Proud sponsor of Dorking Rugby Club since 2006
In that time we’ve continued to strengthen our partnership of local businesses supporting each other.
While Dorking Rugby Club was founded in 1921, we too have a proud and long-standing tradition. Jackson-Stops began life in 1910, and our Dorking branch was established in 2005, the same year DRFC was awarded the RFU Mini and Youth Seal of Approval.
In that time, we’ve helped countless families find their dream home in Dorking and the surrounding areas and managed the sale of innumerable properties too. In the last quarter of 2024 alone, we agreed sales of over £24 million – a testament to the experience, tenacity and hard work of our staff. Our team of property professionals has decades of experience in the local property market, and indeed live in this area, giving them a detailed understanding of the market in Dorking.
With excellent local coverage, including a branch in Reigate and more across Surrey, JacksonStops Dorking is also part of a national network of branches covering the country’s most desirable areas. From Cornwall to North Yorkshire, the Cotswolds to the capital, our ability to market properties across the country is comprehensive. With regular coverage in The Times, The Telegraph and Country Life, and on the most popular property portals, you can be sure that marketing your home with Jackson-Stops Dorking will mean it is seen by the widest audience.
From country houses, equestrian properties and rural retreats to period gems, modern masterpieces and luxury properties, our portfolio of family-friendly Dorking homes for sale is extensive.

TACKLING YOUR MOVE WITH EASE
A VIEW FROM THE CHAIR
A warm welcome to today’s guests at the Big Field, Havant RFC. In the away fixture, they were very generous hosts (off the field!) and extremely tough opponents on it. We managed to secure the win by the narrowest of margins with the last play of the game.
With conditions looking good for running rugby, especially if Jonty has remembered to water the pitch, I expect a fast and open game which should be a joy to watch.
We also wish the best of luck to our senior women’s team, who have their final game of the season tomorrow. If results go our way, we could finish top of the table, which would be a fantastic achievement in just our second year of competitive league rugby.
I hope you enjoy today’s game, support the players enthusiastically, and show respect to the officials. And finally, come on Henley!
Shaun Hammond Chairman, Dorking Rugby Club
A WORD FROM THE DOR
Welcome back to the Big Field today.
It feels like ages since we’ve been at home, and what a month April will be with two of our three remaining games here.
A warm welcome to Havant’s players, management, and supporters who have made the trip to Dorking today. I can assure you that you’ll experience a proper rugby day with us.
Even though our league positions are not close, I have the utmost respect for Havant and, of course, I remember what happened in our first-round fixture, where we left it a little late.
A special welcome as well to everyone from Jackson-Stops today. I still have a photo with Alan King from JS back in 2006 when they first sponsored Dorking RFC. I hope you all have a fantastic day, enjoying everything a longstanding sponsor of Dorking RFC should.
Our Under-11s are also here today, as we welcome a touring team from Old Silhillians RFC. I hope you all enjoy the day with us.
Let’s support the team proudly and get behind the boys as we head into the final month of league rugby!
Your DoR, Armand #wacomb

DRFC CELEBRATES ART
TODAY’S OPPONENTS - HAVANT
This weekend, we welcome Havant RFC to The Big Field, another club with a rich history since its founding in 1951. Havant has been a well-established club in Hampshire rugby, with a proud history that includes 16 Hampshire Cup titles and notable achievements, such as reaching the last 16 of the John Player Cup in 1975/76—the first junior club to do so.
Havant’s home is at Hooks Lane, Bedhampton, where the club has steadily expanded its facilities. Their clubhouse, opened in 1955 by the Lady Mayoress of Portsmouth, has undergone multiple extensions, most recently in 1993, when an all-seater grandstand was added. Their history includes key milestones such as winning the Hampshire Cup for the first time in 1974/75 and maintaining their competitive edge ever since.
This season, Havant has proven to be a tough and determined side, consistently pushing opponents close. Their narrow 28-25 defeat to us earlier this season highlighted their resilience, and they will arrive at The Big Field eager to turn the result in their favour.
Currently sitting 13th, one spot and 12 points above the potential relegation zone, Havant are likely just a few points away from securing a second season back in National 2.
As always, we expect them to be a tough opponent today. Despite the expected sunshine, we anticipate another closely contested match at The Big Field.

COCK FACTS - DARAH CHAMBERS
When did you join DRFC ?
I joined because my mate went to school with Jasper. He left Old Cats, and I decided to go with him.
Earliest DRFC Memory?
I wouldn’t say I have a specific rugby player in mind, as I don’t watch a lot of rugby. Instead, my earliest memories are of watching my dad play when I was younger and growing up in a rugby environment.
Rugby Inspiration?
My dad.
If you had to drive from the Big Field to Land’s End, who from the club would you want in the car with you? Tom Dobson – we’d just talk a load of rubbish the whole journey and have a laugh.
Who would be the last person you’d take?
Probably Jasper or Fin – we have different music tastes, and I prefer my music with lyrics.
What was your best memory in a Dorking shirt?
Making 13 tackles in 40 minutes against Guernsey in my first team debut. I think I got player of the match, but you’d have to ask Armand about that one!
What do you like most about playing at DRFC?
The best thing about the club is the people – both the players and the supporters.
COCK FACTS - TOM HARDWICK
When did you join DRFC?
This season—it’s an ambitious club, and I wanted to be part of it.
Earliest DRFC Memory?
Meeting Bealo and talking rugby facts during pre-season.
Rugby inspiration?
Nori Nadruku.
Baldwin—for his knowledge. Colonel—because you need a bit of character in the car.
Who would be the last person you’d take?
Gaz (Gareth Stephens)—miserable and unreliable.
What was your best memory in a Dorking shirt?
The away win at Guernsey two weeks ago. Great travelling support, a big performance away from home, and a quality weekend.
What do you like most about playing at DRFC?
A great bunch of coaches and lads.
If you had to drive from the Big Field to Lands End who from the club would you want in the car with you?
Tom Howe—if he’s allowed out.
