Examinations!
People abandon me,
Oh! My dear examinations, You are quick, I am late,
When they find my personality is wee.
I have made preparations. Kindly tell me what to do.
Then I go and cry. What this world thinks as a lie And then the teasing as a shy!
I don‟t know what to do, Go, Go, Go to office, Kindly tell me what to do. Go leave my room.
I love to dream! They are as beautiful as a cake, Having on top of it some cream.
Otherwise I will use my brain, Kindly tell me what to do.
Is it my mistake to love? I can‟t help it,

My personality is where they fit.
How to Express?
Why can‟t I be free? From this struggle that annoys me.
What should I call myself? A stranger to this world,
Again, I can describe myself as a moon,
Abiding by the rules in which my soul is curled.
Who sits so sad and upset in the night that are so cool.
How to express what I feel?
Everything in this world makes me sad,
As if this cruel world wants me to kneel.
I may say I love to share; Nobody even tries to care
Including the human creature; Still something left with me as my dearest friend That is the amazing immortalic beauty of nature.
May I describe myself as a cloud? The mount is where I go at night, And listen to the wolves‟ howl.
With no words to describe it,
With all the lovely essence that enlightens my mind.
And for that I go and sit on a tree. The thing that is just done by a lark
Isnâ€&#x;t that so good and kind? Now depending on my mood
Every natural element my mind includes.
Is that all what I needed to say? But there still remains some dismay. Always live your life and never think of it as less,
On feeling sad, I go to an open plot of land. With lush green grass waving by the wind, Like a million hands swaying----Belonging to my kin.
On feeling happy, I talk with the flowers, They pass a smile to me as a response. Their beauty can be seen in the whole lawn.
When I want to celebrate, I enjoy with thousands of invertebrates. Bugs, bees and on and on goes the list, There are more nine hundred and ninety-eight that I've missed.
Then comes the blankness, Wherein my mind goes dark.
Then only you would know how to express. -Nur 7th G
School shines at Science Carnival Six students of our school participated in the Science Carnival held at DPS Budgam on 27th of September-2018 carnival under different categories. Our two students namely Zainab of class 7th E and Numair of class 8th A got appreciation under “On Spot Painting” and “10 minutes of Fame” category, respectively. Overall our school emerged as “2nd Runner Up”.
Former Celebrated Broadcaster, Mrs Rajni Kaul visits DPS Srinagar Announces yearly „Mahinder Koul Award‟ for Urdu poetry Mrs. Rajni Kaul – former broadcaster whose chequered career spans All India Radio, Voice of America and BBC Urdu among others visited Delhi Public School Srinagar yesterday. She is also the wife of the lately departed celebrated broadcaster – Mahinder Koul who was renowned for his trailblazing career. Mrs Rajini held an interactive session with the students of Class 7th. She drew on her husband‟s legacy, and his humble origins in Kashmir to an illustrious career as a pioneer broadcaster with Voice of America and BBC that landed him the „Order of British Empire Prize‟, first Asian to receive. Besides, she
also shared his fondness for Urdu poetry and literature in general. She emphasized upon the children the need to read and dream, and let no limitations restrict them. In the memory of her dear departed husband, she announced the establishment of an annual Urdu poetry award that will fetch the winner of the best poem a princely sum of 100 pounds. Mrs Rajini was also given a detailed tour of the school. She was greatly impressed by the school, and said “I am so glad the school offers the students the possibility to dream and aspire. I am glad to contribute my own bit to it.” The Chairman Mr Vijay Dhar thanked her, and said “We are indeed humbled by your kind remarks, and grateful for the award. The school will try its best to match your expectations.”
