After my recent experience researching a historical character for a book, I must add to this project. If they have access, in 100 years, a great grandchild may be thrilled to read what we have to say. I went west to Michigan a year after SG; attended UM and settled (after a year in Philadelphia) in Ann Arbor. I worked for non-profits and in academia; public health and then behavioral research. I am most proud of my justice and peace work (US out of Central America in the ‘80s, and now Indivisible) and, early on, community based projects in Detroit. I brought an MPH and what I learned in the community to later research roles, reforming academic reward systems, review panels, & the mentoring culture. That was fun. I have written two books, and these days I’m an editor for hire. My biggest accomplishment was raising twin boys (Jordan and Warren, 3 doctorates!) and their amazing brother, Nate (an engineer living in Australia). All 3 scientists, all 3 rowers, I am so grateful they enjoy each other’s company and have balanced lives. I live sublimely with my 2nd husband, Miles, in Cornwall, VT. Lyla, my first grand daughter, came in February, and a grandson is due in July. What a lucky card I was dealt! I don’t have to worry that I will be deported, have my grant terminated, lose my college loan, or have my gender denied. I am proud Vermont has sued to protect our democracy 52 times!

For the past 45+ years I’ve been in the maritime industry, primarily tankers. I started as a ship agent out on the West Coast where I met my wife. She actually is from the Boston area so there was a bit of a baseball issue from day one with my being a New Yorker. We dated 10 years before finally getting married and having three kids. The oldest guy is an SG grad, married and expecting their first child this September. The younger guy is doing very well in cyber security. Our daughter lives in NYC working in advertising. The trick for the first 21 plus years is having the apple fall as far away from the tree as humanly possible. I still summer out in Point O’Woods, Fire Island, where I have a love-hate relationship with the island and the people. It’s definitely a magical place for my family and me. Where one metamorphosizes upon stepping off the boat, and I for one come very much into my own realm. I’ve been blessed with a healthy family, smart, motivated kids, and a wife who tolerates the phone ringing off the hook at all hours of the night with work-related calls. I try to get out to Jackson, Wyoming, each winter to ski. I’ve done Corbet’s Couloir a few times and I’m unsure how many more times I’ll be able to jump in without really hurting myself. That’s a fraction of what has transpired over the past half century.

It’s been a wild and unpredictable 50 years! We’ve moved from Maine to Rhode Island to Nebraska to New York, Pennsylvania, Colorado, and back to Maine. I’ve had a great career in mental health and worked with amazing people. Rick and I have enjoyed many outdoor adventures: mountain hiking, sea kayaking, canyon rafting, cycling, skiing, trekking in Iceland and Italy, camping and traveling the world. Our oldest daughter, Kira, is a music festival producer and has taken us to some spectacular live performances. Our youngest daughter, Mericka, recently earned her Ph.D. in Biomedicine Sciences, had a baby, a wedding in Brazil, got a job in New York City and bought a house in White Plains. It’s been a busy two years! Now that I am working part time I’ve returned to pursuing interests I had as a teenager at SG. I am painting, doing ceramics, dancing, laughing, getting into trouble, traveling, and enjoying being the best MaMoon to our wild Augusto.

I picked up a Masters in Spiritual Psychology from University of Santa Monica in 1998. The program was outstanding and significantly transformed my life. After graduating from Williams College, I went to work in I.T. Consulting. I bounced around leading I.T. projects in various industries before discovering a passion for Life Sciences. I started out in Hartford, CT, then relocated to the Boston area in 1983, and ten years ago settled in Durham, NC. I married Linda Stinson in 1989 and raised two daughters. Sarah works for a P.R. agency and lives with her husband, Steven, outside Boston, while Rachel and her husband, Gavin, live in Albuquerque, where she works as a mental health counselor. No grandchildren yet! Earlier this year, I stopped collecting a regular paycheck – we all know what that means—but for some reason I can’t let the “R” word cross my lips. These days you’re likely to find me with a camera slung around my neck, just like 50 years ago. My photography interests are broad, but mostly I enjoy capturing the excitement of things that go fast: cars, boats, dogs, horses, etc. As Linda and I transition now to our next chapter, we look forward to exploring the North Carolina mountains and the seacoast.

