Ilivedinasmallvillagefar fromtown,andtherewere roughlyabout10families, whichmadeupourvillage Wedependedonthe garden,whichwecalled “slashandburn,”wherewe grewrootcropsfor consumption Wefishedin theseaforfoodaswell Ilovedgoingtothegarden withmyparentsandeven wentoutfishingwithmy dad.Lifeinthevillagewasso peacefulandsimple.We usedtolightalampatnight, andwewouldusefirewood tocookourfood Wedidn’t havetoworryabout electricityorwaterbills,as weusedournaturalrivers andwatertobatheand washourclothes

Iusuallywalkedtoschool everyday,throughthick junglesandacrossrivers. Sometimes,whenitwould rain,Iusedleavestoprotect mefromgettingwet The trackwasmuddy,andifI slippedorfell,Iwouldhave togobackbecausemy clotheswerewetand muddy Itwas5kmformeto walktoschool Schoolwould startat8:30am,andIwould havetoleavehomeat about6amtogettoschool ontime.Mumwould preparefoodat4am.
