That was how Mrs was described in the opening section of Mrs The Book, a 140-page, coffee-table style book of her life that our team put together in a little less than three months for Mrs ’ s 93 birthday, almost exactly three years ago rd
however, is one who does see beauty She also lives it because her life is her art
Many things make this woman so unlike anyone else you ' ve ever met remarkable Uppermost is her creative vision She sees the beauty that others do not often recognize She is quick to perceive those essential values that are the source of what makes people, places, and things truly beautiful She appreciates, admires, and acknowledges those qualities in her own life and work and that of others

What story during your time working with Mrs is the funniest, means the most to you, or just pops in your head first?
The story of how Mrs von Liebig became Mrs to her staff: for two years, she desperately tried to teach me how to pronounce her last name, but I couldn’t She would get really angry if you didn't say her name correctly, so to stay out of trouble, I just started calling her Mrs Then Maribel started calling her Mrs as well, and she loved it - Jack Valentin
We were in Palm Beach, and Mrs had had a few friends over for drinks the evening before I asked her how it went and she said one man brought his French mistress She and the mistress were out on the terrace of Mrs ’ s beautiful apartment admiring the amazing view The mistress said that the view was "ok," but her apartment in Monaco had a much better view Mrs said to the woman, "Aren't you a lucky duck?" The woman was suddenly very offended and said, "I am not a duck!" before walking away Mrs thought it was hysterically funny - Michael Ennis
A French waiter, at the limit of politeness, was flirting with Mrs He stated that he wanted to marry her With a lovely smile on her face, Mrs said she had too much on her mind today, but the next time she came to the restaurant, she would see if he was still interested - Van Kirk Reeves
One of my favorite memories is the trip with Mrs to inaugurate her "Suzanne von Liebig Theatre" at Juniata College On the day of the dedication, we all enjoyed a beautiful stroll through the Juniata Campus, talked about Mr von Liebig's accomplishments and his named Center for Science and were then treated to an outstanding performance of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night in the theater David still speaks of the characterizations of the young actors and of the inventive staging and lighting concept made possible by the state-of-the-art equipment Mrs had provided for her theater
As the cherry on top, Mrs suddenly invited us to fly back to FL on her plane So we canceled our flights, 'ditched' the rental car, and made our way with her to her magnificent Global Challenger at State College airport Everything was white, gold, and mahogany (or at least that's how I remember it) Everyone took their shoes off in consideration of the white carpet, and only clear liquids were served: Don Perignon, Vodka, white wine, and water; no coffee, no coke, no orange juice, which served us just fine :) Mrs got off the plane at Teterboro, and Marissa and Burt Hartington, David and I had the immense pleasure of flying with the plane back to Naples Mrs and her team had even organized a last minute lunch for David and me as well, which was served with a Portuguese white wine Upon landing, we rolled into the 'Taj Mahanger', all in white to match the plane Waiting for our quickly organized rental car we marveled at a model of the plane in the office and then eventually drove back to West Palm from Naples For me as a private aviation fan and a 'wannabe pilot', Mrs , through her kindness and generosity, gave me the joyful memory of a lifetime! - Daniel Biaggi
At the Studio we have a gorgeous picture of her that I love as it represents a healthy happy and empowered woman in her 40s When she honored us with her visit, Mike said, "Mrs , look, they have a big picture of you, " to which she answered with her modest and elegant manners, "It could be bigger " We all laughed as that was truly funny, and I will never forget how confident and assertive she was - Eva Peña
One story that always comes to mind happened on one of her shower days Usually in the morning we would get everything ready, so that day I told Mrs that I was getting the shower ready for her She said, “Okay, but first I want some cereal ” Of course, I brought her cereal Cheerios which she loved The TV was on like usual so she started watching while eating The funny part was that she ate her cereal one piece at a time, very slowly It felt like it took forever for her to finish the bowl Before we knew it, it was already after 10 a m She looked at me and said “Well it’s too late for the shower now Next time sorry ” Then she lay down and took a nap It always makes me smile when I think about it, because it was such a simple moment but very much her way taking her time, enjoying her cereal, and making the day a little funny and memorable - Natalie Bagaturia
One of the most memorable moments was when she would come to her weekly religious appointment at Garren Salon at Henry Bendell's to have her fabulous nails and hair done, with her handsome bodyguard ready to confront any stranger who approached without permission Her shining presence attracted everyone! Never will I forget her trademark, custom-made, just-for-her, chic, unique, and exclusive perfume from Paris – Jenny Valle
One of the memories that always makes me smile when I think about Mrs is the little “fashion shows” we would have each time I visited her I went to her apartment twice a week to do her hair for many years, and somehow, almost every visit turned into a styling moment She would pull out a colorful jacket or an abaya, sometimes with feathers, sometimes with pearls, add a beautiful designer handbag, trust me to do her makeup, and always, always, always a waterfall of jewelry
She loved those moments, and her joy, confidence, and sense of style were contagious Those visits were always full of laughter and personality and they’re memories I will truly cherish forever - Sandrine Bucarelli
Another fun memory of Mrs ' s sense of humor is relayed by David (I was in Palm Beach at the time) David and Mrs went to dinner at the invitation of the then Chairman of the Palm Beach Opera at a Michelin-starred restaurant called Eighty One, which was located on 81st street between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue After Mrs and David got into the roles at 969, she said to Jack "We're slumming it tonight, we ' re going to the West Side " They then enjoyed a fun evening together! – Daniel Biaggi
One thing I will always cherish is how Mrs believed in me and played a pivotal role in helping me establish my own project Our friendship blossomed when she first asked Sandrine for bread for her Thanksgiving gatherings It was during one of those parties we both attended that Mrs was so pleased with the bread's quality that she wanted to meet me I remember feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness, as I was meeting someone from such a high-standing society for the first time However, Mrs had a remarkable way of making me feel comfortable and confident From that moment on, our paths crossed frequently, even at smaller staff events, where her kindness shone through each time we met Her support meant the world to me, and I will always be grateful for the warmth and encouragement she offered which ultimately helped me pursue my passion - Yann Ledoux
What is the biggest lesson you learned from Mrs von Liebig? How did she challenge you or teach you to become a better version of yourself?
Mrs pushed me in ways that were often uncomfortable, but necessary She taught me that I had to stand up for myself and even more so for her! When I spoke on her behalf, she expected me to be firm, never accept “ no, ” and to keep going until I got an answer At the time, it felt overwhelming, but it forced me to find a strength that I didn’t know I had Over time, I became more confident and less afraid to communicate with her and others - Lynn Coleman
The biggest lesson I learned from Mrs von Liebig was how to see beauty in everything and everywhere On my first day when I met her, she told me, You will learn a lot here She was right Mrs von Liebig always encouraged us to look closely at the world around us and appreciate the small details that many people might miss She challenged me to slow down, observe more carefully, and think differently Because of her, I learned to be more patient, creative, and open-minded Her way of teaching helped me grow not only in my work but also as a person She showed me that learning is not just about improving skills but also about changing the way you see and appreciate the world – Natalie Bagaturia

