chimichurri sauce • Salt and pepper to taste

• 1 pulpo de tamaño mediano (2/4) • 200g. Papas Cambray • 150g. Coliflor • ½ kg. Chirivía • 100g. Mantequilla • 1/2 Cebolla • 2 Zanahorias • 1 Tallo de apio • Salsa chimichurri • Sal y pimienta al gusto

Preparation | Preparación 1. Boil 3 liters of water with onion, carrot, celery, and salt. Once the water is boiling, add the octopus and lower the flame to a medium heat, and let cook for 55 minutes. Remove the octopus, cut into tentacles, and set aside.

2. Cook the parsnip in boiling water, drain; blend with salt and butter until you have a terza consistency.

3. Cook the potatoes in salted water until soft; then sauté with chimichurri.

4. Dredge the cauliflower in cornstarch and fry.

5. Grill half an octopus and fry the other half with cornstarch.

6. To assemble the dish, put a bed of parsnip puree on the base, then add the octopus, cauliflower, potatoes and add some chimichurri.

1. Hervir 3 litros de agua con cebolla, zanahoria, apio y sal. Una vez que el agua esté hirviendo, añadir el pulpo y reducir el fuego a medio. Cocinar durante 55 minutos. Retirar el pulpo, cortar en tentáculos y reservar.

2. Cocinar la chirivía en agua hirviendo, escurrir; luego mezclar con sal y mantequilla hasta obtener una consistencia tersa.

3. Cocinar las papas en agua con sal hasta que estén blandas; luego saltearlas con chimichurri.

4. Rebozar la coliflor en almidón de maíz y freír.

5. Asar la mitad del pulpo y freír la otra mitad con almidón de maíz.

6. Para montar el platillo, colocar una cama de puré de chirivía en la base, luego añadir el pulpo, coliflor, papas y agregar un poco de chimichurri.

ontinuing our journey through Punta Mita, we come across El Milagro Diario, a house that captivates with its garden inspired by Asian gardens and jungles. Designed by architects Juan and Jorge Collignon, this sanctuary combines a variety of local natural elements such as stone and Parotta Ipe wood, cane weavings, and rocks, with a variety of plants including palms, ferns, native trees, lilies, and bougainvillea that provide enchanting aromas, creating a harmonious and natural atmosphere.

One of its owners, a passionate yoga practitioner, finds in her garden a way to reflect her deep connection with spirituality. Every year, she visits the golden temple of Sri Sakthi Narayani Amma in India, so she has incorporated sculptures and furniture from India, Indonesia, Bali, and other Asian countries within her garden that honor and celebrate yoga and meditation.

These sculptures represent Hindu gods and goddesses, bringing rich iconography from that region and enriching the ambiance of the space, as they can be seen in the palapa, from where one can

contemplate the marvelous view of the ocean while relaxing in the infinity pool accompanied by the gentle sound of the sea. However, the true gem of the garden is the yoga platform surrounded by rocks, ferns, and beautiful Parotta columns, evoking a serene Asian-inspired oasis that immerses one in tranquility.

This garden becomes an escape from daily routines, reminding us of the beauty of the Earth and the importance of appreciating it. Its owners say: "People don't take time to smell the roses, so you have to bring

The natural energy that emanates is magical, where the garden and the residence come together in an indescribable symbiosis. The initial design by architect Manolo Mestre, along with the enhancements by architect Sebastian Gundler and landscape architect Jean-Philippe Armenta, has transformed this garden into an architectural masterpiece that allows us to appreciate the beauty of nature.

At the beginning of the garden, we are welcomed by a bronze sculpture created by artist Jorge Marín, a winged man on horseback with open arms inviting us to discover the multitude of plants and trees that offer an extraordinary display of aromas and colors.

Bougainvillea captivate us with their beauty, while parottas and various species of palm trees adorn the landscape. An impressive Strangler Fig Tree over 250 years old stands prominently at the center of the property, undoubtedly the true protagonist of this place. This gigantic tree emits a spiritual vibe that draws us in this paradise, and it's impossible to resist the urge to touch and embrace it. This is why the residence was specifically built on pilings and beams to protect this natural treasure and allow it to thrive.

