Positive Parenting Parenting- need of an hour

On October 6, 2018 DPS arranged the first ever Interactive Session between Counselor’s and Parents of L.K.G. Keeping in view the changing demands of Modern Parenting our Counselor faculty conducted this session to discus discusss the challenges of Modern Parenting and shared certain strategies to overcome the same. To make the session more interactive few fun activities were performed with parents.

The response of parents who participated in this session was quite over whelming aand encouraging. They even mentioned the need to have more such sessions in future.

The Dressing Dash

Creativity is intelligence having fun. There are unique creations. It all looked different at Tiny Tots Wing of D.P.S, Srinagar on 19th October as the little kids were experimenting, inventing and having fun with the old newspapers.

The children were all set in teams to take part in the engaging and exciting newspaper clothes activity. The tender tots created master pieces piece applying their artistic skills with the apt instructions of teachers. They used the old newspapers and designed the colourful costumes enjoyably.

It was collection of costumes,, hats, scarves, shirts, wooly jumper, designer skirts and much more. more Cheerful children looked smart dressed in these different and creative newspaper costumes. The atmosphere was filled with fun and frolic frolic. The teachers and children were beaming with pride displaying the state of art.

A lovely day passed by designing the crafty newspaper dressing dash maintaining ma the surroundings spick and span.

“ Have fruits and vegetables if you want to lead a fruitful life.�

The youngsters from class LKG celebrated Fruit and Vegetable Day on 14th October, 2018 with the objective of creating awareness and educating children on the essence of fruits and vegetables in our regular diet. Teachers explained the importance of 'fruits and vegetables' intake in diet for mental and physical growth. The children also learned more about the taste, smell, colour and texture of some fruits and vegetables. Some children dressed themselves as strawberry, orange, pineapple and apple while others wore wore strings of tomato, carrot and other vegetables. They also spoke about importance of fruits and vegetables. The children sang 'fruit and vegetable' rhymes with great zest, enthusiasm and vigour, enjoying the moments of joy and happiness on this special day.

All the children were found to be quite thrilled and were positive on the fact that vegetables and fruits are better than junk food.
