DOWNTOWN ITHACA IS GROWING
During your visit, you may notice an incredible construction project underway a short walking distance from the Commons.
The existing Green Street Garage around and above Cinemapolis movie theater has undergone a significant vertical transformation utilizing space in our growing community!

This large whole-block project is both the Asteri and the Ithacan development projects. Together, these projects will result in the construction of two glorious 11-story buildings with 181 affordable housing units above a state-of-the-art community conference center, retail space, and 200 market rate apartments. It will transform Green Street with reimagined public spaces and necessary infrastructure updates.
The Green Street Garage portion of the project has now reopened, with the Conference Center and housing anticipated in 2024.

Parking Options During the Construction Period
Cayuga Street Garage: conveniently located across the street from Hotel Ithaca and near the Tompkins County Public Library.
Hourly Fee: $1/$10 max. Free on the weekends
Seneca Street Garage: located across from the Commons near Hilton Garden Inn.
Hourly Fee: $1/$10 max Free on the Weekends
On-Street Parking: Parking Fee: $1.50 per hour. To use the system, register online at parkmobile.io or download the mobile app.
Green Street Garage: Hourly Fee: $1/$10 max Free on the Weekends
Once registered, use the mobile app, internet, or Parkmobile’s toll free number 877-727-5730 to pay for parking (Note: if you don’t have a smartphone you can still set up a Parkmobile account and pay for parking by calling the toll free number).
Parking spaces for people with disabilities are available both on the street and inside garages near entrances and elevators.
