DISCOVERING LEGENDARY ARCHITECTURE
Inspired by our ‘future classic’ Foster + Partners design, we invite you to journey into Dubai on a bespoke, expert-led tour to explore the city’s fascinating stories.
let the discovery begin
No building in Dubai better captures the city’s future-focused architecture than The Lana. With a design by worldrenowned architect Foster + Partners that is hailed as a future classic, the hotel combines the splendour of highrise living with the lush, leafy gardens of private villas.
Set in the vibrant new district of Marasi
Bay Marina, The Lana has spectacular views of the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, and also connects to the next stage of the city’s evolution, Dubai Design District.
Norman Foster once said, “As an architect, you design for the present, with an awareness of the past, for a future which is essentially unknown.”
Imagine life in 2071: this was the brief given to Killa Design for The Museum of the Future. Its breathtaking design expresses a fusion of architecture, technology and knowledge with a distinctive ‘torus’ shape wrapped in more than 1,000 curved stainless steel panels. Envisaged as the first museum to look to the future rather than the past, its entire structure is engraved with quotes about the future in Arabic calligraphy.
The museum itself was conceived by the Dubai Future Foundation, which resides in the world’s first 3D printed office. Its curvaceous white form was printed by a robotic arm in just 17 days.
Water is the thread that connects past, present and future in Dubai, so we will follow the Creek to discover the tranquil Jameel Arts Centre, recently completed by cutting-edge global practice Serie Architects. Away from the buzz of the city, it is the perfect place to catch your breath and enjoy the interplay of art, waterfront scenery and contemporary architecture amidst the scent of aromatic plants and the calming effect of its pure, white sculptural shapes reflected on the water.
