Welcome to Your New Home This booklet has useful information and advice to help you prepare for your move.
Move In Day • When you arrive, you and your friends and family will be welcomed by our friendly team with refreshments and shown to your room. • You’ll get a guided tour and information about a normal day in the life of our home - including the fire procedures and emergency exits. • We’re happy to help you unpack but if you want to do this with your friends and family, thats fine too! Our housekeeping team will collect your clothing to name and discuss the services they deliver to support you. • You’ll find a guide to living in our home in your room with lots of helpful information - we know there’s a lot to take in on your first day. This guide will also have the week’s activity programme. • In the first few days you’ll meet key members of the team. The are lots of us so don’t worry if you can’t remember our names, everyone should wear a name badge. • Our restaurant team will arrange to talk through your dietary preferences and meals. We want you to enjoy the food after all this is your home! • When you’re ready we’ll start introducing you to others in the home, especially those who have similar interests and hobbies. • We’ll brief our night staff before you arrive so they are aware of your normal routine - if you need anything during the night just use the call bell to get their attention, it’s there for you to use day or night. • If you have your own car, we’ll make sure a parking space is available if you let us know in advance.
Your Personalised Care Plans • After you arrive, we can go through your personalised care plans. These cover everything from what you like to eat and drink, your interests and hobbies, to your sleep pattern and how you want our staff to help you on a day-to-day basis. Friends and family are always encouraged to help us create these plans with you.
This Is Your Home • Your friends and family are always welcome in our home. • Family and friends can also join you for meals, but a small charge may apply. Just let a member of staff know before they arrive. • Family and friends are always welcome to be part of your day-to-day care and join in with activites and events in the home with you.
