To deploy our strategy, we are working with leading organizations, partners, and individuals. In 2019, we joined the United Nations Global Compact. Also, we engaged with platforms at the World Economic Forum to drive collaborative steps for growth and development. In addition, we created new initiatives with our existing global partners: Blue Marine Foundation, Logistics Emergency Team, and IMPACT2030.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity. Today, the Goals amount to 17 and encompass 169 targets.

DP World's "Our World, Our Future" strategy is divided into two components, which are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The first, "Our World" focuses on our efforts today to operate as a responsible company in seven key areas. It is delivered through ambitious commitments, to be met by 2030. The second, "Our Future" looks at the legacy we will leave in our industry and society. It focuses on three areas where we can make a positive difference for future generations: Education, Women's Empowerment and Oceans. We have set out a series of commitments to be met by 2030.

The UN Global Compact is the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative; it is supported by the United Nations and embraces the principles and values of the organization. As such, it is uniquely positioned to foster this collaboration aiming to achieve and scale up solutions that address global challenges.

By late 2019, we became a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact and its ten principles. Fulfilling this additional commitment means ensuring that our strategies and operational areas are aligned with the UNGC principles regarding Human Rights, Labor, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

SafeStart is one of the training programs we have rolled-out for all our employees the moment they join the company. It is based on providing employees with techniques that they can apply at work and at home to avoid accidents and injuries due to unintentional errors caused by these 4 states: Haste, Frustration, Fatigue and Complacency.

INDUSTRIAL SAFETY IS ONE OF THE MOST CRITICAL PILLARS IN OUR COMPANY.

THUS, WE HAVE DEPLOYED THE SAFESTART PROGRAM, WHICH IS SUPPORTING THE ORGANIZATION'S SAFETY OBJECTIVES. THROUGH THIS PROGRAM, EMPLOYEES LEARN TECHNIQUES AND TOOLS THAT ENABLE THEM TO REDUCE THE RISKS AND PROBABILITIES OF HAVING AN ACCIDENT.

To extend this safety culture to the Boca Chica community, at DP World Caucedo we offered a SafeStart workshop to young members of the "Caminante" Educational Project, who developed skills to prevent accidents, maintain safety during the holidays, and avoid traffic accidents from the perspective of drivers and pedestrians.

DP WORLD CAUCEDO

For the 2020-2021 period, approximately 1,206 employees have completed this training, hence, enabling us to increase our employees' commitment with their personal safety, their coworkers, and their families.

The roll-out of SafeStart began with Module 1, which is focused on introducing state and error risk patterns, as well as an overview of Critical Error Reduction Techniques or CERT techniques. We are currently developing Module 2, and by 2023 we aim to complete Modules 3, 4 and 5, and then extend this program to the families of our company's workers.

PERLA PÉREZ HSE analyst

TADASHI RODRÍGUEZ HSE Coordinator - SafeStart Trainer

“This training is excellent because it guides front-line management to encourage employees to always be aware of the risks in their environment, and to keep their focus on whatever activity they are doing, inside and outside the company. The SafeStart program has a strong practical component, including the telling of "SafeStart Stories" of personal and work experiences that can serve as a learning experience for others. It is worth mentioning that between August and November 2021, the "Take Time, Take Control" campaign was launched, which had a very positive influence on people. Through this initiative, the staff had the opportunity to reflect on the importance of investing time in their health, in their family, and in carrying out tasks by taking the time to think them over before performing them and to foresee any adverse situations that could lead to accidents in any environment”.

SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2020-2021 37

“In my experience in training employees, they have leveraged the course. They always leave with the takeaway message that they need to keep their eyes on the task. As a trainer, I try to get them to absorb as much of the content of the program as possible”.

VIS-À-VIS

Early into our efforts to comprehensively deploy the sustainability strategy, prioritizing aspects of community relations, we realized that the company's relationship with community groups and their leaders was not perceived positively, but rather considered distant and cumbersome, given that direct ties had not been established, and that the activities or contributions made by the organization were coordinated by an external liaison. Therefore, it was pivotal for us- as our management dawned- to identify the key social issues of the area and of the community directly. To achieve this goal, we conducted a study of social and economic conditions, focusing on the areas of the municipality WITH THE COMMUNITY LEADERS

In addition, we held face-to-face meetings with several community leaders, presenting the objectives of our strategy and what our new management model would consist of. We listened to their concerns and were able to capture their views on the problems they faced as a community. This undoubtedly allowed us to work more closely and gave us a better vision when making decisions to achieve an investment that would have a positive impact on the area.

