Well it has certainly been an interesting 12 months, with the sale of Tom and Lee’s flagship property “Dorroughby” and the sale of our Stockfeed business, as well. Overall though, nothing has changed with the way we breed, raise and prepare our sale bulls.
We are now concentrating on selling our bulls direct from the paddock. We have culled heavily this year due to the season and the price of cattle overall (which has now begun rising steadily, once again). What we are left with is a great draft of bulls that we are proud to offer stamped with the Dorroughby brand. There are bulls here to suit all operations, from the traditional bullock grower herds, bulls suitable for joining to maiden heifers, bulls to add muscle shape to your herds, and bulls that will produce incredibly soft progeny.
We have been steadily making ground with our branded meat product, with 2 trials currently underway with progeny bought back from previous bull clients. One trial is for the restaurant trade that are desperately seeking a Speckle Park product, with the other for an overseas client seeking a British
bred product outside of Angus. It is early days, but with a potentially successful trial and an ongoing buyback program, we see Speckle Park competing with Angus on menus across the country, which will benefit the whole breed and Stud Breeders alike. Any updates will be sent via email across our existing client base – still early days, but the potential for the Speckle Park breed is quite large.
All inspections are by appointment, by contacting Dean Missingham on 0438 831 902. The sale bulls are located at 261 Althaus Road, Westbrook, which is just off the Gore highway behind the old Westbrook Prison.
We look forward to showing you through our bulls and assist you in purchasing a Sire that will increase your herd value through the progeny they produce.
All sale bulls are Tick Fever Vaccinated, up to date with 7 in 1 and Vibreo, and are ready to work from the moment they set foot on your property.
Motility has been passed by all sale bulls, bar S57 (who had footrot 1 week prior to semen testing) and T92. Both bulls will be retested by the end of August but won’t be for sale until they have both passed.
If you are interested in either of these two, we can put a hold on them for you (no deposit required).
Thanks, Dean, Hayley, Tom & Lee Missingham Dorroughby Speckle Park

Notta 151A Cause N

A full brother to T33 and much the same type - a larger frame that could hold a lot more weight than he is showing.
Would be a perfect fit for the bullock growers or larger feeder types.

Nice and soft and would suit any herd type to add or keep that softness in the progeny.

Lower gestation, lower birthweight, without losing any growth traits.
