DOWNTOWN Welcome 335 new residents by 2020

WORK DOWNTOWN

Grow by 200 new jobs and maintain 3,200 public sector employees

STAY DOWNTOWN

Grow by at least 200 more overnight rooms in 2018

Take action on underutilized sites and connect downtown neighborhoods

Held the 2nd annual Movie Night on Carroll Creek series that brought 1,600 people downtown for its six showings

Applied for and received help from Leadership Frederick County’s Leaders on Loan program to identify how to better use the trellis area on Carroll Creek

AUGUST

Partnership staff & downtown business owners visited Asheville, NC and Greenville, SC to learn more from their downtown staff

Welcomed 250 Hood College students to Downtown Frederick for a “Taste of Downtown”

Offered trolley service to 839 riders with support from our partners, increasing visitor circulation at nine First Saturdays

SEPTEMBER

OCTOBER

Kicked off the 25th Anniversary celebration at a Rise & Shine with the Partnership breakfast. More than 100 guests raised $60,000 to support the Strategic Plan

Managed the ongoing faรงade program, which has awarded more than 100 improvement grants since its inception

Stay Downtown: Launched an hours of operation initiative to encourage businesses to stay open late during the holiday season

Published premier issue of Get it Downtown magazine, highlighting businesses and owners

Play Downtown: Lit up 30 downtown storefronts during the holidays

Sold $121,000 in gift cards between June and December (Nearly $81,000 sold in December!), an increase of 12% compared to the previous year

Live Downtown: Awarded a $20,000 grant from the State for marketing and policy initiatives

Unveiled Mission Interior renovation changes to Candy Kitchen and North Market Pop Shop. A $4,000 grant funded the interior business improvements

Connect Downtown: Launched a study to re-examine the U.S. Post Office site

Conducted five Competitive Edge series sessions including a city visit to Fredericksburg, VA and speakers from the National Retail Federation and local subject experts

FEBRUARY

Stay Downtown: Advocated in Annapolis for the Downtown Hotel and hosted a hotel pop up to show support for the Downtown Hotel

Advocated for changes to the City’s Restaurants with Entertainment regulations

Work Downtown: Awarded a $15,500 grant from the State to create design concepts and a brand for a new tech incubator

Worked with the City to achieve approval of a new sidewalk cafĂŠ ordinance

MARCH

APRIL Hosted the Downtown Frederick Cooking School that featured 15 different classes by downtown chefs. The event was attended by 286 people and raised $6,000

Held Bring a Broom Saturday with more than 200 volunteers mulching, sweeping and planting flowers to brighten Downtown Frederick

Held the Downtown Collective, celebrating Downtown Frederick’s fashion, art and home design businesses

Connect Downtown: Awarded a $10,000 Main Street Improvement grant from the State to implement a pedestrian alley enhancement project

Held the annual Downtown Friends Bash at Artomatic to thank investors, supporters and partners

MAY

JUNE Held seven ribbon cuttings as part of Launch it Downtown, a program for businesses who have opened, reopened or celebrated a significant milestone

Received $25,000 for a second series of Levitt AMP Frederick concerts on Carroll Creek during June, July and August. Special thanks to our partners in producing another great series

Launched second round of Mission Interior with nearly $20,000 awarded to six businesses thanks to a grant supported by the State, the City of Frederick and the Partnership
