About Henrietta Snype Nationally acclaimed Sweet Grass weaver, Henrietta Snype, has been weaving for decades and has had the high honor of having her work displayed in the Smithsonian Institution. Each piece is a true work of art and becomes more and more rare as we see the art form decline due to over-development and a lack of interest from younger generations to learn the art form. Drayton Hall is delighted to offer Henrietta’s sweetgrass baskets in the shop.

Wooden Bookends The grand main stair hall in Drayton Hall showcases a magnificent hand-carved mahogany balustrade. One of the most striking details of the staircase is hand-carved brackets which feature intricately carved squash flowers.

These squash flower brackets are the inspiration for the handcarved bookends.
