PRODUCTION:
For 70 amazing years, you—the people of North Carolina—have been by our side. You’ve inspired us and cheered us on since our first telecast back in 1955. Together, we’ve welcomed Mister Rogers to our neighborhood, gotten our hands dirty with This Old House and gone on countless trips with NC Weekend. We’ve mastered the art of French cooking with Julia, found our roots with Henry Louis Gates Jr. and rummaged through every yard sale looking for the next big Antiques Roadshow discovery.
Because of you, PBS North Carolina has expanded beyond broadcast television to educate, inform, entertain and inspire all North Carolinians—at home, in the classroom or on the go. Your support has made all of this possible, and for that we’re forever grateful.
So here’s to you for 70 wonderful years! And stay tuned as the best is yet to come.
The challenges facing today’s retirees are unique. Higher inflation, sky-rocketing healthcare costs, longer life expectancies, and complex Social Security rules all make much of the conventional retirement wisdom of the past obsolete. In this new era, it’s crucial that you take a fresh look at the challenges ahead and create a comprehensive plan to address them.
For 30 years, we’ve been working with people like you to address the challenges of the transition from accumulating their nest egg to using it to support their retirement lifestyle. Get in touch today to schedule a complimentary consultation

As a proud DPAC sponsor and advocate of the arts, First Horizon Bank is honored to welcome you to the theater. It is a privilege to share this remarkable experience with you as we celebrate the many ways live performance unites, inspires and uplifts us all.
Our financial institution recognizes the benefit and importance of supporting community events like this one. While we have the resources and reach of a large bank, our roots are firmly grounded in the values of a local one — roots planted right here in Durham. These connections empower us to drive meaningful change in the places we serve and for the people who call them home.
If you’re interested in learning more about our organization, the ways we’re impacting our communities and how we’re bringing our clients a unique blend of big bank power and small bank personalization, we encourage you to visit us online at firsthorizon.com or stop by one of our many banking centers in the Triangle.
Thank you for joining us today. Now, sit back, relax and enjoy the show!
On behalf of the City of Durham, I would like to welcome you to DPAC! Like so many Durham residents, I recognize the jewel that DPAC is to Durham and the Triangle region.
I’m thrilled to say that DPAC, after more than a decade, is continuing to showcase the energy, the passion and great entertainment with a list of performances that people will travel from miles around to see.
This season will feature some of Broadway’s biggest hits, concerts, comedy shows and special events to ever take the DPAC stage. I’m also excited to see so many DPAC fan-favorites and first-time performers take the stage throughout the upcoming season.
And as usual, all the special touches that come with seeing a Broadway show or concert at DPAC still await you, starting with the beauty of the theater and DPAC’s legendary customer service. A visit to DPAC is an open invitation to experience Durham. It’s as easy as parking and walking to downtown restaurants, or taking a short drive to nearby malls, museums, or historical sites.
As your Mayor, I’m so excited that one of my duties is to officially welcome you to one of the greatest theaters in the world! But don’t take my word: last year DPAC was ranked in the top 5 in the country by national theater reviewers and magazines, including Venues Today and Pollstar. Thank you for choosing DPAC and Durham. Now settle into your seats to enjoy your DPAC experience and an unforgettable show.
In
Service
and Gratitude,
Leonardo Williams Mayor
Since opening in 2008, this greeting has been offered to the nearly seven million guests who have come to DPAC to experience spectacular Broadway productions, high-profile concerts and comedy shows, and special events of all kinds.
As we look ahead, I can confidently say that Broadway’s biggest blockbusters, the very best new musicals from theatres in New York and London, plus the most exciting revivals of Broadway’s greatest hits are all planning for their future engagements at DPAC. As one of the most successful Broadway theaters in America, we cannot wait to share details about Broadway at DPAC’s 2025 / 2026 season and beyond.
It is both an honor and a privilege to present some of the biggest stars and greatest shows in the world, but what’s even more important is ensuring that each and every one of our guests has an unforgettable, moving, emotional, fun, and all-around great experience at DPAC. Our passion for the guest experience is unmatched, and our red carpet customer service commitment is always to you, our guests, members, and the super fans of Broadway. It is our greatest reward to see audiences at DPAC immersed and captivated by the magic of live entertainment experiences shared with friends, family members, and loved ones.
I thank you for joining us for this very special performance... we’re glad you are here.

