Kadenz zum Konzert-Rondo in D-Dur KV 382 von W. A. Mozart Die Kadenz zum Konzertrondo von Mozart wurde 2004 im Auftrag von Oliver Schnyder geschrieben. Zeitgenössische Kadenzen in klassischen Werken sind polarisierend. Gerade bei Mozart-Konzerten ist es äusserst schwierig, dieser leichten, witzigen und tiefen Musik gerecht zu werden. So war es mir ein Anliegen, meine Musik nicht frontal derjenigen von Mozart gegenüberzustellen sondern Übergänge vom einen in den anderen Stil zu komponieren; so führt z. B. der obligate Triller ins Orchestertutti zurück. Alle Motive dieser Kadenz beziehen sich auf Themen des Konzert-Rondos. Meine Kadenz gibt dem Solisten die Gelegenheit, sich als Virtuose aber auch als feinfühliger Lyriker und schalkhafter Interpret zu profilieren.

Contemporary cadenzas written for Classical works tend to have a polarising effect. It is extremely difficult, particularly in Mozart’s concertos, to do justice to this music that is at once light, witty, and yet profound. So I was concerned that I should not juxtapose my music with Mozart’s in a confrontational manner, but should rather compose transitions from the one style into the other. Thus, for example, I lead us back into the orchestral tutti at the end with the obligatory trill. All the motives of this cadenza are related to themes from the Concert Rondo. My cadenza gives the soloist an opportunity to display not just his virtuosity, but also a sensitive lyricism and a mischievous sense of humour.

David Philip Hefti (*1975): Biographie: David Philip Hefti, 1975 in St. Gallen (Schweiz) geboren, wuchs in St. Gallen, Zürich und Washington D.C. auf. Er absolvierte Studien der Musik in den Fächern Komposition, Dirigieren, Klarinette und Kammermusik an den Musikhochschulen in Winterthur, Zürich und Karlsruhe (D). Zu seinen Professoren gehörten Wolfgang Rihm, Wolfgang Meyer, Elmar Schmid und Gerald Bennett. Nach mehrjähriger Unterrichtstätigkeit an der Musikhochschule Zürich lebt er heute als freischaffender Musiker in Zürich. David Philip Hefti ist Preisträger verschiedener Wettbewerbe und Stiftungen. Tonträgerproduktionen sowie Aufnahmen für Rundfunk und Fernsehen dokumentieren sein Schaffen.

Biography: David Philip Hefti, born 1975 in St. Gall (Switzerland), grew up in St. Gall, Zurich and Washington D.C. He studied music with the subjects of composition, conducting, clarinet and chambermusic at the music academies of Winterthur, Zurich and Karlsruhe (Germany). He studied with Wolfgang Rihm, Wolfgang Meyer, Elmar Schmid and Gerald Bennett. After several years of teaching at the music academy of Zurich, he now lives as a freelance musician in Zurich. David Philip Hefti is a laureate of several contests and foundations. Parts of his oeuvre have been recorded on CD and broadcasted by radio and television.
