RELIEF & RECOVERY IN A NEW YEAR This time last year, we were just getting used to life in a pandemic. Things were changing rapidly, adjustments and adaptations were being made, and we were all starting to realize that we might be facing some serious challenges for a long while. It’s been a tough stretch, to say the least, and we’re not finished with it yet. But a year later, we’re starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and plenty of reasons to believe that better days are coming.
We’ve all been looking forward to a return to normalcy, and it won’t all come overnight. But so many plans are in the works for resuming the things we love downtown, businesses re-opening their doors, and being able to gather again. We’re turning a corner, and it’s coming. Some of it has already begun, and there’s so much more to come in the months ahead. Our work this year is squarely focused on relief efforts and the postpandemic recovery to help our businesses and our downtown community come
back stronger than ever. Let’s all continue to do our part - wear a mask, social distance, and take care of each other while we recover together. This report highlights some of the center city’s accomplishments through the first quarter of 2021, along with updates on some of the initiatives enacted to provide relief to our businesses.
