THE NUANCE OF NU RODEO An East Coast equestrian rides into a Western rodeo…

It’s not the start of a barroom joke, but it is the starting point of the aesthetic for this collection. Inspired by equines and tack, English riders and rodeo royalty, and one untouchable trapunto scene that made an indelible impact, Nu Rodeo is a delicate design dance unlike anything we’ve ever done before. The hues are earthy and grounded, balanced with soft sky blues. The imagery is traditional with detailed depictions of horses, accents of tack, and an exquisite paint pony-inspired animal print.

We’re debuting a demure glen plaid with a touch of twang, we’re featuring silhouettes of full-volume skirts and sleeves, and we’re reintroducing an emphasis on the waist.

There’s an undercurrent of effortless elegance, of poise and polish and strong femininity. It’s giving old money and Western grit.

BACK IN THE SADDLE Saddle brown, that is. This season

introduces softer, warmer shades that feel fit for the stable.

The whole equine/equestrian undercurrent of this collection naturally lends itself to hues with a bit of a horsey feel, colors that take you back to the tack room or feel reminiscent of the coat of a colt; we even went literal with a classic chrome pony print. They span from caramel-y to chocolatey, and a few pieces veer into a reddened sorrel sector of the color wheel.

Shifting to slightly lighter and softer browns felt key in complementing the powder blues and soft chambrays that are the signature of the season, and they’re married together by the presence of warm winter whites and creamy khakis.

Fret not, though, friends, the black-brown bronco pieces you’ve committed to from collections past will still pair perfectly with this palette, especially in punctuating pops, like a boot, scarf, or even jacket.

CINCH IT UP We introduced you to this trend a few months back, this idea of layering belts, and while it took a little while for some of you to come around to it, here we are in 2026 and it’s still gaining steam.

The beauty of this concept is much like layering your necklaces or building your bracelet stack: it’s about diversity, about varying your widths, your styles, and even your mediums. Another pro tip for perfecting this look? Set your buckles askew. Maybe you keep one centered and set your others asymmetrically. GLAD IN GLEN PLAID This season’s signature print is about as timeless and sophisticated as it gets. Sometimes called ‘prince’s plaid’, it has an inherent regalness about it. It’s preppy and posh with an equestrian lean.

We made it our own by experimenting with the scale of it, adding Western accents of contrasting smiley welts, and really pushing the envelope by printing it on leather.

CHROME IS WHERE THE ART IS How could we create an entire

equestrian-inspired collection without an obvious homage to the natural beauty of horses?

Always a fan of animal prints as a neutral, this one truly works well that way. The color palette is very mild and earthy, which means it can pair well with blacks or brights or other earth tones, and the print is definitely Western, instantly recognizable as more livestock than exotic, which works right into your rodeo wardrobe.

Now, we’re going to tread lightly with this one, because we know there are a lot of experts at identifying breeds, colors, and markings of horses. We do understand the difference between chrome and paint when it comes to horses, and that this print is technically more of a paint than a true chrome coloring. That said, we’re in the business of making clothes, and we take a lot of creative freedoms with our designs, including naming them. So, let’s just call it chrome and celebrate it for what it is – a timeless animal print that can transform your Western wardrobe, in silhouettes that will steal your heart.

HOORAY, CHAMBRAY There is so much to love about chambray, and the sweetheart of the denim family is showing up strong this season.

We’ll let you in on a little secret: what many of us love most about chambray – the fact that it’s softer, lighter, and more breathable than most of our other denims – is because it’s not actually denim at all. While it shares a lot of the characteristics and visually resembles a well-worn stonewashed denim, a true chambray is actually a plain weave cotton rather than a twill, and it alternates the warp (vertical weave) in blue and the weft (horizontal) in white, hence the lighter hue.

For our purposes, though, at least in this collection, chambray is an umbrella term referring to the color family rather than the composition. You’ll see that same soft blue shade throughout Nu Rodeo, in suedes and silks and, ironically, in some classic cottons that are actually a true denim twill.

All the tricky technicalities aside, this chambray shade is a color that should very much be on your wardrobe radar, as both a core and a complement, for the next several seasons.

HORSICULTURE This statement print brings together

two things we can rarely resist: gorgeous Western art and a good play on words.

The impetus of this entire collection is rooted way back in the McMullens’ childhood home, where Nana had a piece of trapunto artwork hanging in the living room. It was a classic Western scene quite similar to this, horses in a pasture. That alone might not have made much of an impression, except that being trapunto, it was textured yet framed, and this left one little designer-to-be longing to touch it, so curious what it felt like behind that frame, that the image imprinted on her brain. Decades later, she and her team designed that memory into this timeless, traditional Horsiculture print in a lightweight tencel that maybe isn’t as textured as trapunto, but is quite lovely to the touch.

The name is obviously (or maybe not-so-obviously, according to some naysayers on our team) a horsey play on the word ‘horticulture’. We cracked up when we thought of it, we still think it’s clever, and we’ll die on this hill.