Hobbies and Interests: Bart and I and our kids share a love of the outdoors and spend as much time together sailing, skiing, hiking, and biking as we can. I have practiced yoga for decades now and that continues to be an important part of my life, along with reading and spending time with extended family and friends. I sit on three corporate boards after a long career in the renewable power industry. It’s been a wild last two years, but my companies and I are committed to sustainability in power generation. Volunteer Activities: I mentor several young people in their careers in alternative energy field. I am active in the industry and continue to be excited about the prospects for a viable and sustainable energy strategy in the US.
I have had a full last 50 years! My experience on Geronimo gave me the confidence to pursue what really interested and mattered to me. After college I worked for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization for a couple of years in Europe before returning to the US and working as a banker for small companies. I developed a passion for entrepreneurial companies that led me to graduate school and to joining a start-up in clean power generation and the rest is history. More importantly, I met my husband, Bart, on a blind date, and we had four kids, and a whirlwind many years raising them and enjoying most of it!! At this chapter in our lives, we are both retired. I remain very active in my corporate boards while Bart continues his work volunteering for a number of different organizations. One of our sons is married, and we are excited to welcome more Littlefields to the fold whenever that happens!

As with many of us, the past 50 years has been quite a journey! From our early beginnings, we have each been challenged and gifted in many ways, both through our S.G. years and throughout our life path. While some of the challenges we encountered could be forseen, others were unpredictable and have forced us to adapt and grow through the years. As we’ve each found our own journey, I’ve found my own path. About 10 years ago, I divorced from a long term marriage in which we welcomed our daughter Elizabeth into the world. I recently married Jan, the woman of my dreams, just last year at St. George’s. We share a house in Wellesley (west of Boston) with our 2 furry felines. I’ve built a career in strategic sourcing and supply chain in the tech industry, which has taken me to many far reaches of the world. I’ve really enjoyed reconnecting with all our former classmates at our reunions, and occasionally through the years, and look to stay in touch with each of you over the coming years!

I spent the ’80’s in the luxury yacht charter world; riding and running boats in the Caribbean, Mediterranean, and Aegean, and operated an international charter agency in Newport for a decade. Published a foreign trade newsletter out of my garage for a couple of years, then decided to take a break and became a seasonal flats fishing guide in Key West for a decade in the 90’s and early 2000’s, learning skills and culture from the “Conch” locals. Met my partner Susan (a nurse) while she was helping me care for my aging parents. She now has 8 grandchildren under age 5,which keep us both busy; I’m honored to be their “U.C.” (Uncle Chad). Not to mention our current dog, Jazz, a “purebred Mississippi hound dog mutt” (via the excellent Potter League shelter in Newport) who’s a very spoiled girl. As the years unroll I’m happily reminded every time I drive past the Hilltop (I still live in Middletown part of the year) of the good fortune that we all had to spend our early years at SG, and the excellent preparation that an education there gave us for our later lives, wherever those may have taken us... I was a dorm head in three different dorms. I raised my three children in Groton as a single parent. My 2 daughters attended Groton, and my son attended Lawrence Academy (also in Groton). First off, I apologize for not making our reunion and I very much hope to be back and to see so many great people I met when at St George’s. I have been back many times and a few years ago showed the campus and area to my partner Stacey who was so impressed with everything I showed her. So many good memories - leaving my home in Charlottesville VA to go to St George’s. What a positive change for me. My roommates Charlie Gledhill and Mark Irish. Tony Zane as Headmaster - he was great friends with my Mom and Dad - Ramsey and Bobbie Martin. Dan Hollins as advisor and teacher and coach. Skip Howard as AD and Hockey Coach - he actually “hired” me to be a Varsity Hockey Manager for all of my 3 years there - I learned so much hockey and I still follow college and pro hockey now. Loved the beach, the chapel, the fields, the dining hall, being a Senior Prefect. Really enjoyed the daily school meetings for all of us that Tony Zane ran. So glad the school went coed - I think just a few years after our year. Loved SG! It bums me out that I did not stay in touch with so many SG friends - I have stayed in touch with Bob Whittemore and to several others to some degree. [Yes, SOLA still prospers. In Rwanda. My young Afghan boss had the foresight to charter a plane for all of our girls — and their families and teachers — before the U.S. withdrawal.] After years of crusading through D.C. with international colleagues, cavorting across Europe with girlfriends, motorcycling cross-country, and careening around South Africa with my son, my Catahoula, Ciqa, and I hang in a sunny, floriferous, art-filled, historic Greek revival cottage in Chatham, Cape Cod. We see our beloved a few days each month either here — depending on the surf — or south coast of R.I., where Ciqa stays while I’m away. That is to say, with my 26-year-old son, Theo Smith. A year-round surfer, disc golfer, camper and hiker, as well as a snowboarder and spear-fisher, he works as a climate/clean energy policy analyst at R.I.’s public utilities commission. And, I just started teaching sustainable energy economics and policy at U.R.I. I spend 1-2 weeks most months traipsing around in pursuit of family and friends and my new beau (1st ever headover-heels; college class/dorm/jockmate). And... I’ve become social — at last — so do track us down!