Additionally, a charming pond inhabited by Koi fish and surrounded by water lilies illuminate the positive energy and vitality of the place.

ur next discovery is Casa Eclipse, designed by renowned architects Manolo Mestre and Juan Collignon. This garden brings to life the vision of its owners, who wanted a garden that contrasted with the desert landscapes of Cabo San Lucas.

They envisioned a garden that would take advantage of the local climate and harmonize with the natural surroundings.

The gardens of Casa Eclipse were designed to realize a subtle transition between spaces and highlight the most notable architectural features. A wide variety of plants and elements were included, together with an infinity pool that provides a serene atmosphere, perfect for relaxation. Here, fire becomes an essential element, ideal for sharing memorable moments around a bonfire with friends during the evenings.

One distinctive and meaningful feature stands out: an imposing rock at the front of the property. With no alterations during construction, it became the inspiration for a prominent corner of the garden. A path leads to the rock, where a cozy hammock provides a place for enjoying a moment to take in the view of the ocean and the 18th hole of the Pacifico Golf Course. During certain seasons, humpback whales can be spotted leaping in the sea. This rock has become a symbol of

the constancy and permanence of the environment. In the words of its owner, its presence is, "The perfect reminder of what was always there."

The architecture of the house exemplifies a design that integrates with the garden, rather than the garden adapting to the house. The result is a vivid experience that invites us to immerse ourselves in this captivating environment.

The journey began with the arrival of the talented Chef Tomas Bermudez and his team from La Docena in Guadalajara, ranked an impressive 42nd among all Latin American restaurants. Chef Tomas Bermudez has mastered the art of utilizing the finest locally sourced Mexican ingredients, creating dishes that are bursting with flavor and visual appeal. Building on the success of La Docena's residency, El Surf Club introduced a different concept for its second pop-up, "Vines to Surf," featuring the talented Chefs David Castro and Alfredo Villanueva. Chef David Castro, renowned for his establishments Fauna and Bruma Wine Garden in Valle de Guadalupe – ranked an impressive 16th among Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants – showcased his culinary brilliance alongside his friend Alfredo 68

Villanueva, the talent behind "Villa Torel" in Ensenada, ranked 18th in the same awards. Both chefs drew inspiration from the vineyards of Valle de Guadalupe, in creating a menu that featured seasonal ingredients sourced exclusively from the Nayarit region. To complement the culinary experience, a carefully curated wine list highlighted their preferred selections from Valle de Guadalupe.

From gratinated oysters with gorgonzola cheese to bluefin tuna ceviche with spicy mayonnaise and cucumber, each dish created a symphony of flavors that delighted the palate.

To conclude the pop-up season at El Surf Club, the venue hosted "Alcalde on the Beach" in April.

Chef Francisco 'Paco' Ruano, renowned for his restaurant Alcalde in Guadalajara, brought his simple yet authentic Mexican cuisine to the shores of Punta Mita. s one who is passionate about water sports, I’ve been asked many times, “…what makes Punta Mita so spectacular?” it’s an easy question to answer: it’s the geography! Punta Mita is a spectacular headland that juts out into the Pacific Ocean on the northern tip of Banderas Bay, which is a geographical marvel in itself, as it is one of the largest bays in the Americas. With the Sierra Madre Mountain range sheltering its southern flank, this combines to create a world class surf panorama!

The three revealing exposures of Punta Mita offer great spots for Northern and Southern hemisphere swells that come from storms generated during two primary swell seasons.

Low pressure systems create pressure on the ocean surface, and –like a beach ball in a bathtub –the swell radiates from the center and sends swells in every direction. The swells clean up as they move towards Mexico and once they hit the Punta Mita headland, they wrap into the bay around the different breaks.

The dedicated few who get out of bed early and direct their calls to voice mail are out enjoying a precious few hours of glassy meditation.

The Winter season that extends from October to March is a great season for beginner and intermediate surfers, as the swells come from the north and wrap around to the southern exposed beaches like El Faro and La Lancha, creating glassy sets with long running right handers.

