ATOMIC RANCH
The 2025 Transitional collection is more about a place in time than anything else: the era of the atomic ranch house, the midst of the mid-century modern movement. It’s a little bit rockabilly, a little bit Mad Men, and inspired, in a way, by the thrill of thrifting.
Many of the designs are heavily influenced by the architecture of the atomic ranch house, with straight lines and minimalist shapes. There are motifs reminiscent of 1950s bowling alleys and vintage Western wallpaper prints. It celebrates silhouettes that seem like they just stepped out of a swing dance, with broad belts and big movement, while introducing entirely new ones, like a broomstick pant and barrel jeans. We’re bringing the colors back down to earth, with grounding golds, rustic reds, grassy greens, and the most beautiful ‘bronco’ brown.
The interesting and unintentional thing about this collection is that it’s proving to be universally appealing in a way we didn’t expect, transcending generations and enticing people to expand beyond their selfproclaimed ‘style’.
What can we say? Atomic Ranch has a little something for everyone.

COLORFUL CHARACTERS
Coveted and collectible, these charming vintage creations are a subset of Southwestern jewelry aptly and cleverly dubbed ‘Zuni Toons’. They’ve been artfully crafted by (mostly) Zuni artisans in channel inlay and accurately depict some of the most universally recognized cartoon characters of the 20th Century, ranging from Mickey Mouse to Betty Boop to Snoopy.
As you may know, Disney is notoriously stringent and litigious about unlicensed use of their characters’ likenesses, so the majority of early Zuni Toons are unsigned by the artisan to limit their liability. However, Walt’s wife, Lillian Disney, was raised on the Nez Perce reservation, and legend has it that she recognized the economic opportunity these pieces were creating for the Zuni people and quietly put an indefinite moratorium on prosecuting any copyright infringement pertaining to Zuni Toons jewelry.

The Atomic Ranch collection is magically modern yet undeniably retro. It’ll be nostalgic for some and feel like a fun thrift store find for others. It appeals to both the generation that remembers the aesthetic from the mid-20th Century and those who weren’t even born until the 21st. It showcases the wide collars and warm colors of yesteryears, but in never-before-seen silhouettes.
The suits are playful, the skirts are swinging, the images are iconic. The signature serape is in a surprising velvet, and that seemingly simple broom skirt is actually a power pant. Nothing is as expected, nothing is ordinary.

WELL SUITED
Who says a suit has to be stuffy? We’ve taken the power suit and given it a playful punch with a cool cropped silhouette, some contrast coil stitching, and that wide-leg look we’re all loving. Plus, in a real retro twist, we did it in one of this season’s signature hues, a deep ‘bronco’ brown that’s just a few shades shy of black. It’s fashionably fun and seriously chic.

FEMININITY IN FULL SWING
The sentiment of the season is strong and feminine, and let’s just say, it’s really taking shape.
So much of what makes the styles of this collection stand out is in the silhouette. All of the aesthetic of Atomic Ranch embodies a retro, vintage vibe. The prints and embellishments are designed to feel charmingly mid-century, and the silhouettes needed to match that energy and era; the execution reinforces the art of femininity, with elements like self-belted waists, accentuated angles, and full-bodied skirts – we even reimagined the petticoat! It’s reminiscent of swing dancing days, when the sexiness was subtle and the magic was in the movement – the swishing and the swaying and the top-notch twirl-ability.
Oh, and we designed most hems to hit at a tea-length or midi so you can show off those peewee boots! (Or pair them with platforms if you’re feeling fancy.)

EYE OF THE TIGER
This season, we’re swooning over the silky striations of Tiger’s Eye Jasper jewelry. Technically, it is a type of quartz, and the chatoyant gemstone is aptly named because it resembles a cat’s eye when turned to the light. Not only do the beautiful browns and gorgeous golden hues pair perfectly with the palette of Atomic Ranch and the collections to come, but this alluring stone is said to be a grounding stone that enhances vitality, balance, and intuition.
THE GOLDEN AGE
As we enter into the second half of 2025, we are embracing ALL the yellows.
From creamy cornsilk to just on the cusp of caramel and all the mellow yellows and mustards in between, the buttery shade is showing up strong this season, carries over into fall, and has a heavy presence in the holiday collection.
The unique thing about yellow is that it makes drastically different impressions depending on where you are on the spectrum. The lemony end is lively and loud; it’s going to be more of your poison color, used sparingly and in small doses to add a pop of personality, like the “bowling alley” diamonds on the boots and biker. When you get to more of the mustardy end – the goldens and ambers and even inching toward caramel – it’s a very grounding color, warm and welcoming, almost soothing in a sense; those hues you can use as a stronger presence, as heavy accents (e.g. the Tulip Time Jacket) or even as the main character, like in this season’s statement suedes.

