Honor Scholar Osaka, Japan

H O N O R S C H O L AR S DePauw Honor Scholars pursue a range of interests through a rich and varied liberal arts education. This selective program offers breadth of experience through interdisciplinary, discussion-based seminars that span all fours years of your time at DePauw. Throughout your Honor Scholar coursework, you will engage actively with other students and professors, tackling some of the most provocative and challenging issues facing our society. As a senior, you’ll complete your Honor Scholar study with a capstone thesis – making a claim about how you see the world and exactly why it matters. Honor Scholars have written on everything from Batman to the barriers women face in becoming president. Just imagine the insights you will bring to the conversation.

EN V IRONME N TA L F E L LOWS Environmental Fellows are empowered by some of the world’s leading minds with the knowledge, practice and leadership skills necessary to shift the global conversation about food waste, pollution, global warming and more.

As an Environmental Fellow, you will participate in a firstyear seminar and senior seminar reserved exclusively for your fellowship cohort. In addition, you will embark on a semester or summer practicum through one of a variety of environmentally-focused opportunities: on-campus research, study abroad, civic projects or an internship with a nonprofit, corporation or government agency. Prepare to lead conservation on boards and sustainability initiatives across campus–implementing real and lasting change prior to graduating.

The Management Fellows Program cultivates your skills in business leadership, providing the foundation and strength of experience to succeed in a variety of managerial contexts. As a Management Fellow, you will gain valuable skills with courses in finance and accounting and complete a full-time, semester-long paid internship in some of the world’s top public, private and nonprofit enterprises.

S CIEN CE R ES EARC H FELLOWS

Media Fellows have the chance to help craft the evolving world of American news and entertainment and build a network of colleagues through an internship with “The Today Show,” “The Ellen Degeneres Show” or even the White House. As a Media Fellow, you will learn the role of reporting, fact-checking, satire and wit in the world of broadcast – responsibly transforming our view of the world. Learn both the process and analysis of effective and creative communication, and engage in a robust speaker series where you’ll come face-to-face with premier media and government professionals. Media Fellows become effective operators of different forms of media and apply their skill set to a wide range of careers in communications.

What if heart tissue had the capacity to regenerate? What if you worked on the research team that discovered this is possible?

The Science Research Fellows Program draws select students into thrilling scientific research with far-reaching implications for the real world. As a Science Research Fellow, you will plunge the depths of scientific inquiry and practice, learning advanced research methods and developing the technical and communication skills to present your findings. In addition, you will work with industry professionals in a paid 10-week summer research or internship experience, and bring to life your future interests with a senior capstone seminar. Science Research Fellows approach graduation with the advanced skills and résumé to earn top positions in post-graduate study and begin a wide variety of careers in science.

Honor Scholar students gain academic breadth, while Fellows dive deep into a specified field. Where your research takes you – that’s for you to decide.