The Summer season, from April to September, can get a little “heavy” and the local pros keep an eye on forecasting apps like windy.com to get a glimpse into the future surf conditions. The Southern Hemisphere swells can occasionally bring some bad weather, but for the most part we stay protected by the Sierra Madre Mountain range to the South. Keep your eyes peeled this time of year for big name surfers hunting for waves around the more aggressive beach or point breaks by the Punta Mita Surf Taxi. The warm water, ample supply of waves, and lack of ‘localism’ make this the perfect combo for a spectacular surf destination.

The way that Punta Mita pokes out into the Pacific revealing North, South, and West facing exposed beaches, almost guarantees that whatever the "Insider Scoop" on the top 3 breaks of Punta Mita:

Bahía Bahia is quite often the place to go when there are no waves anywhere else, it’s known for its consistency of quality waves, but it’s not a spot for beginner surfers when the swell is firing! It is a rocky reef break, so on the inside you can get into some pretty sharp and shallow spots.

Surf Bahia in the morning, during low to mid-tide, and you will find yourself on some very fast A-frame right handers. The best way to access Bahia is with the Punta Mita Surf Taxi, coming from the Sufi Ocean Club.

El Faro If you’ve ever seen this spot light up with a pumping summer swell, you may be reminded of that Indonesian photo on your fridge with long bending lines of perfect symmetry… it’s the best kept secret of Punta Mita! It needs some size to work well, but you won’t forget this spot and the long rides any time soon! It’s an intermediate advanced wave, reef, and rock, you don’t want to get caught over on the left side. Surf El Faro during mid-tide in the morning; the best access is with the Punta Mita Surf Taxi from the Sufi Ocean Club.

La Lancha This is the spot for beginners of all shapes and sizes, and it has become the go-to spot for most of the local surf schools, so it is getting pretty busy. It is essentially three breaks, one for beginners, one for intermediates, and reform surf school bonanza on the inside! The beginner break has some intermittent rocks and a mainly sandy bottom. This break is right in front of the Punta Mita Surf Club, a new beach club with a super cool vibe, great scenery with cliffs and palms, and beautiful turquoise waters. At La Lancha you can surf all day, but the best conditions are in the morning, before the wind comes up.

No matter what time of year you come, you will have a high probability of getting into some ideal conditions to satisfy your deepest saltwater desires!

Not to worry, even on the big days, you can book your beginner lesson inside the re-forms of Pacifico Beach Club or the beautiful Surf Club.

omo apasionado de los deportes acuáticos, muchas veces me han preguntado - ¿Qué hace que Punta Mita sea tan espectacular?”- es una pregunta fácil de responder: la geografía. Punta Mita es una península que se adentra en el Océano Pacífico al extremo norte de la Bahía de Banderas, una maravilla geográfica en sí misma, ya que es una de las bahías más grandes de América. Con la cordillera de la Sierra Madre protegiendo su flanco sur, se combina para crear un panorama de surf de clase mundial.

Las tres aguas que rodean Punta Mita ofrecen excelentes lugares para las marejadas del hemisferio norte y sur que provienen de tormentas generadas durante dos temporadas principales. Los sistemas de baja presión crean presión en la superficie del océano y, como una pelota de playa en una bañera, el oleaje irradia desde el centro y envía olas en todas direcciones. Las olas se perfeccionan a medida que avanzan hacia México y una vez que golpean las costas de Punta Mita, se envuelven en la bahía alrededor de los diferentes puntos de surf. La Lancha

Bahía Bahía es a menudo el lugar para ir cuando no hay olas en ningún otro lugar, este punto de surf es conocido por su consistencia de olas de calidad, ¡pero no es un lugar para surfistas principiantes cuando el oleaje está en marcha! Es un arrecife rocoso, por lo que en el interior puedes encontrar algunos lugares bastante afilados y poco profundos.

Navega por Bahía por la mañana, durante la marea baja o media, y te encontrarás en algunas curvas a la derecha muy rápidas. La mejor forma de acceder a Bahía es con el Punta Mita Surf Taxi, viniendo desde el Sufi Ocean Club.