Since graduating from St. Lawrence University—where I met my wife of 43 years—our family has grown in many ways. We have two daughters who also married SLU graduates, and we are fortunate enough to have five wonderful grandchildren. I retired two years ago after a 40-year career as an investment banker, though I often find myself wishing I had retired even sooner! These days, we stay very busy traveling to many destinations that are on our bucket list. When I am not traveling, I spend my time with the grandkids, playing golf and paddle tennis, and I also stay active by managing a small foundation. I feel truly blessed to be able to lead the life I have. I look forward to seeing those of you who can make our 50th.

I spent the better part of the next decade working in advertising in NYC, where I met my now husband, Joe Lovering (we’re looking forward to celebrating our 40th anniversary later this year). Soon after getting married, we started our family, raising our three wonderful kids (Carola, Charlie and Ellie) in Bedford, NY. In 2008, after 15 years as a stay-athome mom, I returned to the workforce full-time as an admissions officer at an area private school. In 2012, I took on a new role as president of Educator’s Ally, an independent school recruiting firm (we work with schools throughout the U.S., including SG!), where I am today. My company is fully remote, so Joe and I are back and forth between Westchester and our home in southwestern Vermont all the time, a definite plus! We have four beloved grandchildren, ages 6 months to almost 6, and are thoroughly enjoying this new phase of life - it lives up to the hype! Here’s an outdated picture of our family, minus the two latest grandchildren. Not the greatest shot but we did our best!

Hello SG ’76! Sorry to miss this reunion - still feeling the vibe from the 40th, which was truly memorable in so many ways, and hoping to make it to anything Rian sets up for us. Me in a nutshell: After college, I acted in all mediums in New York and LA for over a decade, occasionally lucky enough to work with my best husband (and best friend of 45 years) who is known to some - David Morse. After three children and an abrupt move to Philly following the destruction of our Sherman Oaks home in the ’94 earthquake, I began editing books, eventually writing two of my own, both memoirs. About ten years ago, I threw myself into duplicate bridge and could not stop. My articles are sometimes seen in the national bridge magazine, and after some coaxing by that community, there’s a TV pilot making the rounds. This year has been busy between bridge travel, David’s various locations, too many trips to Portugal finding and furnishing a holiday home, and No Kings protests (all of ‘em, most recently joining a crew of rowdy Porto expats). Here we are doing what we love best - walking a beach.

Aloha! 50 years is a long time... and it feels like it when looking back to when we were together. I have so many great memories and feel blessed that S.G. was part of my life and helped me in so many ways. I want to thank my friends and all those who supported me. The school and everyone there shaped our lives and helped us build the visions that became our futures. What I find hard to believe is that I have now lived in Hawaii for over 20 years. I don’t come to the mainland often and it’s been decades since I’ve been in the New England area. With several businesses and relationships behind me, I’m still snorkeling, golfing, hiking, & biking - and not taking any meds! Right before our daughter, Emma, was born in 1994, we moved to Columbia, SC to be closer to Anne’s parents, who were living in Mt. Pleasant, SC. We eventually moved to Mt. Pleasant, SC in 2006, where we currently reside. I am still working full time as a healthcare consultant with a CPA firm. Both our children, Emma (age 31) and son, Alex (age 30) also live in the Charleston area. Emma is married while Alex is still single. No grandchildren yet! We all love Charleston!

Hobbies and Interests: Kitchening (baking, cooking, experimenting), cycling, reading, creative writing, forest walking, a bit of gardening, habitual blood donor, assorted other joys. Volunteer Activities: I volunteer in a number of capacities at our local Presbyterian church (also work there for pay parttime). I serve on a community store Board, also do various trailwork, highway and community clean-ups, etc.
Procrastinator of the highest order! Someone recently said the average American has 12 different jobs in their working life. Yeah, I blew past that a while ago - Just since SG: corporate loan officer, reporter, DJ (radio), photographer, Communications Director, potter, home-school teacher, shop proprietor, executor, guardian, administrator, (I’m still working, so may yet add a few) and my favorites: husband and parent. Life has given us plenty to celebrate and take pride in, and some, alas, to grieve. What would life be without a few scars to show for it? I appreciate every day.

