Daylighting Law
California Assembly Bill 413, also known as the Daylighting Law, is a statewide law that prohibits parking within 20 feet of any marked or unmarked crosswalk. This law went into effect on January 1, 2025.
It is illegal to stop, stand, or park a vehicle within 20 feet of any marked or unmarked crosswalk or 15 feet of any crosswalk where a curb extension is present
The law was created to improve pedestrian safety by reducing collisions and increase visibility for pedestrians and moving vehicles.