El Faro Si alguna vez has visto este lugar iluminarse con el oleaje de verano, es posible que te acuerdes de esa foto de Indonesia en tu refrigerador con largas líneas curvas de perfecta simetría... ¡es el secreto mejor guardado de Punta Mita! Necesitas algo de experiencia para funcionar bien, ¡pero no olvidarás este lugar y sus largos paseos en las olas! Es una ola intermedia avanzada, arrecife y roca, por lo que no querrás quedar atrapado en el lado izquierdo. Surfea El Faro durante la marea media de la mañana; el mejor acceso es con el Punta Mita Surf Taxi desde Sufi Ocean Club.

Whoever has had the pleasure of spending some time in Punta Mita knows exactly what we are talking about. The incomparable "Tail of the Whale" (TOW) is iconic in this paradisiacal destination, but it still has some secrets to unveil...

Beyond the challenging golf hole on a natural island, TOW is a place that concentrates a powerful energy and charisma. And not only that, it also has its own Protector.

According to the cosmovision of ancestral Andean cultures, mountains or hills take care of territories, crops, and people. In several countries of the region, these mountains are called protective Apus and are attributed with direct influence over the vital cycles of the areas where they are present. One of their most important missions is to watch over the sacred places, the spaces of high energy of the Earth.

In Tail of the Whale, we see a figure of a face erected on one of the largest rocks of the islet -- attentive, vigilant, looking out to sea and towards the beautiful beach of the Pacifico Beach Club. This wonderful space has its own Apu! But the protective hills do not work alone. There are always at least two of them. And in Punta Mita, we were able to discover that indeed the Apu of TOW is not alone but has for its companion the "Lying Indian" (or "dead Indian") which is located next to the Marietas Islands, and at whose base we can see a Lion/Jaguar guardian of the Pacific Sea. Both islets rest approximately 9 miles away from each other. They accompany and protect all those who pass by.

We had the opportunity to enjoy the blessings of this place in the Punta Mita Shamanic and Healing program event held in June of 2022.

While enjoying ancestral shamanic cleansings, quantum therapies, bioenergy, and medicinal ceremonies with cacao, we were fortunate witnesses of its landscape, its glorious sunset, and its energy. A mixture of sea and earth, of closeness and distance, of presence and power, that accompanied and protected us, together in this first journey of Wellness and Self-knowledge.

As a closing of the Shamanic and Healing Program event, we performed the "Ceremony of the Sun" at sunset, in front of the TOW. The four elements (air, earth, water, and fire) were present in a blessed moment that closed a transforming body and soul experience.

Más allá del desafiante hoyo de golf en una isla natural, “Tail of the Whale” es un lugar que concentra una poderosa energía y carisma. Y no sólo eso, también cuenta con su propio protector.

Según la cosmovisión de las culturas ancestrales andinas, las montañas o cerros cuidan los territorios, los cultivos y las personas. En varios países de la región, estas montañas reciben el nombre de Apus (protectores) y se les atribuye una influencia directa sobre los ciclos vitales de las zonas donde están presentes. Una de sus misiones más importantes es velar por los lugares sagrados, los espacios de alta energía de la Tierra.

En Tail of the Whale, vemos la figura de un rostro erigido sobre una de las roncas más grandes del islote; atento, vigilante, mirando hacia el mar y hacia la hermosa playa del Pacifico Beach Club. ¡Este maravilloso espacio tiene su propio Apu! Pero las colinas protectoras no trabajan solas. Siempre hay al menos dos. Y en Punta Mita, pudimos descubrir que efectivamente el Apu de TOW no está solo, sino que tiene por compañero al "Indio Yacente" (o "indio muerto") que se encuentra junto a las Islas Marietas y en cuya base podemos ver un león/jaguar guardián del mar Pacífico. Ambos islotes descansan aproximadamente a 9 millas de distancia el uno del otro. Acompañan y protegen a todos los que pasan por allí.

