Season of Giving Dear Dorcas Community, It is with great joy and excitement that I welcome you to our 2023 Season of Giving. This year, we’re kicking things off with our Annual Thanksgiving Breakfast on November 2, and we’re back in person for the first time since 2019 and have so much to celebrate! For over 55 years, we have been helping our neighbors thrive by providing financial and food assistance, training and coaching, client advocacy, a place for people to make a difference, and a best-in-class thrift shop for our community. In 2022, we provided over 30,000 services that impacted 5,800 neighbors (over 2,000 families) and over $2.2M in direct food and financial assistance. “After my daughter became sick and I was laid off from my job, I was focused on paying rent and buying groceries. When I got behind on my car payment, Dorcas helped me catch up. I also worked with a career coach to land a new job, and I’ve recently been able to start rebuilding my savings. I may have lost my car and even our home if I hadn’t received help from Dorcas!” – Client testimonial. Our donors, volunteers, community partners, and customers use their dollars, time, goods and purchasing power to change lives in our community daily. They are the ones who make our work possible. “It’s all about the people we serve. Everything we do at Dorcas - from sorting clothes in the [Thrift Shop] warehouse to stocking shelves in the food pantry - makes a difference in people’s lives every day.” – Volunteer testimonial. This November, we invite you to donate to Dorcas and join us on our mission of helping our neighbors thrive. You can give online with a credit or debit card using the QR code below or mail a check in the enclosed return envelope. Please contact us at info@dorcasnc.org GIVE for more information about ONLINE alternative methods of giving. With sincere gratitude,