BACKGROUND

In this sense, the DP World Caucedo's relationship with the town of Boca Chica has improved considerably and has made important contributions that have helped in the development of social policies in the municipality. One of these contributions, and which has helped the community positively, is the electrical wiring of the Wilfredo Echavarría Stadium.

"Many years ago, alongside the community, I wanted to establish a more direct and closer relationship with DP World Caucedo. In 2020, we were able to achieve this thanks to the openness of the current Board of Directors, with whom we now have a direct relationship, sans the need for middlemen.

"The sustainability management deployed by DP World Caucedo in the municipality of Boca Chica was something that I never envisioned and that has surprised me. This management is not only making contributions in terms of education, health, and sports, but is conducting surveys, meeting with community leaders to identify the needs of the community and contributing to its advancement".

The Carbon Neutral or Zero Net Emissions Certification is part of our corporation’s environmental strategy and aims to establish a general plan that encompasses all divisions and achieve a global emissions reduction of 28% by 2030, aiming to become a “Zero Net Emissions” operation by 2040. We are therefore developing several initiatives that have allowed us to produce much cleaner and more sustainable energy, resulting in the reduction of 5,770,061 tons of CO2, equal to the conservation of 7,584 trees.

• ISO 14,001: 2015 Certification In 2014, our organization obtained the ISO 14001: 2015 Certification, making us the first terminal in the Dominican Republic to obtain an internationally recognized environmental certification; this shows our commitment to high standards of environmental management. Since then, we have been recertified twice, which positions us as a company with a solid management system.

As a follow-up to the development of DP World Caucedo’s Environmental Management System, several projects have been rolled-out: • Zero Net Emissions

PROJECTS

• Technical: by optimizing the use of the equipment, we reduce the amount of maintenance and disposal of technical labor applicable to other tasks.

• Cost-Effective: By using lesser fuel, we can reduce all production-related costs.

The deployed initiatives are:

4. Enable all RTG Units of the remote on/off system from the operator’s cab.

SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2020-2021 59

2. Platforms to promote paperless operations. We created the CAU VESSEL VISIT APPLICATION, which digitalized the registration process of vessels received at the terminal. Through this application, developed in-house by our employees, we have removed the use of more than 1 ton of reams of paper per year.

1. We currently have RTG and gantry crane simulators and augmented reality (AVR) simulators for training crane operators and heavy vehicle drivers, as well as electric vehicle and solar panel chargers.

3. Optimization of idling time -Minimum time of revolutions per minute-. It consisted of a simple way to reduce idle time and leverage the workday through the good use of resources, considering the following criteria:

• Social: by being more efficient, spending and emitting less, increases people’s quality of life. The project consists of developing three pillars to control, monitor, and equip the team’s operations.

5. Develop a monitoring system that identifies the number of resources assigned to the RTG to control their operational output.

7. Training, talks and toolboxes to raise awareness among employees and partners, about the importance of proper waste management. 164 employees have been trained to date.

• Environmental: By reducing consumption demand, pressure on natural resources is relieved, resulting in less impact on rivers and soils. At a global level, these actions reduce CO2 emissions and other greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming.

6. Create a follow-up system that measures the effectiveness of the process. The assessment process began in March 2019 due to the results obtained through an internal audit conducted by the Process Area where the high production of CO2 was evident, since that event, an analysis process was kicked-off to identify the reasons for the non-compliance of the CO2 indicator.

- Conduct campaigns to promote the use of reusable bottles and explain the impact of singleuse plastics.

Continuing with the "Going Zero in Plastic" initiative that resulted in a 72% reduction of single-use plastics in the 2017-2019 timeframe, we have decided to continue to achieve ZERO use of single-use plastics in our operations. Actions such as those described below, bring us even closer to reaching the goal.

- Within the campaigns or activities, provide reusable bottles/reusable items as souvenirs to our employees.

- Create a policy for suppliers specifying the NO use of single-use plastics and encouraging the incorporation of "eco-friendly" containers.

The following actions have been carried out in pursuit of this interest:

DP WORLD CAUCEDO62

At DP World Caucedo, we care for biodiversity.

• Bee Rescue: considering the importance of bees for our ecosystems, we partnered with the farmers' group "Mother Bee" to rescue the bees that are drawn to our facilities.