Tuvimos la oportunidad de disfrutar de las maravillas de este lugar en el evento Punta Mita Shamanic and Healing Program realizado en junio del 2022. Mientras disfrutábamos de limpiezas chamánicas ancestrales, terapias cuánticas, bioenergía y ceremonias medicinales con cacao, fuimos testigos afortunados de su paisaje, de su glorioso atardecer y de su energía. Una mezcla de mar y tierra, de cercanía y distancia, de presencia y poder, que nos acompañó y protegió, juntos en este primer viaje de bienestar y autoconocimiento.

...No alcanzamos a preguntarle a este hermoso Apu cómo se llamaba... sin duda es la mejor excusa para volver pronto a Punta Mita y preguntárselo. ¡Están todos invitados a descubrir este viaje espiritual!

Day One PRACTICE ROUND + HORSERACE SHOOTOUT

Non-golfers embarked on a private Whale Watching Excursion aboard Punta Mita's exclusive speedboat, as it is prime season for whale migrations. Countless Instagram-worthy moments were captured.

Meanwhile, golfers enjoyed a casual practice round followed by a thrilling four-hole Horserace Shootout, attended by 15 teams. Teams were gradually eliminated until only three remained, with the competition concluding on the iconic third hole-an island green Par 3. The victorious team, The A Team from Arizona, not only emerged triumphant but also received 50,000 American Airlines miles.

Day Two ROUND ONE + COOKING CLASS

Non-golfers partook in a delightful Cooking Class held at the Pacifico Beach Club. Perfect weather conditions, complemented by a refreshing ocean breeze from the Pacific, greeted the golfers on the Bahia Course. The Pro-Am format featured two best balls—one gross, one net—with amateurs playing to 80 percent of their handicap. The competition witnessed a display of exceptional skills, as six professionals finished within five shots of the lead, with four of them shooting under par. At this stage, it was too early to designate a clear frontrunner in the team competition.

While the Pro-Am reached its thrilling climax, non-competing participants indulged in a Wine Tasting Event. As the teams concluded their play, many gathered around the leaderboard, strategically positioned near the picturesque 18th green overlooking the Pacific Ocean on the Pacifico Course. "It was a fitting end to a marvelous couple of days spent under the warm tropical sun," expressed Wendy Wisbon, Head Golf Professional at Annandale Golf Club in California. The evening culminated in a magnificent dinner, skillfully prepared by Executive Chef David Vidales at the Pacifico Beach Club, accompanied by exquisite wine pairings. During the ceremony, trophies were presented to the deserving winners.

El formato Pro-Am consistió en dos mejores bolas, una bruta y otra neta, y los aficionados jugaron al 80% de su handicap.

La competición fue testigo de una exhibición de habilidades excepcionales, ya que seis profesionales terminaron a cinco golpes de la cabeza, cuatro de ellos bajo par. En esta fase, era demasiado pronto para designar un claro favorito en la competición por equipos.

Los no golfistas se embarcaron en una excursión privada de avistamiento de ballenas a bordo de la exclusiva lancha rápida de Punta Mita, ya que es temporada alta para las migraciones de ballenas.

Se capturaron innumerables momentos dignos de Instagram. Mientras tanto, los golfistas disfrutaron de una ronda de práctica informal seguida de un emocionante Horserace Shootout de cuatro hoyos, al que asistieron 15 equipos. Los equipos fueron eliminados gradualmente hasta que solo quedaron tres, y la competición concluyó en el emblemático tercer hoyo, un Par 3 con green de isla. El equipo vencedor, el Equipo A de Arizona, no sólo salió triunfante, sino que también recibió 50.000 millas de American Airlines.

Mientras el Pro-Am llegaba a su emocionante clímax, los participantes no competidores disfrutaron de una Cata de Vinos. Cuando los equipos concluyeron su juego, muchos se reunieron alrededor de la tabla de clasificación, estratégicamente situada cerca del pintoresco green del hoyo 18 con vistas al Océano Pacífico en el Campo Pacífico. "Fue un final apropiado para un par de días maravillosos pasados bajo el cálido sol tropical", expresó Wendy Wisbon, jefa Profesional de Golf en el Club de Golf Annandale en California.