The Performing Arts Showstoppers at DPAC program is for Triangle area high school students who both love smiling and saying hello AND seeing Broadway at DPAC’s biggest shows.
Showstoppers will be welcoming guests at DPAC’s entry doors all season long. Their genuine and kind greetings provide an upbeat entry experience for DPAC’s guests as they arrive at the very biggest Broadway shows on tour.
The Showstopper program offers students the following:
• Volunteer service hours for college-bound applications and resumes.
• Excellent customer service experience at one of the top-five performing arts centers in America.
• Access to experience Broadway at DPAC’s hit shows.
• Plus, peer social gatherings with like-minded fans of Broadway and theatre.
The inspiration for this program comes from the Durham Wayfinders at DPAC, a City of Durham volunteer program where members share their time and talents in the spirit of helping everyone feel welcome at DPAC.
For more information, visit DPACnc.com/community/performing-artsshowstoppers
For many of us, DPAC holds a special place in our hearts. From the bright lights and big smiles to that feeling of anticipation; there’s nothing quite like catching a show at DPAC. At least that’s what Betsy Kessler believed. Betsy was the first ever Ticketing Specialist hired at DPAC. She would lovingly tell you that she had been here ‘since the dirt’. A larger than life persona, Betsy never met a stranger and made it her mission to connect everyone she met to DPAC. With her giant laugh, big rosy red cheeks, and warm hugs, it was a joy watching Betsy do what she loved in the place she called home.
For nearly sixteen years, Betsy was DPAC’s greatest champion. She ushered in groups by the dozens, made thousands of Broadway at DPAC members smile, and wore her DPAC red with pride. For me and many others, she will always be remembered as DPAC’s shining star.
Thank you, Betsy. It was a pleasure to see you shine.
DPAC's Broadway season is dedicated in loving memory of William (Bill) Brackett, Jr.
We take pride in being able to present the best touring shows that Broadway has to offer and one reason we can do that season after season was due to the tireless efforts of William (Bill) Brackett, Jr., retired Technical Director at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) and retired Director of Technical Operations at Professional Facilities Management (PFM), one of the two partner companies that operate DPAC.
As part of his work with PFM, Bill was the lead consultant for the Stage and Backstage portions of DPAC, and it was Bill’s goal to ensure that DPAC could welcome the largest touring shows from New York - Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, Radio City Christmas Spectacular, and Wicked, to name a few. In fact, many of the touring crew working on these shows provided input on the design of DPAC, all due to relationships Bill cultivated when these shows visited PPAC during his 21-year career in Providence.
Bill spent countless hours between Providence and Durham making sure the design came to fruition, all vital Audio, Lighting, and Rigging systems were specified and installed, and that all Production Staff were in place and ready to go ahead of DPAC’s opening performance on November 30, 2008, with B.B. King. DPAC would not be the place it is today without the vision, leadership, and mentorship of William Brackett, Jr. – one of the founding fathers of DPAC.

The DPAC Rising Star Awards is a program designed to celebrate outstanding achievements in high school musical theater throughout Central North Carolina. The program focuses attention on the meaningful work being done both on and off stage by dedicated teachers and students.
As the regional qualifying event for The National High School Musical Theatre Awards™ (NHSMTA), also known as The Jimmy Awards®, The DPAC Rising Star Awards brings together high school musical theater students from Durham, the Triangle and the surrounding region to perform and compete for a chance to represent DPAC in the national finals in New York City.
The DPAC Rising Star Awards will take place at DPAC on May 29, 2025. The event will feature twenty student finalists as they compete live for their chance to advance to the national level at the Jimmy Awards in New York City. Throughout the course of the evening, 12 awards will be presented recognizing excellence in a broad range of categories. Hosted by Clay Aiken and adjudicated live by a panel of esteemed judges, this event will not be one to miss.
Last spring, DPAC named Alex Fluker (Panther Creek High School) and Conor Kruger (Enloe High School) The DPAC Rising Star Awards’ Best Actress and Best Actor winners. Alex and Conor then went on to compete nationally at The Jimmy Awards®
BY HUTH PHOTO
The national competition included a total of 102 nominees representing 51 Regional Awards Programs from across the country. Alex and Conor worked with Broadway professionals and made their Broadway debuts on Nederlander’s Minskoff Stage, where Disney’s The Lion King performs to sold out audiences nightly. Both represented DPAC and Central North Carolina exceptionally and we cannot wait to see their bright futures.
More information on NHSMTA™ and The Jimmy Awards® can be found at jimmyawards.com.
The DPAC Rising Star Awards are made possible by the generous support of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina

