MAKE FINANCIAL LITERACY FUN, AND VISUAL!
It’s not just about Financial Literacy, but Financial Joy. Earning confidence starts young and can be developed & encouraged as our careers shift. I love love love how this month’s feature creates expereinces for her audience.
Mara Williams has been guiding young children and professionals for years! She’s currently serving on the Board for the Snohomish Chamber of Commerce, running her business, and inspiring young minds to learn about important financial concepts that inspire entrepreneurship. We share a passion for helping others know the data behind their dreams.
I choose her for this publication because her work truly inspires me and it’s supporting the next generation. Her body of work continues to empower motivated minds to add value into the marketplace and grow confidence around business matters.

Introduce new games and financial concepts to the little ones.
If you have ever gifted a teen cash or a gift card, you are a part of their early financial experience.
Conversations about money and sales aren’t prioritized in every home, but that’s beginning to change!
This publication highlights a local leader and friend of mine who is committed to bringing financial fun into homes in Snohomish County and beyond.
In the Revenue Ringlet, I encourage members to gamify their own effort. This publication invites you to bring a young person into the conversation.
What if our approach to financial skill building started younger?
Editor-in-Chief Marcelle Allen

Balancing coaching and authorship, Mara creates colorful, practical resources that make money topics easy and even fun for kids and families. Her books include handson activities that teach earning, budgeting, saving, spending, and giving. Parents love how her tools spark real conversations and build confidence in kids (and adults!).

Mara's sixth book is her first bilingual (English & Spanish) edition, inspired by Day of the Dead and Quinceañeras traditions reaching even more diverse families. Her subscription service pairs each book with activity packets and fun extras to bring financial lessons to life.
community collaboration

Mara partners with local events and organizations like the Snohomish Farmers Market, encouraging children's entrepreneurship and leadership. Her workshops build more than business skills; they grow confidence, communication, and leadership that last a lifetime.
Through her color code communication workshops, Mara helps teams and leaders understand interpersonal dynamics, improving workplace effectiveness and customer service. She’s known for helping people discover their strengths, connect better, and lead with impact.

Six Books. Big Impact.

The first money lesson is often not saving, it’s noticing.

Mara’s envelopes give kids a place to sort money. The next lesson is noticing where the money actually goes.
That moment was not a failure. It was information. When kids can see where their money went, the conversation changes from “why did you spend that?” to “what pattern do you notice?” Do you know the last 7 transactions your kids made? or YOU? Savings
One story Mara shared from a kids fair was about a boy who made money with his own creations and then happily spent nearly all of it at the other booths. Sweet? Yes. Generous? Probably. Impulsive? Maybe. But most importantly, it showed a pattern. And the same is true for adults. Business owners, parents, and everyday decisionmakers all have patterns hidden inside their transactions and choices. The Highlighter Method takes the same idea further: color the choices, notice the pattern, and decide what needs to change.

When choices are color-coded, priorities are easy to spot.

The harvest of our labor can be easier to understand when it is visual. In The Revenue Ringlet, Marcelle often translates net- profit into playful imagery so numbers feel tangible, not distant. A strawberry month looks different from a pineapple month—and that instant recognition changes the conversation.
The goal is not to oversimplify money, but to make it approachable enough to discuss, review, and improve.
Visual tools do what lectures often can’t: they invite curiosity. And when people are curious, they engage.

MARA’S BOOK, TIM YOUNG TURNS CLOUDS INTO COINS BR R NET PROFIT DOWN SO CLEARLY! READ IT YOURSELF AND THEN GIFT IT AWAY!

Because the message doesn’t end when the books fnished.
There is a moment many creators, authors, and business owners wait for: the moment the thing is finally done. The book is written, the offer is built, the product is ready, the page is published, and the idea that once lived only in your head now exists in the world.
For a second, it feels like the hard part should be over. But Mara Williams’ work is a reminder that creating the thing is only part of the assignment. The next part is helping people understand it, connect with it, use it, remember it, and pass it on.
That is where the promotion begins.
Not always as another book. Sometimes writing looks like a caption, a video, a printable activity, a podcast clip, a meme, a classroom prompt, an infographic, or one more explanation that finally makes the concept click.
Mara’s books be the founda but her mess keeps moving because she keeps building around them.

So often, we create something meaningful and assume one post, one announcement, one launch, or one conversation should be enough. But people rarely understand the full value the first time they see it.

A well-structured promotion plan matters because creating something is only part of the journey. Whether you are releasing a book, launching a business, sharing a service, or growing a personal brand, the work can only create impact if people know it exists. For Mara finishing the book is not the finish line. The next season of work is communicating it, sharing it, and helping the right people connect with it.

Promotion gives your message direction. Instead of randomly posting when you remember, a plan helps you decide what you are saying, who you are saying to it, and where it should be shared. Certain posts, visuals, collaborations, and tags help reach more people because they gave the audience a clearer reason to pay attention. The goal is not to be loud everywhereit’s to make your work easier to understand, easier to share, and easier to engage with.

A promotion plan is not just posting more.
It is the bridge between the thing you created and the people who would actually benefit from it.
Promotion Plan CHECKLIST
What am I promoting?
Who needs to know?
What value does it bring?
What visuals explain it?
Who could help share it?
Where will I post/send it?

A promotion plan also gives you something to learn from. When you pay attention to what people respond to, you begin to see patterns. Which post made someone ask a question? Which visual helped explain the idea faster? Which partner, podcast, event, or conversation opened a new door? Promotion becomes less about guessing and more about noticing. The more you track and reflect, the more confident you become in how you tell the story of your work.
The best promotion plans are not just about selling. They are about stewardship. If you have taken the time to create something useful, meaningful, or helpful, then part of your responsibility is making sure it does not stay hidden. Promotion is how your work travels. It gives people a path to find you, trust you, understand you, and eventually say yes. Creating the thing is powerful. Creating a plan for how it reaches people is what allows the work to keep growing.

“I almost didn’t mention what I was working on because it felt too small to bring up. It was just a quick conversation. Nothing formal. Someone asked how business was going, and instead of giving the usual ‘good, busy’ answer, I was honest. I said I was trying to get in front of the right people but wasn’t totally sure where to start. They immediately said, ‘You need to meet someone I know.’ That one sentence turned into an introduction, then a conversation, then a real opportunity. Sometimes the connection happens after the honest answer.”

“

“I was explaining my business the way I always do: what I offer, how it works, what people get, all the practical details. It was accurate, but I could feel myself losing them. Then someone asked, ‘But what do people feel after working with you?’ I stopped. Because that was the question I had not been answering. That conversation changed the way I talked about my business. I stopped leading with the checklist and started leading with the relief, confidence, and clarity people actually walk away with.”