I graduated from the University of Vermont and spent 3 months in Kenya East Africa with National Outdoor Leadership School, which was incredible. After that, I had hoped to work for UNESCO, but got diverted from NYC west and ended up teaching skiing in Aspen, CO. Following that, I worked at The Aspen Sports Medicine Institute with some incredible people. It was an exciting time, where cutting edge technology was being tested for health, performance, and physical therapy. I met my husband there and we moved to Telluride, CO, where we raised 2 amazing girls. We moved to the East coast in 2006, and it was wonderful to be near my family and reunite with fellow SG pals Scott Eliot, Kim (Brady) & Nick Cutler. I moved to Santa Barbara in 2021 for 3 years and then ended up back in Aspen where I am currently living, and enjoying close proximity to my girls, son-in-laws, and grandchildren, who are the greatest joy in my life! I have loved keeping in touch with classmates, and had the trip of a lifetime with Edie (Woodland) Kilchenstein, down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. I was so sorry to miss our 50th (granddaughter was just born) and would have loved to have seen everyone! Come visit! You are all welcome.

After one course in computers in college, I decided I would have nothing to do with the infernal machines. Somehow, I ended up with a career in computers anyway. I worked for insurance companies for many years, and then decided to strike out on my own and became a self-employed consultant. I have lived in Connecticut most of the time since St. George’s. I do enjoy travel quite a bit, and have been to Australia, Africa, The Galapagos Islands, and many trips to Europe. I truly enjoy meeting and getting to know people from other parts of the world and learning about their culture. I thank St. George’s for instilling in me a lifelong love of learning. While never exhibiting a great facility for learning while at school, I have, somehow, come to truly enjoy learning new things as time has marched on, from guitar, ukulele and Irish whistle playing (badly), sailing (the art of going slowly nowhere), drawing and water coloring (also badly) to reading about history, oceanography, paleontology, astrophysics, linguistics, and so many other topics, most of which have faded from memory. I am continually learning French (a lifelong endeavor). I do still like photography and continue to take way too many photos. It is a bit humbling to write a narrative of one’s previous 50 years, but I can say I’ve enjoyed them. I hope to continue to meet new and interesting people, learn new skills, and keep my mind and body active while enjoying each day.

Alumni Chapel Service Sunday, May 17, 2026 The following was an address given by Catherine Lambert during the St. George’s School Alumni Chapel Service of Alumni Weekend. Good morning, friends, faculty, students, and beloved members of the St. George’s School community. My name is Catherine Lambert, and I am a proud member of the Class of 1976.

It is a profound honor to stand here today, fifty years after the graduation of a remarkable class—a class that helped shape the future of this school in ways that could not have been fully understood at the time.
Today, we honor the men and women of the Class of 1976, whose courage, grace, and quiet determination opened doors not only for themselves, but for generations who followed. This moment is not about any one individual alone. It is about an entire class—a community of pioneers, young women and men who stepped into unfamiliar territory together and chose friendship over division, curiosity over fear, and fellowship over uncertainty. They did not simply attend school together; they built something together. In a time of transition, they carried a rare spirit—a spirit of generosity, humor, resilience, and camaraderie. They learned together on this hill overlooking the sea. They worshipped in this chapel. They competed, studied, laughed, questioned, stumbled, and grew together. In doing so, they became living proof that change, rooted in respect and shared purpose, can strengthen a community rather than divide it. Fifty years later, what endures most is not merely the historical milestone. It is the character of the people who lived it. Their example reminds us that pioneering is not always loud. Sometimes it is steady. Sometimes it is kind. Sometimes it is simply showing up, day after day, with openness of heart. Perhaps that is why the words of Scripture speak so beautifully to this occasion: “Be still, and know that I am God.” —Psalm 46:10 In moments of uncertainty, stillness asks us to trust. In moments of transition, stillness reminds us who we are. And in moments of gratitude such as this one, stillness allows us to recognize grace clearly. 38

There has always been a special grace on this hill—a grace found in friendship, a grace found in learning, a grace found in courage, and a grace found in the enduring bonds between classmates who became lifelong companions on life’s journey. Today, we give thanks for that grace. We give thanks for the faculty and families who guided these students, particularly Headmaster Anthony “Tony” Zane and Mrs. Eustis Zane, whose leadership, vision, and dedication helped create an environment where new paths could be opened and new possibilities embraced. We give thanks for every member of that pioneering class whose spirit helped shape the school we know today. And we remember with love and gratitude our classmates who have gone before us: Mark Brewington, Anita Clifford, Chris Coffin, Lisa Sharon, Margaret Squibb, John Zanini, and Robert Thayer. Their presence remains a cherished part of the story of the Class of 1976, and their memory continues to live within this community. We also give thanks for all our fellow graduates whose legacy lives not only in anniversaries and historical milestones, but in the daily life of this school—in its values, traditions, and enduring spirit. May we honor their example by continuing to lead with humility, courage, and compassion. May we never lose the spirit of camaraderie that defined the Class of 1976. And may we always remember, especially in a restless world, to be still long enough to recognize the grace of God among us. I invite you now to place your hand upon your heart, give thanks to God, remember those who came before us, and celebrate the bonds that unite us still.