The agreement consists of rescuing and safely relocating these species into a refuge apiary; a space where they will be provided with resources and technical management to ensure their growth.

In 2021, 2 bee rescue operations were carried out.

• Coastal cleanup days.

• Reforestation days.

BIODIVERSITY

• Ecological restoration of coral reefs or restoration of coastal and marine ecosystems by planting corals.

• Digitalization of operations, customer service and internal processes, thus reducing paper consumption, the depletion of natural resources avoiding the generation of waste.

SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2020-2021 63

As a result of the training and operational certifications using the simulator and other techniques, our management achieved its goal of maintaining qualified personnel in the operations area, such as Truck Drivers, Crane Operators, Reach Stacker Operators, RTG Operators, Vessel Supervisor, Yard Supervisor, and Technical Supervisor, all of whom were promoted. We also achieved 80% compliance with our training plan on the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact for successors and/or critical positions identified in terms of soft skills and technical competencies.

• Senior Women LEAD: Initiative in which we support our female directors and managers for 8 months to increase their impact and contribution in their future professional roles and aspirations.

• Lead @DP World Foundation: Through this program we provide our frontline supervisors with the essential mindset, skills and techniques needed to be effective leaders. Through this initiative, employees learn to explore their strengths and areas of development as leaders, interact with and learn from various supervisors within our business, and apply what they have learned through hands-on assignments.

• Lead @DP World Intermediate: A program aimed at our mid-level managers and intended to increase their leadership skills and confidence.

In addition, we have other trainings that have allowed us to keep more than 200 employees evolving constantly on topics such as anti-bribery, terminal operations, global fraud awareness, information security awareness, Lean, modern-day slavery, and

• DP World SafeLeader: Here, we seek to continuously improve employee performance and maintain a zero-harm culture.

FUTUREOUR

We have set up two nursing rooms in our facilities: one for the Operations area, and another one for our offices in Santo Domingo. Each room features the necessary equipment for mothers to nurse in a comfortable and safe way, allowing them to continue breastfeeding once their maternity leave is over.

In 2020 we began the certification process of the "Igualando RD certification", alongside the Ministry of Women and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), which aims to promote the economic and social autonomy of women in business, as well as to establish a management model to achieve gender equality in the Dominican Republic. Our company is the first organization in the country's logistics and port sector to join this initiative. As part of this certification process, we have developed a series of organizational best practices in equal opportunities for our personnel. We are creating a culture of respect for our other stakeholders: customers, suppliers, and the neighboring community. These actions range from eliminating cultural and organizational barriers; promoting an organizational culture that integrates the value of gender equality and the rights of employees; to developing an inclusive human resources management.

Among the activities rolled-out as part of this certification process are several virtual education sessions on important topics such as: Preventive Measures for Responsible Sexual and Reproductive Health to promote the health and self-care of our workforce; Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) in the Dominican Republic: their main causes, symptoms, clinical presentation, treatment, and reproductive responsibility.

DP WORLD CAUCEDO we have been working alongside FUNDACIÓN VERDE PROFUNDO on coral maintenance and restoration Since 2018 pounds of trash removed in Coastal Cleanup Days 3,402 TO SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE THE IMPACT OF OUR OPERATIONS ON THE SEA AND COASTS, WE DEPLOY VARIOUS ACTIONS SUCH AS WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT AND REGULAR MONITORING OF OUR COASTAL WATERS. WE HAVE A TREATMENT PLANT THAT STABILIZES AND DOSES BIODEGRADABLE CHEMICALS FOR WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT. THIS ACTION ENSURES THAT THE WASTEWATER IS AT THE STANDARD ALLOWED BY REGULATIONS BEFORE BEING DISCHARGED INTO THE SEA. Coastal water quality studies are conducted every six months and sent to the Ministry of the Environment. Water samples are analyzed following the specifications and analysis requirements established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the guidelines of the "Standard Water Examination Method". To support preserving the oceans' biodiversity, we have conducted environmental workshops with our employees. During these workshops, our employees installed four coral domes and kept 12 that make up the coastal micro-sanctuary under the guidance and protection of the Fundación Verde Profundo in Boca Chica beach. In addition, in partnership with this entity, we continuously organize coastal cleanup activities that impact the island of La Matica. In 2021, we managed to remove 3,042 pounds of garbage from La Matica and Los Pinos islands. WATER