Taking care of Mrs was not easy at first As they say this kind of work is not for everyone But honestly I grew to love her She was very real she spoke whatever was on her mind without hesitation That actually worked well for me because I appreciate honest people It is easier to connect and adjust when someone is genuine
Of course we had our share of misunderstandings especially when she was not in a good mood But those moments eventually strengthened our relationship and helped us become good friends She even gave me a few nicknames one of them was “the Laughing Boy ”
One moment I will never forget happened about three months before she passed away She apologized to me for everything she felt she had done I told her she did not need to apologize because I was there to serve and take care of her But deep inside, I was emotional and nearly cried That moment made our connection even deeper
She was always kind and happy whenever we were together I truly treasured those final days with her She would smile during feeding time, and sometimes we would just hold hands Those simple moments were my way of showing how much I cared for her
After years of working with Mrs , I realized my true passion is caring for the elderly It brings me genuine joy to serve them and to be part of their lives during their sunset years

THE RECIPE
Seared Scallops with a Sherry Cream Sauce
Recipe by Angela from The Weekday Kitchen
Makes 4 Servings
Ingredients:
1 pound dry scallops
1/4 cup dry sherry
1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
1 1/'2 teaspoon Better Than Bullion Lobster
Base
Optional: a handful of spinach
Directions:
1 Heat the skillet over medium-high heat until heated through.
2.Spray the pan with olive oil, then place the scallops in it. Cook for 2 minutes. Scallops should release easily. Turn over and cook 2 more minutes to sear the other side. Remove scallops to a warm plate.
3 Deglaze the pan with 1/4 cup sherry, add lobster base and cream (and optional spinach), and heat through.
4 Serve the sauce with the scallops. Delicious paired with a pasta or mashed potatoes.