Can’t use one or more of your season tickets for an upcoming show? Consider donating them to DPAC’s Discover Broadway program.
As a Broadway at DPAC Member, you have the option to donate tickets you cannot use, preventing valuable seats from going to waste. Your generosity allows area youth and seniors the opportunity to experience their first Broadway show and discover the magic of live entertainment.
This season, donated tickets are distributed to Durham Public Schools and the Durham Housing Authority.
• If you know in advance that you cannot attend a show, or even if one member of your party will not be joining you, simply contact DPAC at DiscoverBroadway@dpacnc.com.
• You will receive an acknowledgment from DPAC that your unused tickets will be transferred to an area student or senior.
• DPAC will handle all other details and provide instructions to the recipient on how to access their tickets.
PLEASE NOTE: Ticket donations must be made at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled performance date. Discover Broadway donations do not provide tax donation receipts.
At DPAC, we’re committed to Guest Courtesy. Please remember to be a good neighbor to those seated around you.
After the Performance Yes, the lobby gets busy and the parking lots can be tricky, but please remain at your seats until the houselights come up.
As a courtesy to the performers and other audience members, DPAC asks that you do not rush for the exits prematurely at the end of the performance.
Entering and Exiting the Seating Area Please time your exits and reentry to the seating area to occur only at intermission or breaks between songs. This is a courtesy to other guests around you who will appreciate you keeping these disruptions to a minimum.
Kids at DPAC Please note that all guests require a ticket, regardless of age. Children under the age of 6 are not allowed at most DPAC performances including Broadway, Concerts and Comedy shows.
For some shows, DPAC will make recommendations on the appropriate minimum age based on the content and the length of the event. Parental discretion is always advised and judgment of the appropriateness of the content for each show should be made on an individual basis prior to purchase.
Children must be able to sit quietly in their own seat without disturbing other guests. As a further courtesy to our guests, DPAC recommends one parent or chaperone for every one child in attendance.
It Can Wait Please save texting until AFTER the show. The light from phones is distracting to others throughout the theater. Please keep them turned off.
It’s Superstar Entertainment, Not a Food Fest Small snacks and drinks are welcome in the seating area, but as a courtesy to those around you, eat and drink as quietly as possible. Please know that odors and noisy wrappers can disturb others. We also ask that you finish sandwiches or other large food items before entering the seating area.
At DPAC, each event that we host determines their own policy on photography and video recording using mobile phones. We enforce these policies at their direction.
Please note that GoPros, tablets, and cameras of any kind are prohibited at all DPAC events. All Broadway shows prohibit photography and video recording.
Quiet Please Once the show starts, please let the stage be the center of attention. We ask that you turn off all cell phones and limit conversation. If children are attending this performance with you, please exit the theater immediately if they become restless or talkative.
DPAC’s Local Hero Spotlight recognizes those doing great things in service to their communities or families. Local Heroes receive a VIP night out at DPAC and in many cases, this night out provides an opportunity for those who have never been to DPAC to have their first-ever live theater experience.
DPAC rolls out the red carpet for Local Heroes by providing a VIP experience which includes premium seating to a select show, complimentary parking and admission to the BMW of Southpoint President’s Club hospitality area. DPAC also shines a spotlight on the great work being done by all Local Heroes by featuring them on social media and on our website.
Want to nominate someone? Visit DPACnc.com, and you can find this program listed under the Community tab.
Congratulations to all our Local Heroes
Each fall, DPAC selects 30 high school students from across Central North Carolina who are passionate about live entertainment to serve as Performing Arts Ambassadors throughout the school year.
As part of the team, Ambassadors shadow staff across multiple departments and attend a wide variety of DPAC events, including Broadway, Concerts, Comedy and Special Events. With an emphasis on content creation, Ambassadors receive media training and report on their experiences via videos, online blogs, and social media posts. Ambassadors also receive exclusive opportunities to go behind-the-scenes at some of DPAC's biggest events.
These unique, memorable, and impactful experiences offer the chance to learn about the importance of media in the performing arts and live entertainment, while also preparing students for future careers in the performing arts industry. Follow along with our Ambassadors this season by following @DPACHeartoftheArts on Instagram, or by visiting DPACnc.com.

Broadway Shows are Scripted. Hotels Don’t Have to Be.
Mobile entry is a safe, easy, convenient, and contactless way to access and manage your tickets all in one place.
Safety is every venue’s #1 priority and mobile entry gives DPAC a better understanding of who guests are prior to every performance. Now, more than ever, it is critical for venues to know who is in possession of each ticket in order to be able to share important information with them before the doors open and the show begins.
With mobile entry, which is powered by DPAC’s official ticketing partner Ticketmaster, there’s no need for direct contact or physical exchange of your ticket. Mobile entry guarantees a quick and safe ticket scan straight from your phone.
Our secure ticket technology reduces the risk of ticket fraud and eliminates the possibilities of theft or counterfeiting. Once you’ve purchased your mobile tickets on Ticketmaster, you can always rest assured you’re getting the seats you paid for.
Always be aware, though. Do not purchase tickets from unauthorized online ticket brokers. Don’t be fooled by online websites that mimic DPAC’s name or website or offer tickets they might not even have. Go directly to DPACnc.com or to Ticketmaster.com.