You know you’ve truly built a brand when someone can look at what you’ve made and know it’s yours. Like a boucle Chanel jacket or a Louboutin red-bottom heel.
Since the beginning, we’ve found it hard to define our look. It’s classic cowgirl, yes, but it’s also modern twang. It’s feminine but fierce, charming with an edge. It’s kind of Ralph Lauren meets rock’n’roll. We were recently part of a conversation with a longtime friend who’s seen us through decades of designs. “It’s hard to put Double D into words, but you know it when you see it.” And how’s that? “The stitching and studs.”
That tracks. For us, it’s always been about the embellishments; it’s been our unique source of self-expression, a thing we’ve been endlessly dedicated to doing exceptionally well (like, by hand), and something that sets us apart. Embroidery is essential to telling our style story, and studs, well, that just makes an edgy statement. And it’s sort of become our signature: stitches and studs.

THE OVERS & UNDERS
Leather is an art form all its own, and one of the intricacies is in balancing the inlay and the overlay.
Inlay is when you have a second piece of leather stitched in from behind, framed by a cutout in the primary piece, like the florals in the Tulip Time Jacket. Inlay is most commonly a contrasting color and is almost always outlined by contrast stitching for both aesthetic emphasis and for the sake of structure. This is also a really fun way to incorporate hair-on hides or textured leathers, almost implying there may be a whole magical layer underneath. On the contrary, the inlay may be tonal and used simply to create an optical element of depth.
Overlay (or appliqué) is embellishment added on top of the primary piece. Overlay is typically affixed with subtle, tonal stitching that is more for function than form. Whereas inlay provides depth, overlay provides dimension.
When done right, the two can work beautifully together to bring to life florals or stars or even whole Western scenes.

We’ve been country when country wasn’t cool. Lucky for you, it is now.
Perhaps it’s the impossibly lovable Lainey Wilson and her trademark twang, bringing bell-bottoms back in a BIG way. Maybe it was Beyoncé’s return to her Texas roots— love it or hate it, her country crossover changed the landscape of fashion and introduced the appeal of Western wear to a whole new generation. Or it might’ve been Yellowstone, highlighting that ranch life can be both gritty and glam and igniting every woman’s inner Beth.
No matter who you credit with this country comeback, it’s a style revolution – and evolution – we’re happy to see
coming. We love watching it make its way into the mainstream and appealing to an audience who’d never entertained it before. Ladies who lunch are living for leather bikers. Celebrities are styling up squash blossoms and donning denim jackets like never before, and boots are bigger than they’ve ever been. Gen Z is developing an appreciation for labels like Mummy’s Bundle and Oscar Betz, who’ve been legendary longer than they’ve even been alive.
And to that, we say, “Welcome, y’all!” There’s plenty of room on the Western side of the runway.

THE BOULDER, THE BETTER
Sometimes called Royston, Ribbon, or Boulder turquoise (or some combination of the three), this uniquely exquisite stone is characterized by the turquoise veins formed within the host stone, most often chert, shale, or limestone. It is harvested from the Boulder Mine in northeast Nevada, where production is limited due to the mine’s remote location and extreme weather; as a result, the stones are highly coveted for their rarity as well as their beauty.

THE SKINNY ON THE NEW WIDE LEG
We’ve shelved our skinnies and we’ve welcomed the wide leg with open arms; now we’re embracing the appeal of the chic, structured spin that is the barrel jean.
WHAT EXACTLY IS A BARREL JEAN?
They’re called that, of course, because of their shape; laid flat, the pattern of these pants has a convex curve that resembles a barrel. (We’ve also heard them called horseshoe jeans.) They are a variation on the wideleg silhouette that peaks outward at the knee and then tapers back in toward the ankle. The shape requires a certain amount of structure, so you’ll only find a true barrel pant in fabrics with a sturdy hand, like denim or canvas.
HOW SHOULD THEY FIT?
You definitely want them to fit in the waist (at the natural waist) and somewhat slim through the hip, otherwise they won’t hang right and you risk losing appeal of the unique shape. You also want them to be cropped and hit at or above the ankle so that the peak at the knee appears intentional and accentuated rather than accidental and slouchy.
HOW DO I WEAR THEM?
Let them be the volume! Broad, bulky, or billowy on top, combined with bowed on bottom, is simply too much to take in visually and will not be a flattering final look. Pair them with tops that are fitted, cropped, and/or tucked in.

There’s no real roadmap to the Western way of life, but we sure had some fun with the concept of what bits and baubles it takes to create a cowboy.
