A warm welcome to everyone joining us at the Orange Llama Stadium this afternoon, especially our visitors from Trefelin. It’s great to see familiar faces returning and new ones coming along to support local football. We hope all connected with Trefelin enjoy their visit today and that the game reflects the competitive spirit and respect that defines our league.
It has been a remarkable period for everyone involved with Cardiff Draconians. Making history by reaching the third round of the FAW Cup is an achievement that means a great deal to the club. It’s a reward for the hard work, belief, and progress that has been building over the past few seasons. The players have shown real commitment, and the support from our fans continues to make a massive difference. There’s a real sense that we’re growing together on and off the pitch.
On a personal note, being named JD Cymru South Manager of the Month for two consecutive months is something I’m incredibly proud of. But, as I’ve said before, these awards belong to the group rather than any individual. The players, my coaching staff, and everyone behind the scenes have all played their part. Their work rate, attitude, and togetherness are what make this club such a special place to manage.
Our last outing against Treowen said everything about the character in this squad. Coming back from 2-0 down to win 4-3 showed not only our attacking quality but also our determination and resilience. Games like that build belief and prove that this team has a never-say-die attitude. It’s that spirit that we’ll need again today against a talented Trefelin side.
To our supporters, thank you once again for your energy and backing. Whether it’s home or away, your presence means a lot to the players. Let Orange Llama Stadium a place where our opponents always know they’re in for a tough afternoon.
Enjoy the match and hopefully we memories to celebrate together by the final whistle.
Diolch yn fawr, Nana Baah

Cardiff Draconians 4-3 Treowen Stars

Orange Llama Stadium – 8th November 2025 – Attendance: 255
Match report by Paul Yanez
The teams lined up for an impeccable minutes silence for Remembrance weekend. The game was a thrilling encounter that lived up to its high scoring expectations, spectators were treated to a seven goal spectacle as Cardiff Draconians edged out Treowen Stars
The game began with Treowen Stars racing into a two
Green and Corey Jenkins, capitalizing on a defensive slip and some poor defending from the

Despite trailing 2–0, the Dracs remained composed and created numerous chances, confident in their ability to mount a comeback. Marinho Manga sparked the revival with a well-taken goal just before halftime, reducing the deficit to 2–1 at the break.
The second half saw a much-improved Dracs side. Dan Bowen leveled the score in the 54th minute, and just five minutes later, captain Luke Bridgeman headed home to give the Dracs a 3–2 lead. However, Treowen were not finished; Lewis Green struck again with a long-range effort to make it 3-3.
The decisive moment came moments later when Harry Treharne netted the Dracs’ fourth and final goal, securing a memorable victory and keeping the team in sixth place in the Cymru South.

The match was played in great spirits, with mutual respect between both sides. Ben Murphy, manager of Treowen Stars, was impressed by the progress at Lydstep Park, visiting for the first time since 2006. Ultimately, it was a value-for-money contest for the fans, with the Dracs coming out on top in a true seven-goal thriller.

Our good friend, sponsor and avid supporter David Collins from Welsh Football magazine shares his JD Welsh Cup experience so far for this season with us.
The Welsh Cup has always been one of my favourite competitions and the draws are eagerly awaited. In the early rounds, I’m generally looking to visit an unfamiliar club or ground, and in this year’s first qualifying round I saw two games:
A Friday night Rhondda derby between Treorchy BGC and Ton Pentre meant a revisit to Cae Mawr, a ground much changed since I saw a game there over 30 years ago. Treorchy pulled off a shock result too, defeating their more famous neighbours 3-2.
The following afternoon I watched another first qualifying round game, this time at the Cadle Mill ground in an estate to the north of Swansea, where local league side Blaen-y-Maes were hosting Cwmamman United (now of the West Wales Premier League). Cwmamman proved too strong for the Swansea League side and comfortably won 4-1.

I also managed to see two second qualifying round ties: first, another Friday night match as Rogerstone met Penrhiwceiber Rangers at their very pleasant ground high above Pye Corner in Newport. Ardal League Penrhiwceiber were made to sweat before getting two late goals to win through to the first round proper.

Again, I was able to find a tie on a new ground on the Saturday, with Neath League club Glynneath Town using the local rugby ground for their Welsh Cup fixtures this season (a ground notable for the fact that Max Boyce lives right next door!). The opposition was Margam, from Port Talbot and the sides were evenly matched, Glynneath just holding on to win 2-1. They’ve been the surprise team in this year’s competition, and today host Trearddur Bay from Anglesey in Round 2.
I saw two Round 1 games on consecutive Saturdays – Penydarren’s 3G pitch being a safe fall-back option on a wet afternoon – they were no match for impressive Caerau Ely, who won 5-0. Then a week later I was able to see what AFC Llwydcoed have done to redevelop their ground, when they met Lliswerry in a rescheduled tie. The home side prevailed 3-1 in this all-Ardal League game.

And so to Round 2, when the tie that appealed to me was the Dracs away at Dinas Powys, a chance to revisit the Murch Field for the first time in a number of years. It was one of the games chosen for the S4C cameras, in case there was an upset – but that was never likely after Sam Roberts’ first half hat-trick.
So, seven Welsh Cup games so far and it’s only November. I have to miss Round 3 but I’ll be watching the Round 4 draw avidly next week….

More plaudits and awards for the month of October for the Dracs. Nana once again received the JD Cymrus South manager of the month award with an undefeated month with wins over Cwmbran & Trethomas and drawing against Ynyshir, conceding just one league goal while keeping two clean sheets.

Harry ’safe hands received the save of the month award from Sgorio voters with a sublime save at the JD FAW Welsh Cup game against Dinas Powys.
