Please accept this letter as the official report on the humanitarian dental work conducted in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in partnership with NorWest Co-op Community Health for the 2025 outreach initiative Our mission remained consistent: to provide essential dental care to low-income and underserved individuals in North Winnipeg, including recent newcomers who continue to face significant barriers in accessing oral healthcare.
This year marked the fourth consecutive year of our collaborative volunteer program While attendance at the 2025 screening day was lower than in previous years likely due to increased CDCP coverage we were still able to deliver meaningful care and maintain strong engagement from partner clinics and volunteers. A total of 103 clients were screened prior to treatment on October 18, 2025
NorWest provided logistical support, including patient charts, transportation coordination, and assistance with accessing CDCP, EIA, NIHB, and other dental benefits

We have greatly valued the opportunity to provide care to newcomers to Canada, many of whom have arrived from Ukraine With the support of translators, we have been able to offer a warm welcome and effectively address their dental needs
This project continues to play a key role in public education Service Canada provided onsite support by informing patients and our newcomers in Canada about the CDCP, eligibility criteria, and the online application process I am also pleased to note the ongoing volunteerism from D3 and D4 dental students, as well as dental hygiene students, who recognize the importance of giving back to the Winnipeg community The combined efforts of volunteer clinicians, students, translators, and NorWest staff made this year ’ s operations impactful and meaningful
